A boost converter includes an inductor and a diode electrically connected in series between an input voltage and an output voltage; a transistor electrically coupled to an interconnected node of the inductor and the diode; and a controller that controls switching of the transistor according to a transient mode and an estimated load current. The output voltage in a light-to-heavy load transient mode has at least one first valley point with a value of a transient voltage threshold, followed by at least one second valley point with a value higher than the first valley point, before exiting the light-to-heavy load transient mode.

Boost converter with fast transient response

An all-MOSFET voltage reference circuit includes a first cascaded branch configured to generate a bias current and composed of a first current source and a diode-connected first N-type transistor connected at a first interconnected node; a second cascaded branch composed of a second current source, a diode-connected second N-type transistor and a third N-type transistor connected with the second N-type transistor disposed in between, wherein the second N-type transistor and the third N-type transistor are connected at a second interconnected node; a third cascaded branch composed of a third current source and a diode-connected fourth N-type transistor connected at an output node that provides a reference voltage; and an amplifier with a non-inverting node coupled to the first interconnected node and an inverting node coupled to the second interconnected node. A threshold voltage of the third N-type transistor is larger than a threshold voltage of the second N-type transistor.

All-MOSFET voltage reference circuit with stable bias current and reduced error

A digital constant on-time controller adaptable to a direct-current (DC)-to-DC converter includes a current sensing circuit that senses stored energy of the DC-to-DC converter, thereby generating a sense voltage; a semi-amplitude detector that detects half of a peak-to-peak amplitude of the sense voltage, thereby generating a semi-amplitude voltage; a DC voltage detector that detects a DC voltage across an effective series resistor of an energy storage circuit that provides the stored energy of the DC-to-DC converter, thereby generating a DC voltage; an arithmetic device that adds the sense voltage and the semi-amplitude voltage, from which the DC voltage and a predetermined reference signal are subtracted; and a pulse-width modulation (PWM) generator that generates a switch control signal according to a result of the arithmetic device.

Digital constant on-time controller adaptable to a DC-to-DC converter

A digital constant on-time controller adaptable to a direct-current (DC)-to-DC converter includes a current sensing circuit that senses stored energy of the DC-to-DC converter, thereby generating a sense voltage; an offset cancellation circuit coupled to receive the sense voltage, thereby generating an offset-removed sense voltage according to a valley voltage of the sense voltage; a comparator that compares the offset-removed sense voltage with a reference signal; and a pulse-width modulation (PWM) generator that generates a switch control signal according to a comparison result of the comparator.

DC-to-DC converter and a digital constant on-time controller thereof

A multi-point temperature sensing method for integrated circuit chips and a system of the same are revealed. The system includes at least one slave temperature sensor embedded at preset positions for measuring temperature of a block and a master temperature sensor embedded in an integrated circuit chip and electrically connected to each slave temperature sensor. Variations of the slave temperature sensor induced by variations of process, voltage and temperature are corrected by the master temperature sensor. Thus the area the temperature sensors required on the integrated circuit chip is dramatically reduced and the stability of the temperature control system is improved. The problem of conventional System-on-a-Chip that only a limited number of temperature sensors could be used due to the area they occupied can be solved.

Multi-point temperature sensing method for integrated circuit chip and system of the same

A digitally controlled non-inverting buck-boost DC-DC converter system including a non-inverting buck-boost DC-to-DC converter control module and a negative feedback module and applicable for a radio frequency circuit module is revealed. By locking a duty cycle to two specific levels, the non-inverting buck-boost DC-to-DC converter control module only needs a single operation mode to achieve the required effects. Simultaneously, pulse-skipping phenomenon is also avoided. Furthermore, a reference voltage is modified through a reference voltage correction circuit of the negative feedback module to eliminate errors between previous DC output voltage and the reference voltage. Thereby the DC output voltage can remain in a stable state so as to reduce operational defects during the mode transition.

