The invention provides an intra-needle ultrasound system and its method of use for analysis, tracking, and display of pleura in millimeter-scale resolution. This method includes the following steps: Assembling the puncture needle and intra-needle ultrasound transducer, which can generate and receive ultrasound waves at the needle tip. To transform the axial ultrasonic signal into a figure, that can help to identify different anatomic structures according to the corresponding feature of ultrasonic RF (Radio Frequency) signal, and to set the region of interest according to corresponding RF feature of amplitude and depth. This invention can indicate the distance between the ultrasound needle tip and pleura in a real-time fashion, and to identify the best position for anesthetic injection in the paravertebral block (PVB) and the intercostals nerve block (ICNB). The system can also help to avoid damage to the pleura and lung during the nerve block procedure.

An integrated medical bite block is engaged by a user's teeth and installed into the user's mouth. The bite block includes a through passageway, an upper grove, and a lower grove. The through passageway is penetrating through the bite block. One end of the through passageway comprises an inlet opening, the other end comprises an oral opening. The oral opening is connected with the user's mouth. An upper surface of the bite block provides the upper grove configured for receiving one or more upper teeth (maxillary teeth) of the user, and a lower surface of the bite block provides a lower grove configured for receiving one or more lower teeth (mandibular teeth) of the user. One distance between the lower grove and the oral opening is greater than the other distance between the upper grove and the oral opening, thereby the invention serves to extend forward the mandible and reposition a malposition between the mandible and the maxilla of the user.

The present invention provides a method of obtaining a classification boundary, to limit an axial depth in a puncturing operation. The following steps of method comprises: At first, obtaining a plurality of tomographic images from the axial depth of a tissue is performed. Then, obtaining a plurality of characteristic values from the tomographic images, the characteristic values are classified by a Support Vector Machine method. A classification boundary will be obtained through a distribution of the graph for defining a specific compartment of the tissue. In addition, an automatic recognition method and system using the above mentioned method are also disclosed in the present invention.

An ultrasonic positioning method for real time measuring the distance between the epidural needle and the epidural space is provided. The ultrasonic positioning method at least includes a puncturing step; an advancing step; a positioning step for simultaneous detecting reflected ultrasonic signals from the ligamentum flavum (LF) and dura mater (DM); a replacement step for removing the ultrasound needle transducer and putting an injecting catheter; and an injection step for injecting an anesthetic into the epidural space via the injecting catheter.
