A hardness adjustment unit includes an elastic frame, a barrier, and a field generator. An enclosed space is provided inside the elastic frame and filled with a fluid filling. The barrier is arranged in the enclosed space and divides the enclosed space into an upper space and a lower space. The upper space communicates with the lower space. The field generator is arranged outside the elastic frame and used to apply a field to the fluid filling to adjust a viscosity of the fluid filling, thereby adjusting a flow damping of the fluid filling in the upper space and the lower space to control a deformation of the elastic frame.

An adjustable seat includes a carrier, a seat body, a first linking rod, a second linking rod, a sliding mechanism, and an adjustment block. The second linking rod is hinged to the seat body and the carrier. The sliding mechanism includes a slide rail and a slide block slidably engaged with the slide rail. A dual directional sliding hinge is mounted in a portable device with a cover, a first base and a second base and has a main panel, a first sliding unit, a second sliding unit. The main panel is attached to the cover. The first sliding unit is attached to the first base. The second sliding unit is attached to the second base. When the first and second sliding units slide at the closing position, the cover and the first and second bases are folded to have a smallest volume. Since the first and second sliding units have different sliding distances when sliding to different directions, the functioning units on the first and second bases are revealed alternatively. Therefore, the user can decide to use different functioning units as desired.
