The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for controlling an object movement on a screen. The method senses a first change in a position of a pointing device in a coordinate system to obtain a first displacement, and controls the object movement by a first displacement output ratio according to the first displacement. The method senses a second change in a position of the pointing device in a coordinate system to obtain a second displacement, and controls the object movement by a second displacement output ratio when a difference between a direction of the first displacement and a direction of the second displacement exceeds a first angle threshold, wherein the second displacement output ratio is lower than the first displacement output ratio.

Method and apparatus for controlling object movement on screen

An image determining method for scanning an image and determining specific image pixels of a specific image. The method comprises: determining at least one pixel in a first row having brightness value larger than a threshold value as the specific image pixel; defining a leftmost pixel and a rightmost pixel of the specific image pixel in the first row as a leftmost edge and a rightmost edge of a first specific image range; and defining a second specific image range in a second row of the image, which is next to the first row. Column positions of a leftmost edge and a rightmost edge of the second specific image range are respectively the same with column positions of the leftmost edge and the rightmost edge of the first specific image range. Via this method, the determining for the specific image pixels is more accurate.

Image determining method and object coordinate computing apparatus

There is provided an optical pointing system including at least one reference beacon, an image sensor, a storage unit and a processing unit. The image sensor is configured to capture an image frame containing a beacon image associated with the at least one reference beacon. The storage unit is configured to save image data of at least one object image in the image frame. The processing unit is configured to sequentially process every pixel of the image frame for identifying the object image and real-timely remove or merge the image data, saved in the storage unit, associated with two object images within a pixel range of the image frame thereby reducing the used memory space.

Remote controller

An interactive system includes a display, a processor and a remote controller. The display includes at least one reference beacon for providing light with a predetermined feature. The remote controller includes an image sensor configured to capture an image containing the reference beacon and calculates an aiming coordinate according to an imaging position of the reference beacon in the captured image. The processor calculates a scale ratio of a pixel size of the display with respect to that of the image captured by the image sensor and moves a cursor position according to the scale ratio and the aiming coordinate.

An exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure provides a handheld pointer device and a tilt angle adjustment method thereof. The tilt angle adjustment method includes the following steps. Images corresponding to the position of a reference point are captured as the handheld pointer device pointing toward the reference point to generate a plurality of frames. Whether the reference point has substantially moved is subsequently determined based on the plurality of frames. When determines that the reference point has not substantially moved, causes an accelerometer unit of the handheld pointer device to detect the accelerations thereof over various axes so as to update a first tilt angle being used currently to a second tilt angle, accordingly. The handheld pointer device may thus accurately and efficiently calculate the relative position of the reference point with the appropriate tilt angle of the handheld pointer device used.

Optical pointing system

An optical object recognition system includes at least two beacons, an image sensor and a processing unit. The beacons operate in an emission pattern and the emission pattern of the beacons has a phase shift from each other. The image sensor captures image frames with a sampling period. The processing unit is configured to recognize different beacons according to the phase shift of the emission pattern in the image frames.

An image detecting method, comprising: controlling a synchronizing controller to transmit a first activating signal to a light source controller; controlling the light source controller to control at least one light source to generate a predetermined radiating pattern, and controlling the light source controller to transmit back a first responding signal to the synchronizing controller when the light source controller receives the first activating signal; and controlling an image sensor to start an image detecting when the synchronizing controller receives the first responding signal.

There is provided a pointing system including an image sensor, a plurality of reference marks and a processing unit. The image sensor is configured to capture image frames containing at least one reference mark image of the reference marks. The processing unit is configured to recognize an image number of the reference mark image and calculate an aiming point coordinate according to a positioning algorithm associated with the image number.

Pointing system and display having improved operable range

There is provided a mobile carrier and an auto following system using the mobile carrier. The mobile carrier is capable of capturing at least an image of a guiding light source and automatically following the guiding light source based on the captured image of the guiding light source. The mobile carrier is further disposed with a mobile light source for a remote image sensing device to capture an image of the mobile light source while the mobile carrier cannot capture the image of the guiding light source, so that the mobile carrier can be guided by a control signal provided according to the captured image of the mobile light source.

The present invention provides a method for determining an object position, including the following steps: determining the intensities of a plurality of pixels; determining that a portion of pixels in the plurality of pixels belong to an object image corresponding to an object; and determining coordinate data of the object based on a number of pixels in each row or column of the portion of the plurality of pixels belonging to the object image and the coordinates of pixels in the portion of the plurality of pixels belonging to the object image. Method of determining object position and system thereof

A method of an optical detecting device for synchronizing an exposure timing sequence of an image detector with a light emitting timing sequence of a reference light source is disclosed. The method includes capturing a continued image set according to a predetermined period, analyzing intensity variation of the continued image set, and adjusting the exposure timing sequence of an image detector according to the intensity variation, so as to synchronize the exposure timing sequence of the image detector with the light emitting timing sequence of the reference light source.
