A backlight module includes a light source, a first prism sheet disposed on the light source, and a light type adjustment sheet disposed on a side of the first prism sheet away from the light source and including a base and multiple light type adjustment structures. The multiple light type adjustment structures are disposed on the first surface of the base. Each light type adjustment structure has a first structure surface and a second structure surface connected to each other. The first structure surface of each light type adjustment structure and the first surface of the base form a first base angle therebetween, and the second structure surface of each light type adjustment structure and the first surface of the base form a second base angle therebetween. The angle of the first base angle is different from the angle of the second base angle.

Backlight module

An optical structure film and a light source module are provided. The optical structure film includes multiple optical unit microstructures. Each of the optical unit microstructures has four side surfaces and an inwardly concave beam splitting surface. The beam splitting surface is respectively connected to the side surfaces, and the beam splitting surface has four endpoints when viewed from a front viewing angle. Connection lines of the four endpoints form a rectangle. The beam splitting surface includes at least one beam splitting curved surface. A junction of the at least one beam splitting curved surface and one of the four side surfaces is a first line segment. A projection of a midpoint of an edge of the rectangle on the beam splitting surface overlaps with a relative extreme point of the first line segment.

Optical structure film and light source module

A backlight module including a circuit substrate, a plurality of light-emitting devices, a first cholesteric liquid-crystal layer, and a second cholesteric liquid-crystal layer is provided. The light-emitting devices are disposed on the circuit substrate and electrically connected to the circuit substrate. The first cholesteric liquid-crystal layer is disposed on the light-emitting devices and overlapped with a light-emitting surface of each of the light-emitting devices. The second cholesteric liquid-crystal layer is disposed on the first cholesteric liquid-crystal layer and overlapped with the first cholesteric liquid-crystal layer. The first cholesteric liquid-crystal layer and the second cholesteric liquid-crystal layer respectively have a first chiral direction and a second chiral direction. A display apparatus adopting the backlight module is also provided.

Backlight module and display apparatus

A light source module includes a substrate, a light-emitting element, an optical adhesive layer and a reflective structure. The light-emitting element is disposed on the substrate. The optical adhesive layer is disposed on the substrate and covers the light-emitting element. The reflective structure is disposed in the optical adhesive layer and located above the light-emitting element. A display device using the aforementioned light source module is also provided. The light source module provided by the invention has the function of protecting the light-emitting element and improves the problem of the large thickness of the direct-type backlight module in prior art.

Light source module and display device

A light source module includes at least one light-emitting element, a first optical layer, a penetrating light selection layer, a second optical layer, a light splitting layer, and a wavelength conversion layer. The light-emitting element is configured to provide a beam with a wavelength falling within a first wavelength band. An exit angle at which the beam exits the first optical layer is greater than an incident angle at which the beam is incident to the first optical layer. The penetrating light selection layer may allow light with a wavelength falls within a second wavelength band to pass through and has corresponding transmittance for light with a wavelength falling within the first wavelength band and is incident at different incident angles. An exit angle at which the beam exits the second optical layer is less than an incident angle at which the beam is incident to the second optical layer.

Light source module including penetrating light selection layer

A light source module includes an optical plate, a light source and a dimming liquid crystal panel. The dimming liquid crystal panel includes a first driving substrate, a second driving substrate and a liquid crystal material layer. The first driving substrate includes a first substrate and a common electrode. The second driving substrate includes a second substrate, independent electrodes, first signal pads, first wires, dummy wires and a transparent insulation layer. The first wires and dummy wires are disposed on the second substrate and covered by the transparent insulation layer, the first wires are exposed from the transparent insulation layer, the independent electrodes are insulated from each other, disposed on the transparent insulation layer and overlap the first wires and the dummy wires, and each independent electrode is electrically connected to one first signal pad via one first wire. A display device having the light source module is also provided.

Light source module and display device using the same

A liquid crystal light-adjusting film includes a polymer material substrate and a plurality of elliptical crystal cells. The polymer material substrate has a light incident surface and a light exiting surface opposite to each other. A direction from the light incident surface to the light exiting surface is a thickness direction of the polymer material substrate. The elliptical crystal cells are disposed in the polymer material substrate. A long axis direction of each of the elliptical crystal cells is arranged along a first direction perpendicular to the thickness direction, and each of the elliptical crystal cells comprises a plurality of liquid crystal molecules. A manufacturing method of the liquid crystal light-adjusting film and a backlight module using the liquid crystal light-adjusting film are also provided.

An electro-optical apparatus including an electronic apparatus and at least one light-emitting module is provided. The electronic apparatus has a containing area. The light-emitting module is disposed in the containing area and includes at least one light-emitting element, a taper light guide element, and a strip light guide element. The light-emitting element emits at least one beam. The taper light guide element is disposed on the transmission path of the beam and has a first end and a second end opposite to each other. The taper light guide element tapers off from the first end toward the second end. The first end is adjacent to the light-emitting element. The strip light guide element is disposed on the transmission path of the beam from the taper light guide element. The second end is adjacent to the strip light guide element. A scene apparatus is also provided.

