An apparatus for descrambling a data retrieved from an optical storage medium comprises a decoder, a memory and a descramble engine. The decoder decodes the data and generates address information corresponding to an address on the optical storage medium, wherein the address responding to a part of the data having been decoded. The memory stores the address information and the part of the data. The descramble engine continuously descrambles the part of the data by retrieving the address information. A method for descrambling a data retrieved from an optical storage medium comprises the following steps: decoding the data; generating address information corresponding to an address on the optical storage medium; storing the address information and a part of the data having been corrected; and descrambling the part of the data continuously by retrieving the address information after the data decoding is interrupted.

Apparatus for descrambling a data retrieved from an optical storage medium, and method therefor

A system for transferring data read from a data storage medium. The system comprises a memory unit, a controller, a memory management logic, and an output interface. The memory unit stores the data. The controller compares at least one address of the data with at least one defect address and generates a defect notification signal indicating the comparison result. The memory management logic calculates the amount of the data stored in the memory unit for transfer and generates a calculation signal according to the amount of the data and the defect notification signal received from the controller. The output interface retrieves the data from the memory unit and transfers the retrieved data according to the calculation signal received from the memory management logic.

Transfer control method

An embedded system for programming a programmable device including a micro controller and an I/O interface. The programmable device includes a pin set for signal delivery. The micro controller device controls the programmable device via the pin set. The I/O interface receives a program code provided externally. The micro controller executes a command sequence to program the program code into the programmable device via the pin set, and the programmable device uses the program code to provide the specific function. The command sequence may also be provided externally and sent to the micro controller via the well-known general I/O interface.

Embedded system

A programmable system for storage of one-time programmable information comprises an interface translator and a one-time programmable device. The interface translator receives and translates a command code to program code comprising a sequence of write instructions and a designated data block. The one-time programmable device is coupled to the interface translator, programmed by the write instructions to store the designated data block. The one-time programmable device can only be programmed once, such that the designated data block being stored is fully protected.
