A light source module including at least one optical film and a light source unit is provided. The light source unit is disposed under the at least one optical film, and a space is formed between the light source unit and the at least one optical film. The light source unit includes a plurality of light emitting elements and a plurality of secondary lenses. The light emitting elements are arranged along a direction parallel to the at least one optical film. The secondary lenses are correspondingly disposed on the light emitting elements and each of the secondary lenses has a patterned reflective layer. Each of the secondary lenses has a light hole radius R, a distance between a distribution range of the patterned reflective layer and a bottom of the corresponding secondary lenses is H, and the distribution range of the patterned reflective layer satisfies 1/R&#x3c;H&#x3c;3/2R

Light source module and light source unit

A display device includes a light guide plate, at least one illuminating element, a side frame, and a display panel. The light guide plate includes a main body and at least one light-incident protrusion part. The main body has a light-emitting surface. The light-incident protrusion part is connected to the main body and has a light-incident surface. The illuminating element is arranged along the light-incident surface and is capable of emitting a light beam. The light beam enters the light guide plate from the light-incident surface and leaves the light guide plate from the light-emitting surface. The side frame is located on the light guide plate. The display panel is located between the light guide plate and the side frame. The side frame and the display panel expose the light-incident protrusion part. The side frame of the display device described herein has the small width.

Display device

A method for controlling printing quality in an inkjet printer having a printhead with a plurality of nozzles. The printhead is mounted in a carriage, and the carriage is moved to repeatedly pass the printhead across a print medium in individual swaths. The method includes firing individual nozzles repeatedly during each swath to apply an ink pattern to the print medium, measuring the temperature of the printhead prior to each swath, comparing the temperature of the printhead to at least one reference temperature, and if the temperature of the printhead is greater than the reference temperature, raising the velocity of the carriage during the upcoming swath for ensuring that a distance ink is ejected from the printhead to the print medium is kept substantially constant during each swath.

Method of adjusting the velocity of a printhead carriage according to the temperature of the printhead

Methods for detecting a short-circuit problem and an open-circuit problem in an ink jet printer. The ink jet printer includes at least an ink jet unit having an input end, a corresponding nozzle, and a control end. The ink jet printer further includes a driving circuit for providing energy to the ink jet unit via the input end. When the ink jet unit receives an ink jet signal via the control end, the ink jet unit can spray ink via the corresponding nozzle according to the energy received via the input end. The short-circuit problem detecting method includes stopping transmitting the ink jet signal to the control end of the ink jet unit, stopping providing energy to the input end of the ink jet unit, and measuring currents flowing through the input end of the ink jet unit.

Method and related apparatus for performing short and open circuit testing of ink jet printer head

A printing apparatus includes a printhead and an ink volume detecting circuit. The printhead contains a plurality of first heating elements for heating ink supplied to the printhead to generate bubbles in the ink and eject the ink through corresponding nozzles. The printhead also contains a second heating element for heating the ink supplied to the printhead, a resistance value of the second heating element being less than the resistance value of each first heating element, and the low resistance value of the second heating element causing the second heating element to burn out and create an open circuit if the volume of the ink is less than a predetermined level. The ink volume detecting circuit is connected to the second heating element for determining if the volume of the ink supplied to the printhead is less than the predetermined level based on a condition of the second heating element.
