In a method for managing serial attached small computer system interface (SAS) expanders using a host computer, the host computer connects to an SAS expander storage system through a redundant array of independent disks (RAID) card. The SAS expander storage system includes a first switch device, a first SAS expander, a second SAS expander, a second switch, a flash memory, and hard disk drives. The method controls the first switch device to switch the RAID card from the first SAS expander to the second SAS expander when the first SAS expander fails to function, controls the second switch device to switch the flash memory from the first SAS expander to the second SAS expander, and controls the first switch device to connect each of the hard disk drives to the second SAS expander.

Host computer and method for managing SAS expanders of SAS expander storage system

An electronic device includes a fan and a control device for controlling the fan. The control device includes a control unit, a first signal generation unit and a second signal generation unit each connected to the fan. The control unit has a first signal output terminal and a second signal output terminal. In use, the control unit first enables the first signal output terminal to generate a speed adjusting signal to control the fan. The control unit further detects whether a speed measurement signal is received from the fan, and enables the second signal output terminal to generate the speed adjusting signal to control the fan, if no speed measurement signal is received.

In a method for managing redundant arrays of independent disks (RAID) cards and a server for executing the method, the server calculates a theoretical percentage of a load of each RAID card according to a number of the RAID cards, and loads an actual percentage of the load of each RAID card through a multi input output (MIO) interface, and detects peripheral component interconnect-express (PCI-E) bandwidth of each RAID card. When the load of each RAID card is unbalanced or the PCI-E bandwidth of the RAID card is saturated, the server transfers the load from a RAID card having a greater actual percentage of the load into a RAID card having a less actual percentage of the load, and transfers the load from a RAID card whose PCI-E bandwidth is saturated into a RAID card whose PCI-E bandwidth is unsaturated according to differential signals through the MIO interface.

Method and server for managing redundant arrays of independent disks cards

In a method for managing redundant array of independent disk (RAID) cards, physical layer (PHY) chips of the RAID card is detected by a serial port. Information of a malfunctioning PHY chip and a standby PHY chip is read and stored in a firmware of a flash erasable programmable read only memory (EPROM) of the RAID card. An address of the malfunctioning PHY chip is set as an address of the standby PHY chip, and a hard disk electronically connected to the malfunctioning PHY chip is connected to the standby PHY chip. A new serial attached small computer system interface (SAS) address is obtained by amending an original SAS address according to the number and address of the standby PHY chip, and a new firmware is created in the flash EPROM according to the new SAS address.

Server and method for managing redundant array of independent disk cards

A control system for utilizing a memory of a video card of an electronic device is executed by a control unit of the electronic device. The control system includes storage space dividing module and a storage control module. The storage space dividing module divides the memory of the video to a first storage space and a second storage space according to a division proportion, the first storage space is defined to store graphics data temporarily and the second storage space is defined to store particular data. The storage control module determines a size of the second storage space, and obtains the particular data a size less than the size of the second storage space from the storage unit, and stores the particular data into the second storage space.

In a method for controlling a SAS expander to electronically connect to a RAID card in an electronic device, a plurality of different types for RAID cards, and configuration parameters of the SAS expander corresponding to each type of the RAID cards are preset. Information of the RAID card is read if the SAS expander is electronically connected the RAID card. The method further determines whether the RAID card matches the SAS expander. If the RAID card does not match the SAS expander, the configuration parameters of the SAS expander corresponding to the RAID card is read, and the read configuration parameters and the read information of the RAID card are written into a firmware file in the storage system. The method further stores the firmware file into a flash memory of the SAS expander.

In a method of processing an abnormal digital/analog convertor (DAC) of a video card, the video card comprising a first DAC and a second DAC, the video card connecting to an output interface. The method controls the video card to use the first DAC for converting data to the output interface through a first switch and at least one second switches in the video card. The method further detects whether the first DAC works normally. When the first DAC is determined to work abnormally, the method switches the first DAC to the second DAC for converting the data to the output interface through the first switch and the at least one second switches.

