A gate switch apparatus of a-Si LCDs is provided. The gate switch apparatus is suitable for switching a plurality of sub gate lines and disposed in two rim spaces of a display to make a-Si TFT switch with less impedance. According to a switch driving timing, a plurality of sub gate lines are able to share a single gate line, which saves cost and reduces the difficulty in the manufacturing process.

Gate switch apparatus for amorphous silicon LCD

A double waveform method for driving a transmission line at an initial voltage to a final voltage is provided. The method includes finding a first voltage, a first maintenance period for the first voltage, a second voltage and a second maintenance period for the second voltage according to the initial voltage and the final voltage. The first voltage is put on the transmission line for a period equal to the first maintenance period. Thereafter, the second voltage is put on the transmission line for a period equal to the second maintenance period. Finally, the final voltage is put on the transmission line. With this transmission arrangement, a stable and correct signal voltage is transmitted through a transmission line faster.

Double waveform method for driving signals through a transmission line

A sample-and-hold circuit including a first switch, a first capacitor and an amplifier is provided. The switch has a first terminal to receive the input signal and transmit it to a second terminal thereof in the sample period. The first terminal of the first capacitor couples to the second terminal of the first switch, and the second terminal of the first capacitor couples to a first voltage for storing the sampling result of the input signal. The amplifier couples to the second terminal of the first switch, wherein the amplifier is disabled in the sample period, and the amplifier is enabled to generate the output signal according to the sampling result in the hold period.

Sample-and-hold circuits

A low-power-consumption source driver for a liquid crystal display is provided. More than one middle voltage level for the level shifter and the output buffer is provided, in addition to the power supply voltage level VDD and the ground level GND, to provide different voltage levels for image data of different polarities. Hence, amplitude of the operational voltage of the level shifters and the analog circuits with different polarities can be reduced. It also can reduce the amplitude of the operational voltage of the level shifter and can reduce significantly the dynamic power consumption of the level shifter and the DAC. Because the voltage amplitude of the circuit is reduced and a low-voltage tolerated device can be used, so that the present invention can further reduce the cost of the circuit.
