Rotational hook mechanism for drop prevention and protection during module removal

A cam mounting mechanism ('CMM') includes a detachable mounting tray ('tray') that includes a base and two side walls. Each side wall includes engagement notches that receive a respective engagement member of a sled enclosure of a server chassis. The CMM includes two internal sliding rails (&#x201c;IRRs&#x201d;), each being attached to an internal surface of a respective side wall of the tray by a respective fastener that extends through a respective slide slot of the IRR, and each including the respective slide slots and multiple guide slots. Each slide slot enables the IRR to slide longitudinally relative to the side wall. Each guide slot slidably receives a respective engagement member and is shaped to constrain the tray to vertical movement relative to the sled enclosure while constraining the IRR to longitudinal movement. The CMM includes a cam handle that rotates in order to drive both IRRs to move in unison.

Double-layer compute sled and cam mounting mechanism

An expansion card includes a mounting bracket with a full height I/O panel with a top mounting panel attached thereto extending orthogonally away. A low profile printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) is physically attached to at least one of the top mounting panel and the full height I/O panel, and the mounting bracket and low profile PCBA define a full height expansion card. The low profile PCBA has a card edge that is insertably connectable to an I/O connector of an information handling system (IHS) to communicate with other components of the IHS. A full height heat sink is attached to the low profile PCBA and extends across a portion of the top mounting panel, providing increased heat dissipation for functional components of the low profile PCBA during operation of the low profile PCBA. A battery compartment is mounted on the mounting panel and supplies power to the functional components.

Full height I/O bracket for low profile expansion card

A differential-phase polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography system includes a polarized heterodyne interferometer for generating a reference beam to be reflected by a movable mirror unit, and a signal beam to be reflected by an imaging plane in a specimen. The interferometer further generates a first electrical signal output corresponding to first linear polarized waves of the reference and signal beams, and a second electrical signal output corresponding to second linear polarized waves of the reference and signal beams. A differential amplifier receives the first and second electrical signal outputs, and generates a differential signal output therefrom. A data acquisition unit is used to measure amplitudes of the first and second electrical signal outputs and the differential signal output. A computing unit computes the amplitudes measured by the data acquisition unit to determine a reflectivity, a phase retardation, and a fast axis angle of the imaging plane in the specimen.

Apparatus and methods for retention of computer expansion cards and/or card bay covers inside a card bay of an information handling system chassis, and that may include an expansion card retaining apparatus that includes a pivotable first end configured to attachably rotate relative to a securing surface of the information handling system chassis, a latching second end configured to releasably lock the expansion card retaining apparatus in a locking position that prevents rotation of the expansion card retaining apparatus about the pivotable first end, at least one resiliently deformable coupling section extending between the pivotable first end and the latching second end to maintain the latching second end in the locking position, and a retention section extending between the at least one coupling section and the pivotable first end.

Apparatus and methods for retaining expansion cards

A differential-phase interferometric system includes a polarized heterodyne interferometer for generating reference and signal beam that travel along reference and signal channels, respectively. The signal beam is directed to a specimen and contains measured information of the specimen. The interferometer further generates a first electrical signal output corresponding to first linear polarized waves of the reference and signal beams, and a second electrical signal output corresponding to second linear polarized waves of the reference and signal beams. A differential amplifier receives the first and second electrical signal outputs, and generates a differential signal output therefrom. A data acquisition unit is used to measure amplitudes of the first and second electrical signal outputs and the differential signal output. A computing unit computes the amplitudes measured by the data acquisition unit to determine a phase difference between the electrical signal outputs, which corresponds to the measured information of the specimen.

Differential-phase interferometric system

In a method for measuring an absorption coefficient and a reduced scattering coefficient of a multiple scattering medium, a source light beam is outputted, and is transformed into a transformed light beam that includes a mutually parallel circularly polarized photon pair. The transformed light beam is split into a signal beam, which is focused and projected into the multiple scattering medium to produce a diffused polarized photon pair density wave, and a reference beam, which is converted into a reference heterodyne interference signal. The diffused polarized photon pair density wave is converted into a test heterodyne interference signal. Amplitude attenuation and phase delay of the signal beam that has propagated through the multiple scattering medium is obtained based on the reference and test heterodyne interference signals, from which the absorption coefficient and the reduced scattering coefficient of the multiple scattering medium are inferred.

Method and apparatus for measuring the absorption coefficient and the reduced scattering coefficient of a multiple scattering medium

In a method for measuring absorption and reduced scattering coefficients of a multiple scattering medium, a coherent light beam is outputted. The coherent light beam includes linear polarized P and S wave components having mutually orthogonal polarizations and frequencies &#x3c9;P and &#x3c9;S, respectively. Then, the coherent light beam is split into a signal beam and a reference beam, which include the P wave and S wave components. The signal beam is subsequently projected into the medium. Optical interference signals of the reference beam and the signal beam penetrating the medium are respectively detected and converted into heterodyne interference electrical signals. Thereafter, the two heterodyne interference electrical signals are compared to obtain amplitude attenuation and phase delay of the signal beam penetrating the medium, from which the absorption and reduced scattering coefficients of the medium at a position where the signal beam penetrated the medium are inferred.

Method for measuring the absorption coefficient and the reduced scattering coefficient of a multiple scattering medium

A phase demodulator is used for measuring a phase difference between a phase-modulated test signal and a phase-modulated reference signal having fixed carrier frequencies. The phase demodulator includes an amplitude control device for adjusting amplitudes of the test and reference signals. A differential amplifier receives amplitude-adjusted test and reference signals from the amplitude control device, obtains an intensity difference between the amplitude-adjusted test and reference signals, and amplifies the intensity difference to generate an amplitude-modulated output. An amplitude demodulator demodulates the amplitude-modulated output to obtain an output that is related to the phase difference.

In an optical rotation angle polarimeter for investigating optical activity of a test object, a two-frequency laser source generates a laser beam with two eigen modes of two different temporal frequencies and two orthogonal linear polarized waves. The laser beam is to be passed through the test object. The polarized beam splitter is adapted to receive and split the laser beam, which exits the test object, into first and second orthogonal optical heterodyne interference X-axis and Y-axis components. Each of first and second photo detectors receives a respective one of the first and second orthogonal optical heterodyne interference X-axis and Y-axis components from the polarized beam splitter, and generates a corresponding optical heterodyne interference signal. A signal processor is connected to the first and second photo detectors, and combines the optical heterodyne interference signals therefrom so as to obtain an optical heterodyne interference output. An amplitude detector detects the amplitude of the optical heterodyne interference output, which serves as a measure of the optical activity of the test object. In addition, the laser beam has an adjustable wavelength to permit measurement of dispersion of optical rotation angles versus wavelength for an optically active material or substance.

Optical rotation angle polarimeter

In a method for determining concentration of an optically active substance in a medium, a laser beam with two eigen modes of two different temporal frequencies and two orthogonal linear polarized states is generated and passed through the medium. Then, the laser beam that exits the medium is passed through an analyzing polarizer so as to generate an optical heterodyne of the orthogonal linear polarized states. The amplitude of the optical heterodyne from the analyzing polarizer is detected, and the detected amplitude of the optical heterodyne is converted into the concentration of the optically active substance in the medium. An optical heterodyne-based apparatus for performing the above method is also disclosed. The method and apparatus are suitable for noninvasive in vivo glucose, monitoring of the aqueous humor in an eye of an animal.
