A display panel includes a first substrate, pixel structures, a first common pad, a second substrate, a second common electrode, a display medium and a conductive particle. The pixel structures are disposed on an active area of the first substrate. The first common pad is disposed on a peripheral area of the first substrate, and is electrically connected to first common electrodes of the pixel structures. The second common electrode is disposed on the second substrate. The conductive particle is disposed on the first common pad, and is electrically connected to the first common pad and the second common electrode. The conductive particle includes a core and a conductive film disposed on a surface of the core, where the conductive film has a main portion and raised portions, and a film thickness of each of the raised portions is greater than a film thickness of the main portion.

Display panel

A display device includes a display panel, first and second conductive pads, a conductive adhesive layer and a circuit board. First and second leads are on a first substrate of the display panel and extended to be exposed at a side. A patterned electrode layer is on a second substrate of the display panel and partially exposed at the side. A spacer layer is on the first substrate and covers the first and second leads. A thickness of the spacer layer on the first lead is smaller than a thickness of the remaining part of the spacer layer. The first and second conductive pads are at the side of the display panel. The first conductive pads are extended to a space between the patterned electrode layer and the spacer layer on the first leads. The second conductive pads are connected to the second leads and the spacer layer thereon.

Display device

A method for manufacturing LCD panels includes providing upper and lower substrates; interposing a liquid crystal material composed of at least one liquid crystal molecule and at least two photosensitive monomers between the upper and lower substrates, at least one first photosensitive monomer having an absorption peak larger than 300 nm and at least one second photosensitive monomer having an absorption peak smaller than 300 nm; applying a voltage between the upper and lower substrates and irradiating with ultra-violet radiation having a first wavelength larger than 300 nm for a first time interval for polymerizing most first photosensitive monomers to provide an alignment polymer; and separately irradiating with ultra-violet radiation having a second wavelength for a second time interval, the second wavelength being larger than the first wavelength. The Irradiating steps are separate and, when irradiating with the first wavelength precedes irradiating with the second wavelength, residual monomers are reduced.

Method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel

A liquid crystal display panel including a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer, and a polymer stabilized alignment layer is provided. The second substrate is disposed opposite to the first substrate. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The polymer stabilized alignment layer is disposed between the first substrate and the liquid crystal layer, and an average surface roughness of the polymer stabilized alignment layer is greater than or equal to 10 nm.

Liquid crystal display panel and fabricating method thereof

A liquid crystal display structure is provided. The liquid crystal display structure includes a liquid crystal panel and a backlight module. The liquid crystal panel has a liquid crystal layer including photo-polymerizable monomers. The backlight module has a light emitting unit for emitting an output light. A difference between the smallest value of the spectrum interval of the output light and the largest value of the absorption spectrum interval of the photo-polymerizable monomer in the liquid crystal layer is larger than or equal to 40 nm.

Liquid crystal display structure

A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel includes a liquid crystal (LC) layer interposed between top and bottom substrates. The LC layer includes a plurality of LC compounds and a stabilization-aligned polymer polymerized from a plurality of polymerizable monomers and formed on at least one surface of the top substrate or the bottom substrate. The plurality of LC compounds comprise first, second, and third LC compounds in which the third LC compound is selected from the group consisting of a compound 3A, a compound 3B, a compound 3C, and combinations thereof. As seen from the chemical formulae, the plurality of LC compounds have condensed rings so that sensitivity to light and heat is reduced and reliability of the LCD panel is improved.

Liquid crystal display panel and composition of liquid crystal layer thereof

A liquid crystalline medium comprises a plurality of polymerizable monomers and a plurality of liquid crystal molecules. The liquid crystal molecules are selected from at least one of compounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.  'G', 'G' and &#x201c;G&#x201d; are independently alkyl having 1 to 8 carbons or alkyenyl having 2 to 8 carbons. &#x201c;G&#x201d; and &#x201c;G&#x201d; are independently alkyl having 1 to 8 carbons or alkoxy having 1 to 7 carbons. &#x201c;G&#x201d; is alkyl of 1 to 8 carbons, alkyenyl of 2 to 8 carbons or alkoxy of 1 to 7 carbons. &#x201c;Z&#x201d; is single bond, ethyl or methoxy. &#x201c;Z&#x201d; is single bond, ethyl, methoxy, or caroboxyl. &#x201c;Z&#x201d; is single bond, ethyl, difluoromethoxy, difluoropropoxy or ethyl carboxyl. &#x201c;Z&#x201d; is single bond, ethyl, difluoromethoxy, or difluoropropoxy. are independently 1,4-cyclohexylene or 1,4-phenylene. One of &#x201c;E&#x201d; and &#x201c;E&#x201d; is fluorine, and the other is chlorine.

Liquid crystalline medium and method for manufacturing liquid crystal display panel

A method for manufacturing LCD includes providing a bottom substrate, applying a sealant on its top surface, providing a liquid crystal mixture including a vertical alignment liquid crystal material and at least one reactive monomer which are surrounded by the sealant, providing a top substrate so that its bottom surface covers the sealant and the bottom substrate, performing a pre-curing process to pre-cure the sealant under a first temperature, and performing an active curing process under a second temperature, wherein the second temperature is higher than the first temperature.

A photosensitive monomer of formula.  'L', 'L', &#x201c;L&#x201d;, &#x201c;L&#x201d;, &#x201c;L&#x201d;, &#x201c;L&#x201d; are selected from hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, cyano, alkyl, alkylcarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, and alkylcarbonyloxy having 1 to 7 carbon atoms, in which one or more hydrogen atoms may be substituted by fluorine or chlorine. &#x201c;R&#x201d;, &#x201c;R&#x201d;, &#x201c;R&#x201d; and &#x201c;R&#x201d; are selected from hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, cyano, thiocyanato, pentafluoro sulfanyl, nitrite, straight-chained alkyl/branched alkyl, and a &#x201c;Z-Sp-P&#x201d; group. At least one of &#x201c;R&#x201d;, &#x201c;R&#x201d;, &#x201c;R&#x201d; and &#x201c;R&#x201d; is &#x201c;Z-Sp-P&#x201d; group. &#x201c;Z&#x201d; is selected from oxygen, sulfur, methyoxy, carbonyl, caroboxyl, carbamoyl, methylthio, ethenylcarbonyl, carbonylethenyl, and a single bond. &#x201c;Sp&#x201d; is selected from straight-chained alkyl or branched alkyl and a single bond. &#x201c;P&#x201d; comprises a polymerizable group.

A liquid crystal (LC) medium for polymerization alignment process includes at least a set of LC molecules, at least a set of reactive monomers, and at least one inhibitor at a concentration in a range of 0.01-1% wt of the reactive monomer. The inhibitor quenches polymerization of radicals of the reactive monomers, which is triggered by light or heat before the polymerization alignment process. Therefore influence on the reactive monomers before the polymerization alignment process is reduced and stability of the LC medium is improved.

Liquid crystal medium for polymerization alignment process and method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display having the same
