Styrene-acrylate toner composition

A method for improving z-axis strength of a 3D printed object is disclosed. For example, the method includes printing a three-dimensional (3D) object with a polymer and magnetic particles, heating the 3D object to a temperature at approximately a melting temperature of the polymer, and applying a magnetic field to the 3D object to locally move the magnetic particles in the polymer to generate heat and fuse the polymer around the magnetic particles to improve a z-axis strength of the 3D object.

Methods for forming latexes are provided. In embodiments, such a method comprises adding a first portion of a monomer emulsion comprising water, a monomer, an acidic monomer, a multifunctional monomer, and a first reactive surfactant to a reactive surfactant solution comprising water and a second reactive surfactant to form a reaction mixture, wherein the reactive surfactant solution does not comprise monomers other than the second reactive surfactant; adding a first portion of an initiator solution to the reaction mixture so that monomers undergo polymerization reactions to form resin seeds in the reaction mixture; adding a second portion of the monomer emulsion to the reaction mixture comprising the resin seeds; and adding a second portion of the initiator solution to the reaction mixture to form a latex comprising resin particles.

Seeded emulsion polymerization process for latexes and aqueous inkjet ink compositions made therefrom

According to various embodiments, there is provided a toner composition and a developer. The toner composition includes toner particles including a resin, a colorant; and a surface additive applied to a surface of the toner particles. The surface additive includes polyaniline doped strontium titanate (SrTiO).

Toner surface additive

Fluorescent green toners are provided. In embodiments, a fluorescent green toner comprises fluorescent agent-incorporated resin particles comprising a resin, a fluorescence brightener, and a yellow fluorescent agent having an absorption spectrum that overlaps with a fluorescence emission spectrum of the fluorescence brightener; and a cyan colorant; blue dye-incorporated resin particles comprising the resin and a blue dye; or both. The fluorescent green toner has a weight ratio of the yellow fluorescent agent to the cyan colorant and, if present, the blue dye, in a range of from 100:1 to 0.2:1, and the fluorescent green toner exhibits F&#xf6;rster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) under illumination with UV light. Methods of making and using the fluorescent green toners are also provided.

Fluorescent green toners with enhanced brightness

Methods of making a fluorescent white toner are provided. In embodiments, such a method comprises forming one or more fluorescent latexes which comprise a fluorescent agent, a first type of amorphous resin, and a second type of amorphous resin, wherein the first and second types of amorphous resins are present at a ratio in a range of from 2:3 to 3:2; forming a mixture comprising the one or more fluorescent latexes; a dispersion comprising a white colorant and a surfactant; one or more emulsions which comprise a crystalline resin, the first type of amorphous resin, the second type of amorphous resin; and optionally, a wax dispersion; aggregating the mixture to form particles of a predetermined size; forming a shell over the particles of the predetermined size to form core-shell particles; and coalescing the core-shell particles to form a fluorescent white toner. The fluorescent white toners and methods of using such toners are also provided.

Fluorescent white toners and related methods

According to various embodiments, there is provided a toner composition and a developer. The toner composition includes toner particles including a resin, a colorant, a charge control agent, and a surface additive applied to a surface of the toner particles. The surface additive includes strontium titanate (SrTiO), silica (SiO), silicon tetrachloride (SiCl) and a charge control agent.

A toner including a parent toner particle comprising at least one resin, in combination with an optional colorant, and an optional wax; and a surface additive formulation comprising at least one medium silica surface additive; at least one large silica surface additive; at least one positive charging surface additive, wherein the at least one positive charging surface additive is (a) a titanium dioxide surface additive; and wherein the parent toner particles further contain a small silica; or (b) a non-titanium dioxide positive charging metal oxide surface additive; and wherein the parent toner particles further optionally contain a small silica; and wherein a total surface area coverage of all of the surface additives combined is 100 to 140 percent of the parent toner particle surface area.

Toner including toner additive formulation

A toner composition including a first wax; a second wax that is different from the first wax; wherein the first wax comprises a paraffin wax; wherein the second wax comprises a polymethylene wax; at least one polyester; and an optional colorant.
