A nanoemulsion having reversible continuous and dispersed phases. The nanoemulsion includes an aqueous phase and an oil phase, a weight ratio of the aqueous phase to the oil phase being 1:40-100:1. In the nanoemulsion, the aqueous phase is dispersed as nanosized droplets in the oil phase or the oil phase is dispersed as nanosized droplets in the aqueous phase. The aqueous phase contains water or a water solution and a water-soluble organic nanostructure stabilizer. The oil phase contains an oil or an oil solution, an organic gel thickener, and a hydrophilic surfactant having a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance value greater than 8.0. Also disclosed is a method for preparing the above-described nanoemulsion.

Nanoemulsions having reversible continuous and dispersed phases

A composition containing a plurality of water-soluble nanoclusters ranging from 2 nm to 500 nm in diameter. Each of the nanoclusters contains one or more metal cations, one or more anions, and one or more water-soluble ligands. Also disclosed is a method of using the composition for treating various disorders such as anemia, heartburn, and diabetes.

Metal ion nanoclusters

A metal ion nanocluster having a formula of X(OH)YZM(HO). X, Y, Z, M, a, b, c, d, and e are defined herein. The nanocluster has a particle size of 2 to 500 nm and a molecular weight of 3500 to 1000000 Dalton. Also disclosed are a composition containing the nanocluster and a method of preparing the nanocluster.

Freeze-dried pharamceutical compositions of antitumor phenylquinoline carboxylic acids, such as 6-fluoro-2-(2'-fluoro-1'-biphenyl-4-yl)-3-methyl-4-quinolinecarboxylic acid, sodium salt, reconstitutable to stable, aqueous, injectable compositions are provided. These compositions use a stabilization system consisting essentially of bile salt, such as sodium cholate or sodium desoxycholate, and a base or buffer that will provide a pH of about 8.5-11 upon a aqueous reconstitution. Glycine is the preferred buffer.

An aqueous antacid composition of magaldrate gel and a process for preparing same are described by the invention. The composition is prepared from and contains precipitated and undried magaldrate gel and a fluidizing of a first and second fluidizer. On fluidizer is provided by an aluminum hydroxide gel having colloidal properties and the second by a pharmaceutically acceptable citrate ion source including citric acid. The process and composition are characterized in providing a fluid, resuspendible, pharmaceutically elegant suspension possessing high antacid capacity and stability at even elevated magaldrate concentrations in addition to the ability to fluidize stiff, paste-like magaldrate gel cakes.

An rehydratable antacid composition of magaldrate gel and a process for preparing same are described by the invention. The composition is prepared from and contains precipitated and undried magaldrate gel, a polyhydric alcohol and fluidizing amounts of a first and second fluidizer. One fluidizer is provided by an aluminum hydroxide gel having colloidal properties and the second by a pharmaceutically acceptable citrate ion source including citric acid. The process and composition are characterized in providing rehydratable antacid composition which when admixed with water forms a fluid, resuspendible, pharmaceutically elegant suspension possessing high antacid capacity and stability at even elevated magaldrate concentrations in addition to the ability to fluidize stiff, paste-like magaldrate gel cakes.
