An integrated antenna for WWAN, GPS, and WLAN includes a ground metal plane, a WWAN antenna, and a WLAN antenna. The WWAN antenna is connected to the ground metal plane and includes first and second radiating metal strips which induce a first resonance mode and a second resonance mode respectively. The WLAN antenna is connected to the ground metal plane and includes third and fourth radiating metal strips which induce a third resonance mode and a fourth resonance mode respectively. The integrated antenna can be used in WWAN and WLAN at the same time. The ground metal plane of the integrated antenna does not need to connect to a ground end of a wireless electronic device, and is used for grounding. Therefore, the integrated antenna can be mounted on any part of a wireless electronic device, and can have stable electrical characteristics.

Antenna for WWAN and integrated antenna for WWAN, GPS and WLAN

An integrated antenna for worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMax) and wireless local area network (WLAN), includes a substrate, a grounding metal strip, and first and second radiating metal strips. The first radiating metal strip is disposed on the substrate and is not connected to the grounding metal strip. The first radiating metal strip has a first portion and a second portion on two ends thereof. The first and second portions are used to induce first and second resonance modes, respectively. The second radiating metal strip is disposed on the substrate and is connected to the grounding metal strip. The second radiating metal strip is not connected to the first radiating metal strip. The energy is coupled from the second radiating metal strip to the first radiating metal strip to induce a third resonance mode. The antenna is adapted to the frequencies of WiMax and WLAN.

Integrated antenna for worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WIMAX) and WLAN

The present invention relates to an antenna for WWAN and an integrated antenna for WWAN, WLAN, and GPS. The integrated antenna comprises a ground metal plate, a coupled WWAN antenna, a WLAN antenna, an auxiliary grounding element, and at least one supporting element. The integrated antenna of the invention can be applied to a wireless electronic device with WWAN and WLAN by utilizing the coupled WWAN antenna to induce a WWAN frequency and the WLAN antenna to induce a WLAN frequency. In addition, the ground metal plate and the auxiliary grounding element are selectively connected or not connected to a ground end of the wireless electronic device, and can be separately used to provide grounding effect. Therefore, the integrated antenna can be mounted on any part of the wireless electronic device, and can have stable electrical characteristic.

This invention relates to an antenna for GPS. The antenna of the invention comprises a ground metal plate, a parasitic metal plate, a radiation metal plate and at least one supporting element. The parasitic metal plate is disposed above the ground metal plate and connects to the ground metal plate. The radiation metal plate is an independent metal plate and is disposed above the ground metal plate. The parasitic metal plate cooperates with the radiation metal plate to induce a resonance mode. The supporting element is disposed on the ground metal plate and is used to support the radiation metal plate. Whereby, the problems of large size and limited receiving angle of signal according to a conventional circular polarization antenna for GPS could be improved.

Antenna for GPS

An antenna for WWAN is disclosed, which includes a first radiating metal strip, a second radiating metal strip, a first ground strip, a connecting metal strip and a second ground strip. The first radiating metal strip has a first portion and a second portion. The second radiating metal strip is independent. The first portion is coupled with the second radiating metal strip to induce a first resonance. The second portion cooperates with the second radiating metal strip to induce a second resonance. The connecting metal strip connects the first radiating metal strip to the first ground strip. The second ground strip is independent. The ground strips are used for grounding effect and can be selectively connected to a ground end of a wireless electronic device. Therefore, the antenna can be mounted in any place of the wireless electronic device, and has stable electrical characteristic.

Antenna for WWAN

The invention relates to a dual-band inverted-F antenna with shorted parasitic elements. The antenna of the invention comprises a ground plane, a first radiating arm placed above an edge of the ground plane, a second radiating arm placed above the edge of the ground plane, a shorting arm with a substantially inverted-L shape for electrically connecting the first radiating arm and the second radiating arm to the ground plane, a shorted parasitic arm placed above the edge of the ground plane, and a feeding coaxial cable for transmitting signals. There is a distance between the shorted parasitic arm and the first radiating arm so as to induce extra capacitive reactance to compensate the inductive reactance induced by inserting the feeding coaxial cable. The present invention is suitable for the wireless local area network (WLAN) applications in the 2.4 GHz (2.4&#x2013;2.484 GHz) and 5 GHz (5.15&#x2013;5.35, 5.725&#x2013;5.875 GHz) bands.

Dual-band inverted-F antenna with shorted parasitic elements

The invention relates to an integrated antenna for a portable computer. The portable computer has a main frame. The integrated antenna comprises a substrate, a first radiating metal strip, a second radiating metal strip, a ground plane, at least one first connecting metal strip and second connecting metal strip. The substrate has a connecting portion for connecting to the main frame. The first radiating metal strip is used to induce a first resonance, and the second radiating metal strip is used to induce a second resonance. The first connecting metal strip connects to the first radiating metal strip and the second radiating metal strip. The second connecting metal strip connects to the second radiating metal strip and the ground plane. The integrated antenna of the invention is mounted to the main frame of the portable computer. The length of a coaxial cable can be reduced. Therefore, the transmission loss and cost can be reduced. Furthermore, the integrated antenna can be easily mounted on the main frame of portable computer.
