An injection device includes a housing, a plunger, and a heating unit. The plunger is slidably arranged within the housing thereby performing a plunging movement therein. The heating unit is disposed within the housing for generating a heat energy inside the housing such that a filling material inside the housing can be soften and be transformed into a movable filling material with viscosity by absorbing the heat energy from the heating unit.

Injection device and heating unit thereof

An apparatus for generating a pulse train with an adjustable time interval is provided. The apparatus, being an annular optical cavity structure, includes a seed source receiving end, a pump source receiving end, an optical coupler, an optical combiner, a gain fiber, an optical path time regulator and a beam splitter. Thus, the apparatus is capable of generating a pulse train with an adjustable time interval to increase material processing quality and speed.

An ultrafast laser generating system comprises a laser signal generator, a laser signal amplifier and a beam splitting element. The laser signal generator is configured to generate a first nanosecond pulse laser. The laser amplifier is configured to amplify the first nanosecond pulse laser from the laser signal generator so as to generate a second nanosecond pulse laser, which includes a picosecond pulse laser. The beam splitting element is configured to receive the second nanosecond pulse laser and split the picosecond pulse laser from the second nanosecond pulse laser.

Ultrafast laser generating system and method thereof

An optical fiber with filtering thin film includes a first ferrule having a first through hole and a first contact surface. A first fiber is disposed into the first through hole, extending to the first contact surface. A first interface coupling material is between the first ferrule and the first fiber. A second ferrule has a second through hole and a second contact surface. A second fiber is disposed into the second through hole, extending to the second contact surface. A second interface coupling material is between the second ferrule and the second fiber. The first contact surface and the second contact surface are parallel and have an included tilt angle from a perpendicular transverse plane of first fiber. An optical filtering film is disposed between the first contact surface and the second contact surface. The first fiber and the second fiber are aligned.

A fiber laser device includes a laser pump for irradiating a laser beam, an optical component, an optical fiber and an optical sensor. The optical component has a first and a second output end, wherein a portion of the laser beam is output from the first output end and another portion of the laser beam is output from the second output end. The optical fiber including a core and a cladding layer is optically coupled between the laser pump and the optical component. A inclined angle &#x3b8; of the first output end satisfies the following relations that &#x3b8;/2&#x2266;&#x3b8;&#x2266;&#x3b8;, and &#x3b8;=sin(NA&#xb7;n/n), where NA is numerical aperture of optical fiber, nis refractive index of the core, and nis refractive index of the cladding layer. The optical sensor is disposed at a light-transmission path of the laser beam reflected by the first output end.

Fiber laser device

A three-port optical polarization combiner is disclosed. It is used for combining two optical pump beams to increase optical pumping power in a DWDM optic fiber transmission system. The combiner will combine two beams with orthogonal polarizations into one and transmit it to another port for output. By non-reciprocal effect of a half-wave plate and a Faraday rotator, the reverse noise will be blocked to improve transmission quality and protect the laser lens.

Three-port optical polarization combiner

This specification discloses a light signal interleaver, which can separate a light signal into two light signals with a large interval in between. A birefringent plate is used as a light signal interleaver to separate all wavelengths in a light signal into an O-ray and an E-ray. Therefore, the invention can increase the total transmission capacity under the existent network structure.

Optical signal interleaver

An optical switch is disclosed. A lock magnetic field is provided on the sides of a rotator with a magnetic surface. The magnetic field has a potential with two minima as reflective and non-reflective positions. At the reflective position, the reflective mirror on the rotator reflects light beams. The beam goes through when the rotator is at the non-reflective position. At the same time, the magnetic field firmly locks the rotator at its position. When a driving force is imposed on the rotator; it rotates from its current position to the other position and gets locked at the new position.

Optical switch

An electric optical fiber grating has a central wavelength. The central wavelength of an optical fiber grating can be adjusted under strain. The filter includes a bimetal plate, an elastic structure and an solenoid to achieve the goal of switching the central wavelength of an optical fiber grating. Meanwhile, the bimetal plate can also provide proper passive compensation according to the temperature effect around them so that it is not necessary for the optical fiber grating that can switch central wavelengths, to monitor and conduct feedback control at all times. Thus it does not consume power. Therefore, the electric optical fiber grating filter can both achieve the goal of switching central wavelengths and has the advantage of not being sensitive to temperature.

The invention provides a compact optical circulator with three ports positioning between a dual-core collimator and a single-core collimator. The inventive circulator has a propagation director to couple a light from the dual-core collimator to one port of the circulator and another light form the other port of the circulator to the dual-core collimator. The invention further provides a compact optical circulator with three ports having a reflective compensator. The reflective compensator compensates the optical path length of two polarized beams. Furthermore, the invention eliminates the polarization mode dispersion by utilizing a reflective compensator. As well, the inventive circulator forgoes use of the reciprocal polarizing-rotating unit, thus reducing production costs.

Compact optical circulator with three ports

The invention provides an optical circulator that comprises three ports with the property that light entered through the nth port is output through the (n&plus;1)th port. It can be applied to optical fiber transmission of optical signals. It uses a reflector to make a two-core fiber collimator to be a first port and a second port of the optical circulator so as to minimize the optical circulator volume and to simplify the assembly procedure. A reciprocal crystal and a non-reciprocal crystal are combined to form an optical polarization controller to conquer such technical problems as the conjugate angle of the two-core collimator and the minimal polarization mode dispersion. In particular, the corresponding relation between the Faraday rotator and the birefringent crystal optical axis can be utilized to remove half-wave plates used in ordinary optical circulators, thus lowering manufacturing costs and complexities.

Optical circulator

The present invention pertains to a polarization independent tunable acousto-optical filter and the corresponding method. The filter diffracts an input light beam into a first input light beam unaffected by acoustic waves and a second input light beam affected by acoustic waves. A polarization beam displacer/combiner is employed to separate the input light beam into two orthogonal beams. Several polarized rotators are used to rotate the polarization of light by 90 degrees. An acousto-optical device makes the polarization of light with a particular wavelength rotate by 90 degrees. The two beams are then properly combined to form orthogonal beams. The filtering method has nothing to do with the polarization of the incident light. The filter has such advantages as a high extinction ratio, a small volume and a lower cost.

Polarization independent tunable acousto-optical filter and the method of the same

The invention provides a structure of tunable optical filter grating. The structure includes a bimetallic strip and a compression spring to set up suitable strain for adjusting the position of the central wavelength. The bimetallic strip can also be specially designed to compensate for any drift in central wavelength due to temperature change so that temperature monitoring and feedback control designs is obsolete. Therefore, the operating wavelength of the optical grating is adjustable yet insensitive to temperature changes.

Tunable optical fiber grating

The invention describes a structure for an optical fiber grating package. The structure has a fiber grating that is mounted on a multi-layer metal plate. The fiber grating is formed on a fiber in the desired portion. Two ends of the fiber grating are secured to the two ends of the multi-layer metal plate. The multi-layer metal plate includes, for example, a bimetal plate and a thinner metal plate on the bimetal plate. The thinner metal plate is used to reduce the thermal expansion effect on the fiber grating. The structure further includes an adjusting plate located on the multi-layer metal plate on the side where the fiber grating is mounted so that the adjusting plate, serving as a pad, can lift the fiber of the fiber grating. The adjusting plate is also located a position between the grating portion of the fiber grating and one secured end of the fiber grating. As a result, a grating pitch of the fiber grating can be further precisely adjusted by shifting the relative location of the adjusting plate to causing a necessary tension of the fiber. The multi-layer metal plate with the fiber grating is held by a metal substrate.
