A power connector includes an insulative housing, at least a pair of power contacts assembled to the at least one contact-receiving passage. The pair of power contacts are arranged oppositely along an up-to-down direction and cooperating with each other. Each of the at least a pair of power contacts includes a cable termination portion, a contacting portion and an intermediate portion connecting the cable termination portion and the contacting portion. One lateral edge of the intermediate portion is a first latching portion, and the other lateral edge of the intermediate portion is a second latching portion. Thus, when the pair of power contacts are assembled together, the first latching portion of one power contact cooperates with the second latching portion of the other power contact, while the second latching portion of the one power contacts cooperates with the first latching portion of the other power contact to form a hollow frame therebetween along an up-to-down direction.

Power connector assembly

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of contacts retained in the insulative housing and a pair of latch members located at lateral sides of the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a mating portion, a mounting portion and a number of passageways extending therethrough to receive the contacts. Each latch member includes a pivot portion connected to corresponding lateral side of the insulative housing, a locking arm extending forwardly from the pivot portion and a driving portion extending backwardly from the pivot portion. The locking arms are capable of pivoting outwardly along a horizontal direction to a release status under condition that the driving portions are inwardly pressed. With the dual latch members, the electrical connector can be much reliable in locking with a mateable connector.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, at least one conductive contact, a limiting element and a fastening element. The insulative housing defines an upper first receiving passage and a lower second receiving passage spaced from the first receiving passage along an up-to-down direction by a horizontal first partition wall, and a first restriction section and a second restriction section. The at least one conductive contact is received in the first and second receiving passages, and partially received in the first restriction section and the second restriction section. The limiting element is received in the second restriction section. The fastening element is received in the second receiving passage and located below the limiting element to cooperate with the limiting element to fasten the at least one conductive contact with the insulative housing. The fastening element defines at least one contact-restriction section in at least on sidewall thereof.

A power connector in accordance with the present invention includes an insulative housing including a main body and at least two mating ports, a number of power contacts received in the insulative housing. At least one mating port includes an anti-mismating portion protruding outwardly from an outer surface thereof and extending along a mating direction of the power connector.
