An air-shielding mechanism for a computing system is disclosed. A computing system includes a server chassis with a slot configured to receive a computing node. An air-shielding mechanism is positioned within the slot and includes a connecting rod movably coupled within the slot and a movable flap coupled to the connecting rod. The connecting rod rotates in a first direction in response to pressure generated by contact between the computing node inserted within the slot and the connecting rod. The movable flap is in a closed position when the computing node is absent from the slot, and the movable flap is in an open position when the computing node is fully inserted within the respective slot. The movable flap rotates in a second direction while the connecting rod is rotating in the first direction, the second direction being opposite the first direction.

Air shielding mechanism for computing system

A fan module and computing device with the fan module are disclosed. The fan module includes a handle configured to actuate between an operation state and a release state. The handle in the release state allows a user to vertically remove the fan module from its respective fan module slot and away from the bottom panel.

A fan system and a computing system with the fan system are disclosed. The fan system includes a fan module. The fan module includes a housing configured to retain a fan and a motor to rotate the fan. The housing includes an air inlet aperture on an air inlet side of the housing and an air outlet aperture on an air outlet side of the housing. The fan system further includes an outlet fan guard coupled to the fan module on the air outlet side of the housing. The outlet fan guard includes at least one flap rotatable between a closed position, covering the air outlet aperture of the housing, and an open position, uncovering the air outlet aperture of the housing. The outlet fan guard further includes at least one spring urging the at least one flap into the closed position.

A cable clip assembly for a computing device includes a primary clip with a primary surface between first and second primary ends. The first side extends in a first transverse direction from the first primary end, and the second side extends in the first transverse direction from the second primary end. Cable-receiving holes are arranged longitudinally between the first and second sides. A secondary clip has a secondary surface and is attached to the primary clip via the first and second sides. The secondary clip is movable relative to the primary clip between a cable installation position and a secured cable position, and is removably attached at one or more of the first and second sides. A compressible interface is attached to the primary surface, includes a flexible material that compresses when subjected to an installation force, and creates an airflow barrier in an installed position within the computing device.

Cable clip assembly and method for computing system

A quick-disconnect (QD) connector is configured for a server having electronic modules and an internal fluid circulation system for circulating fluid to cool the electronic modules. The QD connector comprises a first manifold, a second manifold, and a mating actuator. The second manifold is removably connected to the first manifold. The fluid is flowable within the internal fluid circulation system of the server in response to the first manifold and the second manifold being in a connected state. The mating actuator includes a handle and a buckle attached to the handle. The handle is movably coupled to the first manifold so as to be movable from a first position to a second position. The buckle is configured to engage the second manifold and to move the first and second manifolds into the connected state in response to the handle being moved from the first position to the second position.

Quick-disconnect assembly for a fluid line in a server

An optical transceiver for connection between an optical socket and an electrical socket is disclosed. The optical transceiver includes an electrical connector and an optical connector. The optical transceiver has an electronics housing holding the electrical and optical connectors in relative position to each other allowing the simultaneous connection to an electrical socket and an optical socket. The electrical and optical connectors may be moved between an extended position and a retracted position relative to the electronics housing when being engaged or disengaged with respective electrical and optical sockets.

A connector assembly for connecting an upper circuit board to a lower circuit board is disclosed. The upper circuit board includes a series of fastener holes for a fastening device allowing attachment to the lower circuit board. The connector assembly has a support bracket with access holes aligned with the holes of the upper circuit board. The support bracket is configurable to be positioned over the upper circuit board. The connector assembly has a moveable cover bracket having a series of access holes. The cover bracket is suspended between the support bracket and the cover bracket. The cover bracket is moveable between an open position aligning the access holes with the access holes of the support bracket, and a closed position. In the closed position, the cover bracket blocks access between the access holes of the support bracket and the holes of the upper circuit board.

A gear assembly for securing an adapter card in a computer chassis includes a guide rail receiver, a gear system, and a lever. The guide rail receiver is configured to receive a guide rail coupled to an adapter card module for docking an adapter card to an electrical connector to a motherboard. The gear system is coupled to the guide rail. The lever is coupled to the gear system. The lever includes an open position to allow the adapter card module to be inserted and removed from the computer chassis, and a closed position to dock an adapter card to the electrical connector.

The present disclosure describes a connector assembly for a liquid manifold within a server rack. The connector assembly includes a pipe configured to connect to the liquid manifold. The pipe has a flexible portion configured to accommodate at least one of lateral or vertical manipulation of the pipe while the pipe remains connected to the liquid manifold. The connector assembly further includes a first connector and a second connector configured to form a liquid-tight connection when coupled together. One of the first connector and the second connector is connected to a distal end of the pipe. The other of the first connector and the second connector is configured to connect to a component within the server rack, for supplying coolant from the liquid manifold to the component.

A method and apparatus are described for moving a tray within a confined space while the tray is bounded by a chassis. The movement of the tray is effected by a driven gear moving along a rack. A driving gear for rotating the driven gear is mounted on a handle or integral with a rotatable handle. The handle is rotatable about a pivot mounted on the chassis to provide the driving force to move the driven gear along the rack.

Horizontal motion mechanism in limited space

An equipment rack with a compact adjustable cable management arm is disclosed. The equipment rack includes a plurality of chassis slots arranged vertically. Each chassis slot is operable to hold at least one removable electronic device. A pair of side rails supports the plurality of chassis slots. An adjustable cable management arm is located on one end of the side rails. The adjustable cable management arm has at least a first vertical position allowing access to one of the chassis slots. The adjustable cable management arm has a second vertical position allowing access to another of the chassis slots blocked by the cable management arm when the cable management arm is in the first vertical position.

The present disclosure provides a latch assembly for securing an electronic component within a computing device. The latch assembly includes a latch, a base, and a cover. The latch includes a first structural member with a first plurality of pins; a second structural member with a second plurality of pins; at least one linking element that connects the first structural member with the second structural member; and a first securing element located at the first structural member. The base includes a receiving space for receiving the latch; a first plurality of slots configured to receive the first plurality of pins; a second plurality of slots configured to receive the second plurality of pins; a plurality of protruding elements; and a second securing element corresponding with the first securing element. The cover is secured to the base at the plurality of protruding elements.

System and method for a solid state drive (SSD) enclosure

A locking mechanism for securing a component card to a main board is provided and includes a base having a top portion with a beveled edge and a coupling portion engageable with the main board. The locking mechanism includes a sliding element slidably, coupled to the base, having an extended protrusion. The sliding element is slidable between a locked and an unlocked position, where the protrusion is displaced towards the base in the unlocked position. The locking mechanism includes a biasing element between the base and the sliding element within a protuberance opposite the protrusion. The biasing element urges the sliding element toward the locked position. The protuberance includes an aperture formed at an end opposite the protrusion and allows a portion of the biasing element to pass through. In the locked position, a bottom surface of the protrusion and a top surface of the base define a receiving space.

Auto-lock mechanism

An expansion card includes a mounting bracket with a full height I/O panel with a top mounting panel attached thereto extending orthogonally away. A low profile printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) is physically attached to at least one of the top mounting panel and the full height I/O panel, and the mounting bracket and low profile PCBA define a full height expansion card. The low profile PCBA has a card edge that is insertably connectable to an I/O connector of an information handling system (IHS) to communicate with other components of the IHS. A full height heat sink is attached to the low profile PCBA and extends across a portion of the top mounting panel, providing increased heat dissipation for functional components of the low profile PCBA during operation of the low profile PCBA. A battery compartment is mounted on the mounting panel and supplies power to the functional components.
