The present invention provides a power control circuit connectable to a load adapted to receive a power supply, the power control circuit adapted to absorb power from the power supply and adapted to deliver power to the power supply to stabilize at least one electrical parameter of the power supply. The present invention also provides an associated method of stabilizing at least one electrical parameter of a power supply connectable to a load, the method including absorbing power from the power supply or delivering power to the power supply. The at least one electrical parameter of the power supply includes parameters such as voltage and frequency.

Power control circuit and method for stabilizing a power supply

Devices and systems of inductive-capacitive (LC) coil-resonators that can be embedded easily inside high-voltage insulation discs are provided. Each LC coil-resonator comprises spiral conductive tracks fabricated or printed in the form of at least two layers of planar spiral windings on electrically non-conductive materials. The planar conductive windings on at least two parallel layers may be connected to form a closed winding. The distributed inductance associated with the planar spiral windings and the distributed capacitance between the layers of the conductive tracks form an equivalent LC coil-resonator. When these LC coil-resonators are embedded in some or all of the insulation discs in a high-voltage insulation rod, they form the relay coil-resonators for wireless power transfer.

Said method includes determining optimum values of the impedance related parameters based on a set of measured input impedance by applying an evolutionary algorithm to solve optimum solutions. Wherein the set of measured input impedance includes an input impedance vector {right arrow over (Z)}=(Z, Z, . . . , Z, Z), each input impedance in the vector (Z) measured at different frequencies f, (k=1, 2, . . . m); and the impedance related parameters includes drepresenting a distance between the l-th coil and the l+1 coil (l=1, 2, . . . n&#x2212;1) and Crepresenting a capacitance of the capacitor connected to the i-th coil (i=1, 2, . . . n).

Methods for parameter identification, load monitoring and output power control in wireless power transfer systems

A single-stage AC-DC single-inductor multiple-output (SIMO) LED driver uses a single inductor (L) to drive multiple independent LED strings (-) with Power Factor Correction (PFC). The driver uses a diode bridge () to achieve initial AC to DC conversion. The output of the bridge () is provided to a buck converter whose output is shared with multiple LED strings by a time division multiplex circuit. Feedback is used to separately control the current supplied to each LED string by using a separate reference for each string and controlling the width of the current pulse provided to a string. Current balancing in every LED string can be achieved with the same voltage reference without the need for additional circuitry.

AC-DC single-inductor multiple-output LED drivers

This invention provides an electronic control method for a planar inductive battery charging apparatus on which one or more electronic loads such as mobile phones, MP3 players etc can be placed and charged simultaneously. The power control circuit of the charging pad consists of two power conversion stages. Depending on the nature of the input power supply, the first power stage is an AC-DC power converter with variable output voltage control and a second stage is a DC-AC power inverter with constant current control. The combination of the two stages provides power control of the charging pad and generates AC magnetic flux of ideally constant magnitude over the charging areas within a group of primary windings that are excited.

Electronic control method for a planar inductive battery charging apparatus

An EMI filter for use between a power source and an electronic product is formed of at least one planar element including a pair of opposed coreless spiral planar windings, and a planar capacitor. This enables the integration of common mode and differential mode filters into integrated planar structures. Furthermore the planar EMI filter may be combined with an active filter element to provide a hybrid EMI filter comprising both passive and active elements with superior performance.
