An LCD panel including a first substrate, multiple horizontal and vertical conductive lines, support pads to form first protrusions, a second substrate, a main spacer, a compensation spacer, and a liquid crystal layer is provided. The main spacer and the compensation spacer are in sliding contact with the first protrusions in the horizontal or vertical direction in a plane of the LCD panel, and the compensation spacer is disposed around the main spacer and corresponding first protrusions are next to the compensation spacer. In the horizontal or vertical direction, the main spacer is partially contacted with the first protrusion to obtain a reduced contacting area, and the compensation spacer is partially contacted with the adjacent first protrusion to obtain an increased contacting area. The reduced contacting area between the main spacer and the first protrusion is equal to the increased contacting area between the compensation spacer and the first protrusion.

An active device array substrate including a substrate, a pixel array, pads, first switching devices, and second switching devices is provided. The pixel array is disposed on a display region of the substrate. The pads, the first and the second switching devices are disposed on a peripheral circuit region of the substrate. The pads and the pixel array are electrically connected. The first and the second switching devices are at the outside of the pads. Each first switching device is electrically connected to one of the pads and has a source, a drain, and a gate electrically connected to the source and the pad. Each second switching device is electrically connected to two adjacent first switching devices and has a gate, a source, and a drain. The source and the drain are electrically connected to the drain and the source of the adjacent first switching device, respectively.

A pixel array includes many scan lines, data lines and pixel structures coupled to the scan lines and data lines. Each of the pixel structures includes a first pixel unit and a second pixel unit. Each of the first pixel units includes a first switch device. Each of the second pixel units includes a second switch device and a coupling capacitor. In each of the pixel structures in an irow, a control end and a first end of the first switch device are respectively coupled to the iscan line and one of the data lines; a control end and a first end of the second switch device are respectively coupled to the (i&#x2212;1)scan line and a second end of the first switch device. The coupling capacitor is coupled between the second end of the first switch device and a second end of the second switch device.

Pixel array

A display apparatus and the driving method thereof are provided. The display apparatus includes a display panel and a gate driver electrically connected to the display panel. The display panel has N scan units. Here, N is a positive integer, and each of the scan units has a first scan line and a second scan line. The gate driver provides N gate control signals to the scan units. The i-th gate control signal corresponds to the i-th scan unit, and i is less than N. When the i-th gate control signal and the (i+1)-th gate control signal are simultaneously enabled, the pixel elements corresponding to the first scan line and the second scan line of the i-th scan unit are simultaneously scanned. When the i-th gate control signal is enabled, the pixel elements corresponding to the first scan line of the i-th scan unit are scanned.

Display apparatus and driving method for display panel

A pixel array structure includes scan lines, data lines, first pixels, and second pixels. The scan lines and the data lines are intersected. The first and the second pixels are staggered. Each first pixel includes a first switching element, a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode electrically connected to the first switching element. Each second pixel includes a second switching element, a third pixel electrode and a fourth pixel electrode electrically connected to the second switching element. The first and the second switching elements electrically connect corresponding scan lines and data lines. A pattern of the first pixel electrode is symmetrical to a pattern of the fourth pixel electrode with respect to an extending direction of the scan lines. A pattern of the second pixel electrode is symmetrical to a pattern of the third pixel electrode with respect to the extending direction of the scan lines.

An active device array substrate includes a number of scan lines, a number of data lines perpendicular to the scan lines, and a number of pixel regions. Each of the pixel regions includes a number of pixel sets arranged along a direction of the data lines. Each of the pixel sets has a number of adjacent pixels arranged along the direction of the data lines. The pixels in each of the pixel sets are electrically connected to the same data line. Each of the scan lines is separately arranged between the pixels. The data lines corresponding to the same pixel region are adjacent to one another and arranged at the same side of the pixel region.

A display panel, a display apparatus and the driving method thereof are provided. The gate control signals can interactively control more number of scan lines by disposing corresponding switches between the adjacent scan lines in the display panel, wherein every two scan lines correspond to a gate control signal, so as to reduce the number of the gate driving ICs and the layout space required by the fan out area in the display panel.

A pixel structure including a substrate, a scan line, a patterned common line, an active device, a data line, a passivation layer, and a pixel electrode is provided. The scan line, the patterned common line, and the active device are disposed on the substrate. The active device has an insulation layer extending outward to cover the scan line and the patterned common line. Besides, the patterned common line has at least a first side and a second side. Extending directions of the first side and the second side together form a first included angle. The data line is disposed on the insulation layer, and the active device is electrically connected to the scan line and the data line. The passivation layer covers the active device. The pixel electrode is disposed on the passivation layer and electrically connected to the active device.

The method of repairing the pixel is to cut off the connection between the drain electrode of the working thin film transistor and the pixel electrode, and then to connect the main gate electrode or the drain electrode of the backup thin film transistor to the gate electrode or the drain electrode of the working thin film transistor, such that the backup thin film transistor can replace the working thin film transistor to drive the pixel electrode.

With the shading film covering the entire non-display region, the problem of light leakage from the edge of the display device is resolved.

The pixel structure includes a scan line, a data line, a thin film transistor, a pixel electrode, a common line and a dielectric layer. The common line adjacent to the data line serves as a repairing section, the repairing section includes a first repairing terminal, a second repairing terminal and a cutting region, the first repairing terminal and the second repairing terminal are disposed under the data line and the cutting region is disposed between the first repairing terminal and the section of the common line that does not extend along the data line, and the pixel electrode does not cover the cutting region.
