A wireless communication device includes a shell having a first shielding surface for shielding electromagnetic waves, a data processing module, a wireless communication module connected to the data processing module, and an antenna module disposed on the shell and connected to the wireless communication module. The antenna module has a first antenna unit and a second antenna unit. The first shielding surface shields the first antenna unit from the second antenna unit.

Communication device and related antenna module

A multifrequency inverted-F antenna includes a radiating element having opposite first and second ends, a grounding element spaced apart from the radiating element, and an interconnecting element extending between the radiating and grounding elements and including first, second, and third parts. The first part is connected to the radiating element at a feeding point between the first and second ends. The second part is offset from the first part in a longitudinal direction, and is connected to the grounding element. The third part interconnects the first and second parts. A feeding line is connected to the interconnecting element.

Multifrequency inverted-F antenna

A gain-adjustable antenna has at least a first antenna unit with a first radiation element and a second antenna unit with a second radiation element. The first and second antenna units are detachably connected by way of connecting the first and second radiation element to form an array antenna to adjust the gain and the radiation pattern.

Gain-adjustable antenna

A laptop computer with an embedded antenna is disclosed. The laptop computer contains an LCD panel and an antenna embedded inside the LCD panel. The antenna is embedded in the gap between the covering of the LCD panel and the frame supporting the LCD on the LCD panel. The ground surface of the antenna is effectively extended through incorporating the conducting surface on the back of the LCD. When the LCD panel is opened the antenna is at a distance above the operating surface of the laptop computer and produces omni-directional radiation pattern in the horizontal plane.

Computer with an embedded antenna

Disclosed is an electronic device having wireless communication functions via a pair of antennas. The device can function under two operating states, both with an omni-directional radiation pattern in the horizontal plane. This is accomplished by an antenna pair mounted separately thereon, the first antenna thereof being omni-directional in the horizontal plane when the device is operative under the first operating state, and the second antenna thereof being omni-directional in the horizontal plane when the device is operative under the second operating state. Also included in the device are a wireless communication module for encoding and decoding signals that are transmitted and received, respectively, during wireless communication through the antenna pair; a RF switch coupling the wireless communication module to the first antenna and second antenna for switching between the first antenna and second antenna; and a trigger switch for detecting the transition of the electronic device between the first operating state and second operating state that causes rotation in space of the antenna pair, and for triggering the RF switch in responsive thereto. The RF switch switches to the first antenna as the electronic device transitions to the first operating state, and the RF switch switches to the second antenna as the electronic device transitions to the second operating state.

Switchable omni-directional antennas for wireless device

A multi-patch antenna that can transmit radio signals with two frequencies includes a PCB and two stacked-patches. The PCB includes a substrate, a metal layer formed on an upper side of the substrate, and a microstrip line formed on a lower side of the substrate for transmitting radio signals to two slots. The radio signals resonate within the two slots and the stacked-patches, and are then emitted from the stacked-patches in a direction normal to the stacked-patches.

Multi-patch antenna which can transmit radio signals with two frequencies

An antenna structure in the shape of a conducting plate for radiating and receiving electromagnetic signals and having a first opening for producing electromagnetic resonance at a first frequency band and a second opening for producing electromagnetic resonance at a second frequency band. A coaxial cable is used to feed signals of both frequency bands to the antenna across the first opening. The first opening can be on a deflected part of the conducting plate relative to the second opening.

Dual band slot antenna

A multifrequency antenna for a wireless communications system includes a metallic plate having a slot. The slot is used for transmitting and receiving radio signals of a first frequency band. The length of the slot corresponds to the first frequency band at which signals are transmitted and received. The antenna also includes a metallic strip connected to the metallic plate for transmitting and receiving radio signals of a second frequency band. The metallic strip may be formed as an L-shaped strip. The length of the horizontal portion of the L-shaped strip corresponds to the second frequency band at which signals are transmitted and received.

Multifrequency antenna with a slot-type conductor and a strip-shaped conductor

The object of the present invention is to provide an antenna pair that has the advantages of easy installation and improved gain. According to the present invention, the antenna pair consists of two slot antennas formed on a metallic strip and sharing a common portion of the strip as the grounding unit. The grounding portions of the antennas join together to become the grounding unit so as to increase the effective antenna aperture for both of the antennas and to raise their gains. As the antennas are combined into one, it is more manageable and handy for installation. The grounding unit can be further extended to allow greater improvement. The strip on which the slot antennas are formed is curved to have the antennas orthogonal to each other. The orthogonality brings about the space diversity effect and prevents the occurrence of any null in the radiation pattern of the antennas.

Space diversity slot antennas and apparatus using the same

An antenna includes a conductive radiating plate unit, a conductive grounding plate unit vertically spaced apart from and electrically connected to the radiating plate unit, and a conductive signal feeding leg electrically connected to the radiating plate unit and spaced apart from the grounding plate unit. At least one of the radiating plate unit and the grounding plate unit is extendable.

Antenna for an electronic device

An antenna apparatus for providing wireless communication comprise a first antenna plate, a second antenna plate and a matched circuit. The matched circuit has a front line and a transferring line so as to be formed as an appropriate impedance between the first antenna plate and the second antenna plate, wherein one end of the transferring line is coupled to the front line forming a T shaped converging portion having a first feedback point and a second feedback point. The first antenna plate has an electrical foot connecting to the first feedback point and a ground foot connecting to the ground. Similarly, the second antenna plate has an electrical foot connecting to the second feedback point and a ground foot connecting to the ground.

Antenna apparatus

This invention relates to an antenna for a portable device. The portable device comprises a display, a host. In addition, a hinge is provided to connect the display and the host such that the display can be rotated relative to the host. Therefore, the portable device can be opened and closed accordingly. Furthermore, a receiver is installed within the hinge so that an antenna can be fixed in the hinge. Thereby, wireless transmitting of the portable device can be achieved through the antenna.
