An apparatus includes a casing, an electrical connector, and a latch unit. The electrical connector is provided in the casing, and is coupled electrically to a terminal of a disk drive when the latter is received in the casing. The latch unit includes a latch member that is provided on the disk drive, a first interlocking member that is formed on the latch member, an operating member that is pivoted to the casing, and a second interlocking member that is formed on the operating member, and that engages the first interlocking member when the electrical connector is connected to the terminal of the disk drive. The operating member is operable so as to disengage the second interlocking member from the first interlocking member, thereby permitting removal of the disk drive form the casing.

An electronic device includes: a conductive housing having an upright end wall formed with an opening; a mother board mounted in the conductive housing and having an end that is disposed adjacent to the upright end wall of the conductive housing, and a grounding trace that has a first end portion disposed adjacent to the end of the mother board, and a second end portion distal from the end of the mother board; a connector mounted on the mother board adjacent to the end of the mother board, extending through the opening in the upright end wall of the conductive housing, and having a grounding pin in electrical contact with the first end portion of the grounding trace; and a ground-bridging mechanism disposed adjacent to the first end portion of the grounding trace and bridging electrically the conductive housing and the first end portion of the grounding trace.

Earphone jack

A foldable electronic device includes first and second members interconnected pivotally by a coupling unit. The first and second members have first and second positioning portions, respectively. The coupling unit includes a coupling link, a slide link and a biasing member. The coupling link has a first end portion retained rotatably at the first positioning portion, and an opposite second end portion extending in a longitudinal direction. The slide link is retained slidably on the coupling link for sliding along the longitudinal direction, and is retained rotatably at the second positioning portion. The biasing member pulls the slide link toward the first member. The coupling unit permits movement of the second member in sequence from an unfolded position, a first intermediate position, a second intermediate position, and to a folded position relative to the first member.

An earphone jack includes an insulative housing and conductive first, second and third contact members. The insulative housing has opposite front and rear ends, and is formed with a plug insertion hole that extends from the front end to the rear end. The plug insertion hole has front and rear hole sections adjacent to the front and rear ends of the insulative housing, respectively. The insulative housing is formed with a first contact mounting portion adjacent to the front end of the insulative housing, and a second contact mounting portion between the first contact mounting portion and the rear end of the insulative housing. The conductive first and second contact member are mounted on the insulative housing at the first and second contact mounting portions, respectively, and extend into the front hole section. The third contact member has a pair of prongs that extend into the rear hole section.

An electrical socket includes a socket body, a central terminal pin, and a curved spring terminal piece. The socket body includes a bottom surface with a dovetail groove, which has a rear end retaining portion that is adapted to receive an engaging end portion of a hollow plug fittingly therein, and a protrusion adapted to engage an annular groove in the plug. The central terminal pin is adapted to be inserted into the plug for electrical connection therewith. The spring terminal piece has a movable portion that is adapted to engage the groove in the plug so as to press the plug against the protrusion such that the plug is clamped between the protrusion and the terminal pin, thereby forming electrical connection with the plug when the plug is inserted into the socket body.