Electro-optical apparatus and scene apparatus each having a taper light guide element

A luminous keyboard includes a light guide layer, a light source, a reflecting layer, a circuit layer, a key fixing plate, mechanical keys, and microstructures. The light guide layer has a first surface, a second surface, and a light incident surface. The light source generates a light beam to the light guide layer through the light incident surface. The reflecting layer is disposed beside the first surface of the light guide layer. The circuit layer formed on the second surface of the light guide layer has multiple switches. The key fixing plate is fixed to the second surface of the light guide layer. The mechanical keys are connected to the key fixing plate, corresponding to the switches, and are pressed to trigger the corresponding switches. The microstructures disposed on the light guide layer surround the switches, and guide the light beam from the light guide layer to the mechanical keys.

Luminous keyboard

An optical touch apparatus includes a light source, light guide unit, and optical detector. The light source next to the display area emits a beam. The light guide unit next to the display area and in the transmission path of the beam includes a light guide body and a Lambertian scattering structure. The light guide body has first, second, third, fourth, and light incident surfaces. The beam enters the light guide body through the light incident surface and is transmitted from the first surface to a sensing space in front of the display area. The Lambertian scattering structure is disposed on at least one of the second, third, and fourth surfaces for scattering the beam to the first surface. The optical detector next to the display area senses a change in light intensity of the beam in the sensing space. An optical touch display apparatus is also provided.

Optical touch apparatus having a light guide with scattering particles

An optical touch apparatus including a first light emitting device, a second light emitting device, a third light emitting device, a fourth light emitting device, a first image detector, a second image detector, and a control unit is provided. The control unit controls the average brightness of the third light emitting device less than each of the average brightness of the second light emitting device and the fourth light emitting device when the control unit controls the first image detector to detect an image. The control unit controls the average brightness of the second light emitting device less than each of the average brightness of the first light emitting device and the third light emitting device when the control unit controls the second image detector to detect an image. A driving method is also provided.

Optical touch apparatus and drive method to control an average brightness of LEDs

An optical touch apparatus includes a light source capable of emitting a beam, a light guide unit disposed in a transmission path of the beam, and an optical detector. The light guide unit includes a light guide body having a first surface, a second surface, a third surface, a fourth surface, and a scattering structure disposed on at least one of the second surface, the third surface, and the fourth surface. The beam is capable of entering the light guide body, being scattered to the first surface by the scattering structure, and then being transmitted to a sensing space. The scattering structure includes separated scattering patterns including a resin composition and scattering particles dispersed in the resin composition. The ratio of the weight percentage of the scattering particles to the weight percentage of the resin composition is equal to or greater than 0.1.

A fabrication method of a brightness enhancement film (BEF) including the following steps is provided. A light transmissive substrate is provided and has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. Then, a plurality of first rod-shaped lenses are formed on the first surface. The rod-shaped lenses extend along a first direction and are arranged along a second direction. After that, a plurality of second stripe-shaped prisms are formed on the second surface. The stripe-shaped prisms extend along the second direction and are arranged along the first direction. Next, an electromagnetic wave beam is made to pass through the rod-shaped lenses, the light transmissive substrate and the stripe-shaped prisms in sequence. A first portion of each of the stripe-shaped prisms exposes and leaves a second portion of each of the stripe-shaped prisms unexposed. Then, the second portions of the stripe-shaped prisms are removed.

Fabrication method of brightness enhancement film

A light guide plate capable of guiding a light beam from a light emitting device and a backlight module using the light guide plate are provided. The light guide plate includes a light-transmissive substrate and optical structures. The light-transmissive substrate has a first surface, an opposite second surface, and an incident surface connecting the first and the second surface. The light beam enters the light-transmissive substrate through the incident surface and is emitted out of the light-transmissive substrate through the first surface. The optical structures are disposed on the second surface. Each optical structure has a first total internal reflection (TIR) surface, a second TIR surface, and a third TIR surface. The second TIR surface connects the first and third TIR surfaces. Part of the light beam from the incident surface is totally internally reflected by any adjacent two of the first, second, and third TIR surfaces in sequence.

Light guide plate and backlight module

An optical film is applied to a side-emitting backlight module. The side-emitting backlight module has a light guide plate for guiding a chief light beam. The light guide plate has a light emitting surface to define a normal direction thereof. The optical film includes a lower prism structure, an intermedium layer, and an upper prism structure. The lower prism structure is disposed on the light emitting surface. The intermedium layer is connected between the lower prism structure and the upper prism structure. When the chief light beam exits from the light emitting surface of the light guide plate, and then goes through the lower prism structure, it goes through the intermedium layer along a changed traveling direction. When the chief light beam exits from the intermedium layer, and goes through the upper prism structure, it turns from the changed traveling direction to the normal direction.
