A driving method for a liquid crystal display device is provided. The liquid crystal display device has a wide viewing angle mode and a narrow viewing angle mode. The driving method includes: in the wide viewing angle mode, all the frames of the liquid crystal display device have the same display brightness; in the narrow viewing angle mode, the odd frames and the even frames of the liquid crystal display device have different display brightness. In the narrow viewing angle mode of the liquid crystal display device, by using an alternate driving method of bright frames and dark frames, the mura degree is significantly reduced, and the smoothness of dynamic picture display is improved, thereby improving the use experience of users.

Driving method for liquid crystal display device

A viewing angle switchable liquid crystal display device includes a display panel. The display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate disposed opposite the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The second substrate is provided with a first electrode and a second electrode. The first electrode is a common electrode, and the second electrode is a pixel electrode. The first substrate is provided with a third electrode for controlling the switching of the viewing angle. A periodic alternating voltage is applied to the third electrode when the viewing angle of the liquid crystal display device is switched, and a period of the periodic alternating voltage is an even multiple of a refresh period of each frame of the display panel.

Viewing angle switchable liquid crystal display device and viewing angle switching method

A method for driving a liquid crystal display device capable of switching between a wide viewing angle and a narrow viewing angle. In a first viewing angle mode, a direct-current common voltage is applied to a common electrode and voltage signals are applied to a first bias electrode and a second bias electrode. In a second viewing angle mode, a direct-current common voltage is applied to the common electrode, a first alternating-current voltage is applied to the first bias electrode and a second alternating-current voltage is applied to the second bias electrode. In addition, in the second viewing angle mode, pixel units covered by each first electrode strip of the first bias electrode have alternating positive and negative polarities, and pixel units covered by each second electrode strip of the second bias electrode have alternating positive and negative polarities.

Method for driving liquid crystal display device capable of switching between wide viewing angle and narrow viewing angle

A touch display panel with switchable viewing angles includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate is provided with a viewing angle control electrode. The second substrate is provided with a common electrode and a sensing circuit layer. The common electrode includes a plurality of electrode blocks arranged in an array and insulated from each other. The sensing circuit layer includes a plurality of sensing lines insulated from each other. The sensing lines are electrically connected to the electrode blocks in a one-to-one correspondence, respectively. Each frame of the display panel is divided into a display period and a touch period. The electrode blocks of the common electrode are used for image display during the display period, and the electrode blocks of the common electrode are used for touch sensing during the touch period.

Touch display panel and touch display device with switchable viewing angles

A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate includes a first transparent substrate including a first surface and a second surface, a color filter layer formed on the first surface of the first transparent substrate, a first alignment film formed on the color filter layer, and a first electrode interlayered in the color filter layer. The second substrate includes a second transparent substrate comprising a third surface and a fourth surface, a second electrode and a third electrode formed on the third surface of the second transparent substrate sequentially, and a second alignment film is formed on the third electrode. The second electrode and the third electrode are arranged at different insulation layers respectively and electrically insulated with each other. The LCD device of the present invention has an improved transmittance and a fast response time.

A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate opposite to the first substrate, and a liquid crystal (LC) layer sandwiched between the two substrates. The first substrate includes gate lines and data lines, and the gate lines and the data lines data lines are intersected with each other to define pixel areas. Each of the pixel areas includes a pixel electrode and first common electrodes arranged at different layers, and the first common electrodes are electrically coupled to each other. The second substrate includes a second common electrode, and the LC layer comprises negative LC molecules.

The first substrate comprises multiple scanning lines and multiple data lines intercrossed with the multiple scanning lines to define multiple pixel areas. Each pixel area comprises multiple electrically interconnected first electrodes and multiple electrically interconnected second electrodes. The first electrodes and the second electrodes are disposed on different layers and mutually intersected to define multiple sub-pixel areas. Each sub-pixel area further comprises two protrusion-shaped patterns facing each other on two adjacent first electrodes where the first electrodes and the second electrodes are not overlapped. An angle within a range of 5-20 degrees is defined between the vertex connection direction of the two protrusion-shaped patterns facing each other and the rubbing direction of the first and second alignment films.

A liquid crystal display device comprises a first and a second substrates which are oppositely configured, and a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween, the first substrate comprising a transparent substrate and a plurality of scanning lines and data lines formed on the transparent substrate, the plurality of scanning lines and data lines crosswise defining a plurality of pixel regions. Each pixel region comprises at least two electrode groups and a third transparent electrode provided between the two adjacent electrode groups, each electrode group comprising a first and a second transparent electrodes alternately located on different layers. During operation of the liquid crystal display device, a fringe field is generated between the first and the second transparent electrodes, and a horizontal electric filed is generated between the first and the third transparent electrodes so as to enhance the transmittance of the whole liquid crystal display device.

A thin film transistor array substrate comprises a transparent substrate, and scanning lines, data lines and pixel regions that are formed on the transparent substrate. Each pixel region comprises a pixel electrode, a thin film transistor for controlling the pixel electrode, a first push alignment electrode and a second push alignment electrode. Projections of the first and second push alignment electrodes on the transparent substrate are located on two opposite sides of the pixel electrode. The pixel electrode is covered with an insulation layer and the insulation layer is provided with a pull alignment opening. When the thin film transistor array substrate is in operation, an oblique pull electric field is formed at the pull alignment opening, and transverse push electric fields are formed between the first push alignment electrode and the pixel electrode as well as between the second push alignment electrode and the pixel electrode, respectively.

A low color shift liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided. The liquid crystal display comprises a plurality of data lines; a plurality of scanning lines arranged across the plurality of data lines, two adjacent scanning lines and two adjacent data lines arranged across the two adjacent scanning lines together defining a pixel region; and a plurality of pixels each comprising a first and a second sub-pixels. The first sub-pixel is connected to a first scanning line of the two adjacent scanning lines, the second sub-pixel includes a compensation capacitor, which is coupled to a second scanning line of the two adjacent scanning lines. Thereby a voltage difference can be maintained between the two sub-pixels under the same driving condition, and the voltage difference can be easily adjusted by suitably changing the waveforms of scanning drive signals on the scanning lines.

A liquid crystal display panel is disclosed, including: a first substrate; a second substrate opposite to the first substrate; a plurality of first, second and third spacers disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, the distribution density of the first spacers being larger than that of the second spacers and the distribution density of the third spacers being larger than that of the first spacers. The liquid crystal display panel can effectively reduce image display defects caused by the gravity mura, the press mura and the push mura.

An array substrate of a liquid crystal display, comprising a first scan line and a second scan line, a first data line and a second data line arranged crossing with the first scan line and the second scan line to define a pixel region, and a pixel electrode in the pixel region, wherein the second data line comprises at least a first branch and a second branch that are electrically connected to each other. According to the invention, it is not necessary to provide the array substrate with additional space for disposing repair lines, and the non-display region is therefore not increased, resulting in an increased yield. Only a short length of repair lines is used in repair, and thus both electrical resistance of repair line and distortion of data signals can be reduced.