Digitally controlled non-inverting buck-boost DC-DC converter system

A monitoring method with a function of correlation-based system identification applicable for a digitally controlled DC-DC converter system is revealed. The monitoring method includes a plurality of steps. After the system is operated in a steady state, input a pseudo random binary sequence signal into the system via a pseudo random binary sequence generator and store the pseudo random binary sequence signal and an output signal of a path to be monitored in a memory unit. Then perform a correlation analysis of data stored in the memory unit by a correlation analysis module and output an impulse response. Next obtain a frequency response of the impulse response by a discrete-time Fourier transform module. Finally, smooth the frequency response by an adaptive sliding window smoothing module so that a monitoring curve of the frequency response becomes smooth.

Monitoring method with function of correlation-based system identification

A source driver adapted to drive a display panel is provided herein. The source driver includes a first output buffer, a detection module and a conversion module. The first output buffer enhances a first pixel signal and thereby outputs a first enhanced pixel signal. The detection module detects a rise time of the first enhanced pixel signal. The conversion module adjusts a driving capability of the first output buffer in response to the rise time for adjusting a slew rate of the first output buffer. Therefore, the first output buffer in the source driver can dynamically and automatically adjusts the slew rate of the first output buffer through a feedback mechanism composed of the detection module and the conversion module.

Source driver

A buffering circuit with reduced power consumption is provided. The output buffering circuit includes first and second amplifier circuits. The first amplifier circuit includes a first input stage and a first output stage both coupled between a first power voltage and a second power voltage lower than the first power voltage, and an assistant discharging unit configured to provide a discharging current flowing from a first output node to a first intermediate power voltage during a discharging operation of the first amplifier circuit. The second amplifier circuit includes a second input stage and a second output stage both coupled between the first power voltage and the second power voltage, and an assistant charging unit configured to provide a charging current flowing from a second intermediate power voltage to a second output node during a charging operation of the second amplifier circuit. The first and second amplifier circuits can have reduced output voltage ranges and hence reduced total power consumption.

Buffering circuit with reduced dynamic power consumption

An output buffer and a source driver for a display panel are provided. The output buffer includes a differential input stage, a bias current source, a feedback module, and an output stage. The differential input stage has a first input terminal and a second input terminal receiving a first input signal and a second input signal respectively, and a first output terminal. The bias module provides a bias current to the differential input stage. The output stage has a second output terminal coupled to the first input terminal for providing an output current to the second output terminal based on a signal of the first output terminal. The feedback module adjusts the bias current and the output current based on the first input signal and the second input signal. The output buffer has ability of switching the output voltage to be low level and high level in high-speed.

Output buffer and source driver using the same

A source driving circuit adapted to drive a display panel is provided herein. The source driving circuit includes a first output buffer and a second output buffer responsible for enhancing signals with different polarities respectively. As for the first output buffer, the first output buffer includes a first differential input stage, a first output stage and a second output stage. The first output stage includes a first level adjustment circuit and a first self-bias providing circuit. The first level adjustment circuit provides a first level voltage according to input signals received by the first differential input stage, such that the second output stage thereby provides a first charge current and a second charge current to output a first output signal based on the first level voltage. The first self-bias providing circuit provides a first biased voltage associated with one input signal to control the first level adjustment circuit to operate.

Source driving circuit with output buffer

An output buffer including a first differential input stage, a primary output stage, and a secondary output stage is provided herein. The first differential input stage respectively receives a first and a second input signals via a first and a second input terminals. The primary output stage includes a first and a second output stages. The first output stage provides at least one first level voltage according to the first and the second input signals, and the second output stage controlled by the first level voltage drives an output terminal of the output buffer to a target level. The secondary output stage includes a comparator and a third output stage. The comparator compares the induced currents in the first differential input stage, and thereby generates a control voltage. The third output stage controlled by the control voltage drives the output terminal of the output buffer to the target level.