System and method for managing digital/analog convertor of a video card

In a method for allocating SAS addresses to SAS expander devices in an SAS expander system, the SAS expander system includes a master SAS expander device, a slave SAS expander device and an EEPROM. The method defines an address parameter for specifying a master SAS address for the master SAS expander device and specifying a slave SAS address for the slave SAS expander device, and obtains an original SAS address from the EEPROM when the original SAS address is identical to either the master SAS address or the slave SAS address. The method adds the address parameter to the original SAS address to generate a first SAS address and allocates the first SAS address to the master SAS expander device. The method adds the address parameter to the first SAS address to generate a second SAS address, and allocates the second SAS address to the slave SAS expander device.

SAS expander system and method for dynamically allocating SAS addresses to SAS expander devices

A display adapter includes first and second conversion circuits, a switch unit, and a video graphics array (VGA) interface. The first conversion circuit includes a digital to analog (D/A) converter and a coupler. The second conversion circuit includes an analog to digital (A/D) converter and a decoupler. When the switch unit connects the first conversion circuit to the VGA interface, the D/A converter converts a digital signals representing VGA data into a first analog form data for coupling with a first alternating current (AC) voltage. When the switch unit connects the second conversion circuit to the VGA interface, the decoupler decouples and separates a second analog form data into the second analog form data. The A/D converter converts the second analog form data into digital signals representing VGA data, and outputs the digital signals representing VGA data to the VGA interface for use by another VGA display device.

Adapter

A method to adjust physical links of serial attached small computer system interface (SAS) expanders of a computing device. The SAS expanders include a first SAS expander and one or more second SAS expanders. When data flow of the physical links of the first SAS expander for transmitting data to a second SAS expander is saturated, the method determines whether the first SAS expander has reserved physical links that can be adjusted. If the first SAS expander has reserved physical links that can be adjusted, the method generates a new firmware, and adjusts the adjusted physical link to the second SAS expander by writing the new firmware to the first SAS expander. The method also adjusts the adjusted physical link to the second SAS expander on hardware circuit.

Computing device and method for adjusting physical links of a SAS expander of the computing device

A television adapter includes first and second conversion circuits, a switch unit, and a high definition television (HDTV) interface. The first conversion circuit includes a digital to analog (D/A) converter and a coupler. The second conversion circuit includes an analog to digital (A/D) converter and a decoupler. When the switch unit connects the first conversion circuit to the HDTV interface, the D/A converter converts a first digital signal from the HDTV interface into a first analog form data. The coupler couples the first analog form data to a first alternating current (AC) voltage. When the switch unit connects the second conversion circuit to the HDTV interface, the decoupler decouples and separates a second AC voltage into a second analog form data. The A/D converter converts the second analog form data into a second digital signal, and outputs the second digital signal to the HDTV interface.

A monitor device adapter includes first and second conversion circuits, a switch unit, and a monitor interface. The first conversion circuit includes a digital to analog (D/A) converter and a coupler. The second conversion circuit includes an analog to digital (A/D) converter and a decoupler. When the switch unit connects the first conversion circuit to the monitor interface, the D/A converter converts a digital signals representing data into a first analog form data for coupling with a first alternating current (AC) voltage. When the switch unit connects the second conversion circuit to the monitor interface, the decoupler decouples and separates a second analog form data into the second analog form data. The A/D converter converts the second analog form data into digital signals representing data, and outputs the digital signals representing data to the monitor interface.

A television adapter includes first and second conversion circuits, a switch unit, and a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI). The first conversion circuit includes a digital to analog (D/A) converter and a coupler. The second conversion circuit includes an analog to digital (A/D) converter and a decoupler. When the switch unit connects the first conversion circuit to the first HDMI, the D/A converter converts a first digital signal from the HDMI into a first analog form data. The coupler couples the first analog form data to a first alternating current (AC) voltage. When the switch unit connects the second conversion circuit to a second HDMI, the decoupler decouples and separates a second AC voltage into a second analog form data. The A/D converter converts the second analog form data into a second digital signal, and outputs the second digital signal to the second HDMI.
