A magnetic shield reduces external noise in a chamber including a target and at least one electromagnet for copper physical vapor deposition (PVD). The shield may have a thickness in a range from approximately 0.1 mm to approximately 10 mm to provide sufficient protection from radio frequency and other electromagnetic signals. As a result, copper atoms in the chamber undergo less re-direction from external noise. Additionally, even when hardware failure occurs during PVD (e.g., an electromagnet malfunctions, a wafer stage is not level, and/or a flow optimizer induces too much shift, among other examples), the copper atoms are less susceptible to small re-directions from external noise. As a result, back end of line (BEOL) and/or middle end of line (MEOL) conductive structures are formed in a more uniform manner, which increases conductivity and improves lifetime of an electronic device including the BEOL and/or MEOL conductive structures.

An apparatus for automatically cleaning a nozzle of a gas supply system is provided. The apparatus includes a carrier with a gas inlet that is adapted to sealingly mate with the nozzle of the gas supply system and an automated nozzle cleaning system in the carrier. The automated nozzle cleaning system includes a first nozzle cleaning device, a second nozzle cleaning device, and a function switching plate. The function switching plate comprises a plurality of through holes, a first through hole of the plurality of through holes is configured to engage the first nozzle cleaning device with the gas inlet when the function switching plate is positioned at a first position, and a second through hole of the plurality of through holes is configured to engage the second nozzle cleaning device with the gas inlet when the function switching plate is positioned at a second position.

A semiconductor component burn-in test module includes a burn-in board and an external power transmission component. The burn-in board includes a plurality of burn-in seats, wherein a plurality of chips are disposed on the burn-in seats. The external power transmission component is arranged at opposite two sides of the burn-in board, where the external power transmission component includes a plurality of conductive members and a plurality of terminal seats. The burn-in board is provided with a plurality of wirings corresponding to the external power transmission component. As such, electric power can be conveyed to the plural burn-in seats of the burn-in board, through the plural terminal seats and the plural conductive strips. This decreases the length and the number of copper foil wirings in the burn-in boards for power transmission, so as to lower the cost of the burn-in boards. A wireless communication method includes setting at least one specific subfield of a control field in a report frame, and transmitting the report frame to an access point for communicating with the access point on uplink (UL) Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA). In addition, the wireless communication method is performed by a program code loaded from a storage device of a wireless communication device and executed by a processor of the wireless communication device.

A method of managing bandwidth resources provided by multiple network interfaces is proposed. When one or more network interfaces provide network bandwidth resources, a bandwidth manager manages all available bandwidth resources based on a list of decision criteria. The list of decision criteria includes energy efficiency, network throughput, channel condition, device mobility, and user preference. An application traffic flow distributor dynamically adjusts the amount of traffic flows on different network interfaces according to the joint decision based on the decision criteria. A network interface manager dynamically enables or disables each network interface according to the joint decision based on the decision criteria. Furthermore, a device movement analyzer analyzes and predicts device movement to facilitate accurate decision making of the bandwidth management.

Method and apparatus for heterogeneous communication

A method of supporting group communication over LTE MBMS is provided. A UE first establishes a unicast Evolved Packet Service (EPS) bearer in an LTE network for group communication. The UE belongs to a communication group having a communication group ID. The UE receives access information from the network for monitoring downlink (DL) multicast traffic of the DL group communication based on a multicast decision. The UE is then ready for monitoring a multicast Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) bearer for receiving the DL multicast traffic. The multicast MBMS bearer is associated with a Temporary Mobile Group Identifier (TMGI), and wherein the TMGI is associated with the communication group ID. In one embodiment, the access information comprises mapping information between the TMGI and the communication group ID.

Methods and apparatus are provided to measure, estimate throughput of wireless network for traffic offload. In one novel aspect, the UE determines the association status of a radio access network (RAN). The UE measures or estimates the end-to-end throughput of the RAN. In one embodiment, non-intrusive estimation by QoS probing request is used. In another embodiment, direct measurement with modeling is used. The modeling uses admission control/scheduling. In another embodiment, estimation or probing the metrics with or without modeling is used with either in-band probing or non-intrusive probing. In yet another embodiment, the throughput is obtained based on network signaling messages. In another novel aspect, the UE selects a dynamic measurement or estimation algorithm based on the association status and the QoS type of the traffic. Admission control procedure or binary admission procedure is used with the initial bandwidth request based on association status.

Dynamic algorithms for WLAN-cellular performance estimation, access selection, and traffic offload

A method includes depositing spacers at a plurality of locations directly on a back contact layer over a solar cell substrate. An absorber layer is formed over the back contact layer and the spacers. The absorber layer is partially in contact with the spacers and partially in direct contact with the back contact layer. The solar cell substrate is heated to form voids between the absorber layer and the back contact layer at the locations of the spacers.

A method for reducing power consumption when a communications apparatus establishes voice communications with another communications apparatus includes estimating a voice quality perceived by a user of the another communications apparatus; determining whether the estimated voice quality is higher than a predetermined threshold; and adjusting at least one parameter utilized for processing a plurality of voice packets to be transmitted to the another communications apparatus according to the estimated voice quality to reduce the power consumption when the estimated voice quality is higher than the predetermined threshold.

Methods for reducing the power consumption in voice communications and communications apparatus utilizing the same

Methods and apparatus are provided for a voice over LTE system to shorten the call set up time. In one novel aspect, the mobile origination (MO) UE starts the UE-initiated dedicated resource allocation before receiving any responses from the remote UE. In another embodiment, the mobile termination (MT) UE starts the UE-initiated dedicated resource allocation upon receiving the INVITE from the remote UE. In one embodiment, the UE adjusts the timeout value based on the PLMN information in its PLMN database. The timeout value can be set to be zero if early reservation is allowed. Upon timer expires, the UE starts UE-initiated dedicated resource allocation. In one novel aspect, the MO UE retrieves the codec information of a remote UE from its peer profile information database and uses a matching codec in its INVITE message. In another embodiment, the MT MO includes the SDP answer in its 180 RINGING message.

Method of call setup time reduction for voice over LTE

A solar cell device and a method of fabricating the device is described. The solar cell is fabricated by providing a substructure comprising an absorber over a back contact having a Pline therein and scribing a Pline in the absorber by mechanical scribing and laser scribing after the mechanical scribing. The scribing can be performed with an integrated scriber, including a scribing tip and a light source mounted adjacent the scribing tip and operable concurrently with the scribing tip.

Solar cell interconnects and method of fabricating same

The invention discloses a device and method for solar-tracking according to sensor. The device calculates the angle of incidence and azimuth of the sunray through the illuminance sensed by the sensors in different positions. The device rotates the solar panel to the direction with the maximal solar irradiation. Then the solar panel can sense the maximum illuminance to have the maximal energy gain.
