A method and a driving circuit for driving a current-driven active matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) pixel are provided. A driving power source is used to pre-charge the capacitor before a current source charges/discharges a capacitor connected to a driving thin film transistor of the pixel. Therefore, an insufficient brightness problem during displaying a low gray can be solved.

A method for fabricating an active-matrix organic electroluminescent (OEL) display panel is described. A transparent conductive layer is formed on a substrate as a common anode for all organic light emitting diodes (OLED), and a passivation layer is formed on the transparent conductive layer. Thin film transistors are formed on the passivation layer to serve as an active matrix, and openings are formed in the passivation layer to expose portions of the transparent conductive layer and define pixel regions. An organic function layer is formed in each opening, and a metal electrode layer is formed on each organic function layer, wherein the metal electrode layer is electrically connected with the drain of the corresponding thin film transistor.

Fabricating method of an active-matrix organic electroluminescent display panel

An apparatus and method for providing switched power to an AMOLED is disclosed. During certain time intervals, voltage and/or polarity provided to active devices such as thin film transistors (TFT) driving the AMOLEDs may be changed to reverse polarity or differ in absolute magnitude of voltage. During a subsequent time interval, the changed power may be changed again and/or reverted to an original state. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. Active-matrix organic electroluminescent display panel and fabricating method thereof

A top emission active matrix organic light-emitting display device is provided. The display device has a metallic-shielding layer underneath an anode layer so that light from an organic light-emitting layer is prevented from penetrating into the channel layer of a thin film transistor to induce a photoelectric leakage current. The metallic shielding layer also permits the extension of the anode layer into area above the thin film transistor so that light-emitting area of each pixel structure is increased. High conductivity of the shielding layer is also utilized to boost the electrical conductivity of the anode layer so that the device carries a uniform current resulting in a longer working life.
