A scan method includes providing a scanner, including an image sensor, a reference pattern and a transmission mechanism. The image sensor scans the reference pattern to generate reference data. The transmission mechanism transmits at least one recording media between the reference pattern and the image sensor. Finally, the image sensor generates scan data, and the scanner compares the scan data with the reference data to obtain a transmission condition thereof.

Scan method and scanner utilizing the same

A method for printing data includes the following steps. First, an ink jet printer, having a print head with a black jet and a color jet, for printing a swath of data is provided. Then, the print head is driven to start to print the swath of data on one side of the ink jet printer. Next, the black jet and the color jet are alternately triggered to print corresponding pieces of black data and corresponding pieces of color data in the swath of data. Thereafter, the swath of data is completely printed when the print head is driven to the other side of ink jet printer.

An image processing method of an image processing system. The image processing system has a memory for storing programs and a picture image, and a processor for executing the programs stored in the memory. The picture image has a plurality of pixels. The method has three steps. The first step is to find at least one image area with a predetermined characteristic from the picture image according to a predetermined image area detecting method. The second step is to define a boundary area around the image area according to a predetermined boundary area defining method. A printing device includes a print unit for printing data. In each printing procedure, the printer separates at least a printing division from a path that the print unit passes through in the printing procedure and determines if the path includes a non-printing division according to the print data. The printer controls the print unit to move at a first velocity and print the document when the print unit passes through the printing division. If the path includes a non-printing division, the printer controls the print unit to stop printing the document and to move at a second velocity within the non-printing division when the print unit passes through the non-printing division.

An image processing system has a memory for storing programs, an unprocessed image and a processor for executing the programs in the memory. The image is a plurality of pixels arranged as a matrix, and each pixel has several color parameters. The image has at least one image region. One of the color parameters is adjusted according to an initial image adjusting value. Then, in one direction of up, down, left or right, the image adjusting value is successively changed by adding a fixed value, or multiplying by a fixed factor. Each successive pixel has its color parameter adjusted by adding the image adjusting value to it. Image adjustment proceeds in this way from the image region to an outer region along the predetermined direction.

A single-button support mechanism is provided to improve a turning means joining an upper portion and a body of a device. The support mechanism constructs a pivot and a holding groove at the upper portion and, at the body, a cam trough, a button groove, and another groove for accommodating a retaining member to further hold a first spring. The cam is formed as saw type teeth at a peripheral thereof, and each tooth of the cam has a notch engageable with a position button. By applying the single-button support mechanism, the turning means can utilize the cam moving in the cam trough for engaging with the upper portion at a selected angle, and utilize the position button movable in the button groove for controlling the opening or closing of the upper portion.

An image reading apparatus that includes an image scanning module in which an image sensor device is provided. The image reading apparatus includes an upper housing and a pattern located on the bottom surface of the upper housing and positioned at a position x with reference to the edge of the opening. The upper housing has a bottom surface and is provided with an opening for mounting a transparent platen adapted for supporting a document to be scanned. The opening defines an edge. Responsive to detection of the pattern by the image sensor device, the image reading apparatus determines the distance required to move by the scanning module to reach a predetermined positioning line.

A method for positioning the initialization position of a light source for an image reading apparatus operated under a passing-light mode is provided. A platen including a reference area that provides a pattern disposed at a position x is provided. The method comprises a first step of positioning the scan model at the position x in order to read the pattern within the reference area. Secondly, the method moves the light source toward the reference area and, at the same time, triggers the scan module to scan the image. Thirdly, repeat the second step until the image scanned by the scan module meets a pre-determined criterion. Fourthly, the method makes the light source module further move a distance of .DELTA.D-.DELTA.d. The .DELTA.d is the distance traveled by the light source during an interval which begins at the capture of the pattern by the scan module and ends at the determination of the pre-determined criterion as being met.
