An IC structure includes a resistor circuit and a transistor. The resistor circuit includes a first metal resistor strip over a semiconductor substrate, and a first metal line and a second metal line extending on a same level height above the first metal resistor strip. The first metal resistor strip is a dummy gate. Both the first metal line and the second metal line overlap and are electrically connected to the first metal resistor strip. The transistor includes a metal gate strip on a same level height as the first metal strip and extends in parallel with the first metal resistor strip.

Integrated circuit with feol resistor

An integrated circuit device includes a digitally controlled oscillator (DCO), two charge-sharing capacitors, two charge-sharing switches, two pre-charge switches, and two DACs. The DCO has a first inverter and a second inverter. A first charge-sharing capacitor has a first terminal coupled to an input terminal of the first inverter through a first charge-sharing switch. A first DAC has an output terminal coupled to the first terminal of the first charge-sharing capacitor through a first pre-charge switch. A second charge-sharing capacitor has a first terminal coupled to an input terminal or an output terminal of the second inverter through a second charge-sharing switch. A second DAC has an output terminal coupled to the first terminal of the second charge-sharing capacitor through a second pre-charge switch.

Methods and apparatus of charge-sharing locking with digital controlled oscillators

A gated tri-state (G3S) inverter includes: first, second and third transistors of a first dopant type (D1 transistors) and first, second and third transistors of a second dopant type (D2 transistors) serially connected between a first reference voltage and second reference voltage, the second dopant type being different than the first dopant type; gate terminals of an alpha one of the noted D1 transistors and an alpha one of the noted D2 transistors being configured to receive an input signal; gate terminals of a beta one of the noted D1 transistors and a beta one of the noted D2 transistors being configured to receive a gating signal; a gate terminal of a gamma one of the noted D2 transistors being configured to receive an enable signal; and a gate terminal of a gamma one of the noted D1 transistors being configured to receive an enable_bar signal.

Gated tri-state inverter, and method of operating same

A method includes forming a shallow trench isolation (STI) region in a semiconductor substrate thereby defining an active region and a passive region in the semiconductor substrate and spaced apart from each other by the STI region, forming a first sacrificial gate structure over the active region and a second sacrificial gate structure over the passive region, forming first source/drain regions in the active region and second source/drain regions in the passive region, after forming the first and second source/drain regions, replacing the first sacrificial gate structure with a metal gate structure and the second sacrificial gate structure with a metal resistor structure, the metal resistor structure corresponding to a dummy gate, forming a first gate contact over the metal gate structure, and a pair of resistor contacts over the metal resistor structure, and electrically coupling a set of metal lines with the metal resistor structure by the pair of resistor contacts.

Integrated circuit with FEOL resistor

A counter signal counting at a frequency of a clock signal is generated. Among a plurality of different numeric ranges corresponding to a plurality of different thresholds, a threshold corresponding to a numeric range containing a frequency ratio is selected. In response to the counter signal reaching the selected threshold, a logic level of an output signal is switched.

Compensation circuit and method for frequency divider circuit

A phase interpolating (PI) system includes: a PI stage configured to receive first and second clock signals and a multi-bit weighting signal, and generate an interpolated clock signal; and an amplifying stage configured to receive and amplify the interpolated clock signal, the amplifying stage including a capacitive component. The capacitive component is tunable to exhibit non-zero capacitances. The capacitive component has a Miller effect configuration resulting in a reduced footprint of the amplifying stage.

Gated tri-state inverter, and low power reduced area phase interpolator system including same, and method of operating same

A light lid with a previewing window is disclosed. The light lid provides a lightsome window to preview a transparent original. The light lid comprises a housing that has an opening, and a light conductive plate, which is positioned under the housing to conduct light upwards and downwards evenly so that the light illuminates evenly on the opening and a scanner. Therefore, a user can place a transparent original, such as negatives, above the opening to preview the image of the negatives clearly by the light which is conducted by the light conductive plate and past through the opening.
