An active stylus includes an electrode, a recycling capacitor, a first switch, a power source, and a second switch. The first switch is coupled between the recycling capacitor and the electrode. The second switch is coupled between the power source and the electrode. In a first phase, the second switch is turned on, the power source provides a current or a voltage for the electrode and the first switch is turned off. In a second phase, the second switch is turned off and the first switch is turned on. Alternatively, the recycling capacitor may be replaced with an electrode.

A touch device has multiple charging traces distributed under the touch operation area. When the object hovers over or contacts the touch operation area, the control unit of the touch device obtains the corresponding position of the object through the sensing signal of the electrode units. The control unit in turn connect the charging traces adjacent to the corresponding position of the object to form at least one charging loop. In the process of the touch operation on the touch device, the object can be charged at the same time, and the convenience of use can be improved.

Touch device with charging function and charging control method thereof

A capacitive sensing and sampling circuit and method thereof are disclosed. The capacitive sensing and sampling circuit has a voltage source, a sensing unit and a detecting circuit. The detecting unit has a first sensing output unit, a second sensing output unit and a sampling unit. The first and second sensing output units are electrically connected to an output of the sensing unit and the sampling unit. Therefore, by increasing the number of alternatively sensing the capacitive sensing component to obtain more capacitive signals, the number of sampling the sensed capacitive signal is relatively increased. Therefore, the white noise interference for the capacitive sensing and sampling circuit is effectively suppressed, so the signal-to-noise ratio is increased and accuracy of detecting coordinates of the touch object is increased.

A touch system has a touch device and an input device. The touch system executes a first mode and a second mode at different times. In the first mode, the touch device transmits a modulation signal to drive the touch electrodes and to be used as an uplink signal. The input device receives the modulation signal. In the second mode, the touch device receives the downlink signal from the input device. Thus, the touch device does not have to transmit the driving signal and the uplink signal at different times. Then the time is saved for the rest work periods so that every work periods get longer length of time.

A touch system includes a touch device and an input device. The uplink signal transmitted by the touch device includes a timestamp. The input device transmits a downlink signal through the electrode unit and transmits a side information through a wireless communication unit. When the stimulated drive lines include a bordering drive line, the driving lines are determined according to a relationship among i, j and k. Accordingly, the signal to noise ratio of the touch device can be increased and the adverse effect for common ground occurring between a measuring system and a human body can be reduced so that the multi-finger positioning issue can be resolved.

Clustered scan method of a capacitive touch device

A scan method for increasing frame rate of a touch panel having multiple driving lines, multiple sensing lines and a scan cycle with multiple detection cycles, has steps of generating multiple sets of asynchronous excitation signals within each detection cycle with each set of excitation signals outputted to a corresponding driving line, and receiving capacitance sensing values from the sensing lines corresponding to the driving lines. In contrast to conventional scan methods only outputting one set of excitation signals within each detection cycle, the time required to scan entire driving lines is greatly reduced and the frame rate is increased. Additionally, as the multiple sets of asynchronous excitation signals are asynchronous, the interference to the capacitance sensing values sensed by the sensing circuit in response to the multiple sets of excitation signals won't occur.

Scan method for increasing frame rate of touch panel and touch panel device using the same

Methods are proposed for object positioning for an X-Y projected capacitive touch panel. In an embodiment, capacitance sensing under inphase excitation of traces is applied to set a base value when the capacitive touch panel is not touched and to obtain capacitances at intersections when the capacitive touch panel is touched, and the base value is compared with the measured capacitances to identify touch points. In other embodiments, X-Y projected sensing and all-point sensing are combined to reduce the amount of calculation and achieve the same positioning effect as an all-point capacitive touch panel.

A two-dimensional capacitive touch panel includes three electrodes made from a single sensor layer, with the first one of the electrodes between the other two of the electrodes to establish mutual capacitances between the first electrode and the other two, respectively. The first electrode is applied with an excitation signal for sensing variations in the mutual capacitances to calculate a position in the direction that is touched by an external conductor.

Two sensing units are configured as an exciter and a sensor connected to two trace lines, respectively, for mutual capacitance sensing from the capacitance units including these two trace lines. The two sensing units connect the two trace lines together to balance them to a same voltage level first, and then disconnect them from each other. Thereafter, the exciter connects the first trace line to an excitation node to induce a charge change on the second trace line, and the sensor senses the charge change to detect the variation of the mutual capacitance between the two trace lines.

If the sampled voltage is lower than the threshold voltage, the sensing of this trace is aborted and thus the operation of the detector circuit is reduced to improve the performance of the capacitive touch panel.
