The driving circuit of the display includes a timing controller. The timing controller is coupled to a general purpose input/output (GPIO) pin of the touch driver. The timing controller receives an instruction signal via the GPIO pin of the touch driver. The timing controller starts a detection period according to a first edge switched from a first voltage level to a second voltage level of the instruction signal. The timing controller detects a number of pulse signals of the instruction signal, and determines a current operating status of the touch driver according to the number of pulse signals of the instruction signal during the detection period. The timing controller determines that the current operating status of the touch driver is one of touch operation type statuses according to the number of pulse signals of the instruction signal during the detection period being a default number.

Each of the signal lines is located between two adjacent background patterns. Each of the insulating patterns covers each of the signal lines and bridges to the two adjacent background patterns. The second conductive layer includes multiple conductive patterns. Each of the conductive patterns covers the each of the insulating patterns and bridges to the two adjacent background patterns. The adhesive layer is disposed on and in direct contact with the background pattern and the second conductive layer. The electrophoretic display film is disposed above the adhesive layer.

The image processing circuit receives an image signal and analyzes the image signal according to a signal component of the image signal, so as to determine a display mode of the electronic paper display apparatus. The image processing circuit selects a driving signal waveform according to the determined display mode. The timing controller is electrically connected to the image processing circuit. The timing controller outputs the selected driving signal waveform to drive an electronic paper display panel of the electronic paper display apparatus to display image frames.

The present invention provides driving methods for electrophoretic color display devices. The backplane system used for the driving methods is found to be simpler which renders color display devices more cost effective. More specifically, the driving method comprises first driving all pixels towards a color state by modulating only the common electrode, followed by driving all pixels towards their desired color states by maintaining the common electrode grounded and applying different voltages to the pixel electrodes.

A driver apparatus configured to drive an electronic paper display panel to perform a touch sensing operation is provided. The driver apparatus includes a scanner apparatus and a sensing apparatus. The scanner apparatus scans multiple sensing blocks of the electronic paper display panel to perform the touch sensing operation. Each sensing block includes one or more sensing devices. The sensing blocks are arranged in an array. The sensing apparatus is electrically connected to the scanner apparatus. The sensing apparatus controls the scanner apparatus to scan the sensing blocks. The sensing apparatus charges/discharges each sensing block according to a first voltage and a second voltage, so that a relaxation signal is generated. Driver apparatus

An electronic paper display including a display apparatus of a first type, a driver circuit of the first type electrically coupled to the display apparatus of the first type, a display film of a second type disposed on the display apparatus of the first type and a timing controller circuit of the second type electrically coupled to the driver circuit of the first type is provided. The driver circuit of the first type drives the display apparatus of the first type and displays images on the display film of the second type according to a driving signal of the first type. The timing controller circuit of the second type adjusts a waveform of driving signal of the second type to a waveform of the driving signal of the first type. The first type is a liquid crystal display type, and the second type is an electronic paper display type.

An electrophoretic display panel including a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer, an electrophoretic display layer and a low surface energy coating layer is provided. The first electrode layer has a first surface and a second surface corresponding to the first surface. The electrophoretic display layer is disposed between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. The electrophoretic display layer has a third surface. The third surface of the electrophoretic display layer and the second surface of the first electrode layer have a gap therebetween. A gap distance of the gap is changed with a press operation. The low surface energy coating layer is coated on at least one of the second surface of the first electrode layer and the third surface of the electrophoretic display layer.
