A washing machine includes a tub made of plastic to store water therein and a drum rotatably installed in the tub to hold laundry therein. A shaft passes through the tub and connects to the drum to transmit driving power from a motor to the drum. A wall having a recessing part and a projecting part is formed on an inner surface or outer surface thereof in a circumferential direction. A bearing housing has a stator fastening part where the stator fastening part has a recessing part and a projecting part corresponding with the recessing part and the projecting part of the wall in a circumferential direction, and a stator of the motor is mounted on the stator fastening part and a rotor of the motor is connected to a rear part of the shaft and surrounding the stator.

The detergent-supply system includes a guide rib formed on the bottom surface of a housing for guiding wash water, supplied to the rear part of the housing, to the front part of the housing, thereby washing out detergent remaining in the front part of the housing. The detergent-supply system further includes slits formed in the guide rib for spraying wash water, thereby completely eliminating the detergent remaining on the bottom surface of the housing.

A motor for a washing machine has a stator secured to one side of a tub which holds washing water and a rotor disposed on an outer side of the stator. The stator includes a core and an insulator that holds the core, and the insulator has a fastening part with a fastening hole formed on the insulator. A fastener fastens the stator to the one side of the tub using the fastening hole formed on the insulator.

A washing machine has a tub that may be made of plastic. A drum is rotatably installed in the tub. A shaft may pass through the tub and connect to the drum for transmission of a driving power from a motor to the drum.
