A computer system includes an identification device and a host. The identification device includes a first wireless module for receiving a radio identification signal and then emitting a radio user signal with an identification code. The host includes a processing module for controlling operation of the host, a second wireless module for emitting the radio identified signal and receiving the user signal, a power supply for supplying power to the processing module while receiving a power control signal, and a control module electrically connected to the power supply. Before the power supply supplies power to the processing module, the control module checks whether the identification code within the user signal matches a predetermined identification code as the second wireless module receives the user signal. If the identification code within the user signal matches the predetermined identification code, the control module can transmit the power control signal to the power supply.

A method for dynamically adjusting central processing unit (CPU) frequency. Firstly, a translation table is provided between multi-layer of CPU usage percentage and front-side bus operation frequency. Secondly, a current usage percentage of the CPU is obtained. Lastly, the operation frequency of the front-side bus is adjusted to a corresponding layer according to the current usage rage, so that the current usage rage is located within the range of CPU usage percentage that is defined by corresponding layer.

A video signal converter receives an input video signal from a host and transmits an output video signal to a detachable display module of a portable computer. The video signal converter includes a base, a latch unit and a video processing unit. The base supports the display module thereon. The latch unit engages removably the display module when the display module is supported on the base. The video signal processing unit is operable so as to convert the input video signal into the output video signal that is suitable for use by the display module.

A portable electronic apparatus includes a host module, a display module, and a folding pivot module interconnecting the host and display modules. The pivot module includes first and second module members. The host module is connected pivotally to the first module member. The first module member is formed with a receiving cavity and is connected pivotally to the second module member. The display module is connected pivotally to the second module member. The second module member is received in the receiving cavity when in a folded position.

A circuit board assembly includes first and second circuit board devices. The first circuit board device includes a printed circuit board, a first controller mounted on the first printed circuit board, and a first communications unit mounted on the first printed circuit board and that is connected electrically to the first controller. The second circuit board device includes a second printed circuit board separate from the first printed circuit board, a second controller mounted on the second printed circuit board, and a second communications unit mounted on the second printed circuit board and connected electrically to the second controller. A SATA connector includes a housing, signal and power panels disposed in the housing, first and second signal terminals mounted on two opposite surfaces of the signal panel that are opposite to each other in a vertical direction, and first and second power terminals respectively mounted on two opposite surfaces of the power panel that are opposite to each other in the vertical direction. A heat dissipating device includes a housing and a fan unit. The housing has a top wall, a bottom wall opposite to the top wall, and a lateral wall that interconnects the top and bottom walls. Each of the top, bottom and lateral walls is formed with at least one vent hole therethrough. The fan unit is mounted in the housing for circulating air within the housing. The fan unit is operable so as to allow cool air to flow into and heated air to flow out of the housing through the vent holes in the top, bottom and lateral walls.

An electronic apparatus includes a housing, a circuit unit, and an external power supply module. The housing is formed with a circuit receiving space and a module receiving space. The circuit unit is disposed in the circuit receiving space. A set of first contacts is disposed in the module receiving space, and is coupled electrically to the circuit unit. The external power supply module is removably disposed in the module receiving space, and is provided with a set of second contacts to connect electrically with the first contacts so as to enable the external power supply module to supply electric power to the circuit unit when the external power supply module is disposed in the module receiving space.

Electronic apparatus with keyboard module which can be rotated and hidden. The electronic apparatus includes an electronic apparatus main body and a keyboard module. One side of the main body is provided with pivot notches. The keyboard module is pivotally connected with the side of the main body via bracket members freely pivotally inlaid in the pivot notches. The keyboard module can be turned rearward to attach to back face of the main body and hidden behind the main body for easy carriage. In addition to the virtual keyboard on the operation panel of the electronic apparatus, a user can alternatively pivot the keyboard module toward the operation panel for quickly keying in data.

In a portable electronic apparatus, a cover device includes a stand unit provided on a cover body. The stand unit includes a support member connected to and pivotable relative to the cover body. A foldable limiting member is connected to the support member and is connected to the cover body for limiting the support member at the supporting position. The cover device is assembled removably on a user interface device for protecting an operating surface of the user interface device when the support member is in a collapsed position, where the support member lies on the cover body, and is removed from the user interface device to permit movement of the support member to a supporting position, where the support member forms an angle with the cover body for positioning the user interface device on the stand unit.

A CPU activity monitoring circuit is electrically connected to a CPU. This circuit monitors the state of a bus signal line on the CPU, as there is a strong correlation between the state of this line and the processing load of the CPU. This circuit can interrupt the processor to force an interrupt service call to a BIOS routine. This BIOS routine will adjust the internal clock frequency, or internal operating voltage, of the CPU based upon the perceived processing load of the CPU.
