Disclosure herein is related to an outdoor wireless modem and a signal processing method thereof. The outdoor wireless modem is particularly disposed in the midst of and bridging a local-area network and a wide-area network established by a mobile communication network. One of the objectives of the invention is to provide a solution replacing the present last mile connection. According to one of the embodiments, main circuit of the outdoor wireless modem includes a radio-frequency module and a baseband module. The baseband module includes at least two processing circuits for respectively processing the signals over the mobile communication network and the packets over the local-area network. The processing circuits are packaged into one module according to the design. Further in one embodiment, a bandwidth integration unit is introduced to the modem. The bandwidth integration unit serves to achieve load balance and bandwidth integration.

Outdoor wireless modem and signal processing method thereof

The invention presents a Wake On LAN (WOL) test system and method thereof, wherein the system is applied for a client/server structure with the ILO (Integrated Lights-Out) inside server platform. A method for finding and reserving bandwidth in multihop mobile wireless networks is disclosed, which first finds the common free slots of all the links on a path, and marks the common free slots as 'available' slots. Then, the slots among the common free slots which are not on the same positions in the TDMA frame as the common free slots of the downstream and upstream links for each link are found and marked as 'reservable' slots. The current bandwidth of a link is defined as the current number of reservable slots on the link. Next, An iterative process is performed to try to increase the bandwidth of the link having the smallest current bandwidth such that the bandwidth of the path can be increased.

Method for finding and reserving available bandwidth in multihop mobile wireless networks

In a multiple access control system with intelligent bandwidth allocation for wireless ATM networks, an intelligent bandwidth allocator is provided for statically allocating reservation type bandwidth and dynamically allocating contention type bandwidth to the mobile terminal. A traffic estimator/predicator is provided for predicting the CNF value of a subsequent frame by the CNF value of at least one frame, and determining the number of the SCR slots and ABR slots to be allocated. A multiple access controller is used for providing the reservation type bandwidth with a multiple access function in a reservation access manner, and providing the contention type bandwidth with a multiple access function in a contention access manner.

Multiple access control system with intelligent bandwidth allocation for wireless ATM networks

There is disclosed a double-threshold admission control method in cluster-based micro/picocellular wireless networks. The method provides a cluster level threshold and cell level threshold. When the number of occupied channels in the cluster is less than the cluster level threshold and the number of occupied channels in the cell is less than the cell level threshold the mobile user is admitted to enter a cell. Otherwise, the mobile user is refused to enter the cell.
