A detection device and a detection method for distinguishing types of particles in an aqueous solution are provided. The detection device includes a detection chip, a signal source and a processing device. The detection chip includes a substrate, a coplanar waveguide transmission line and a super-hydrophobic film mask. When a to-be-detected aqueous solution that contains to-be-detected particles is provided on the detection chip, the super-hydrophobic film mask of the detection chip can confine the to-be-detected aqueous solution in a detection area. The processing device controls the signal source to provide detection microwave signals with different detection frequencies, simultaneously measures a first output signal and a second output signal at the different detection frequencies to generate a to-be-detected absorption spectrum, and compares the to-be-detected absorption spectrum with historical absorption spectra, so as to determine types of the to-be-detected particles.

Detection device and detection method for distinguishing types of particles in aqueous solution

A protective assembly and an imaging equipment set are provided. The protective assembly is used to accommodate an imaging lens, and includes a housing, a transparent partition, and an adhesive member. The housing includes a tube body segment and a bottom segment that is connected to the tube body segment. A curved portion is formed on a periphery of the bottom segment, and an accommodating space is defined by the housing. The imaging lens is movably disposed in the accommodating space. An inner side of the curved portion has an inclined surface that is configured to abut against a shell of the imaging lens. The transparent partition is disposed on the bottom segment of the housing. The adhesive member has an outer surface that is sticky and an inner surface that is fixed onto a bottom surface of the housing.

The present disclosure relates to a data processing method, and more specifically, to a digital image processing method to enable a rapid noise-suppressed contrast enhancement in an optical linear or nonlinear microscopy imaging application. The disclosed method digitally mimics a hardware-based feedback-driven adaptive or controlled illumination technique by means of digitally resembling selective laser-on and laser-off states so as to selectively optimize the signal strength and hence the visibility of the weak-intensity morphologies while mostly preventing saturation of the brightest structures.

GPU-accelerated data processing method for rapid noise-suppressed contrast enhancement

A microscope is provided to measure HbA1c fraction. The microscope measures the HbA1c fraction of a single red blood cell (RBC) in a trace blood sample. The HbA1c fraction can be measured through a non-invasive way while the RBC flows in a human epidermal microvessel, too. The microscope comprises a laser device, an upright microscope, a light splitter, a light detector, and a mainframe. Unlike traditional methods, the HbA1c fraction can be measured in vitro or in vivo at the level of a single RBC. Accurate measurement is achieved. Misdiagnosis rate is reduced. The microscope provides HbA1c fractions from hundreds of RBCs, instead of averaging HbA1c fractions obtained from a large number of blood samples. Hence, the present invention is a method of detecting a HbA1c fraction of a single RBC, and is a microscope supporting blood-drawing measurement and non-invasive measurement simultaneously.

A margin assessment method is provided. Under cooperation of harmonic generation microscopy (HGM) and a deep learning method, the margin assessment method can instantaneously and digitally determine whether a 3D image group generated by an HGM imaging system is a malignant tumor or the surrounding normal skin, so as to assist in determining margins of a lesion.

This invention provides a device for improving laser wavelength conversion efficiency and a laser system configured to provide high-power multi-wavelength femtosecond laser pulses using the device. The device for improving laser wavelength conversion efficiency comprises a wavelength conversion member photonic crystal fiber (PCF), wherein the device for improving laser wavelength conversion efficiency improves wavelength conversion efficiency by shortening the length of the PCF. The device provided in this invention not only reduces the attenuation and dispersion caused by the optical fiber, but also improves the energy conversion efficiency within a specific wavelength range. The use of the technique not only increases the energy of light pulse, but also greatly reduces the amount of fiber used, and can maximize the energy of the desired wavelength according to experimental requirements when using laser input sources of different wavelengths.

The present invention provides a system for detecting whether a subject having a target suffers from an Alzheimer's disease. The system includes a multi-harmonic generation microscope and a processor. The multi-harmonic generation microscope images the target by a second harmonic generation (SHG) and a third harmonic generation (THG) to respectively obtain an SHG image and a THG image. The processor couples to the multi-harmonic generation microscope and configures to add a first color to the SHG image and a second color to the THG image to respectively obtain a color-added SHG image and a color-added THG image, and combine the color-added SHG image and the color-added THG image to obtain a combined image, wherein the combined image is used to determine whether the subject suffers from the Alzheimer's disease.

System and method for detecting alzheimer's disease

The field of view (FOV) of a nonlinear optical microscope (NLOM) is expected to be large enough for employing high-speed raster scanning on a mesoscale volumetric biological sample. Concurrently, three-dimensional (3D) visualization of fine sub-micron biological structures requires high enough lateral and axial resolutions, enforcing a high numerical aperture (NA) objective lens to be employed, thereby limiting the FOV of an NLOM. The invention is directed to a laser scanning NLOM, or to a large-angle optical raster scanning system, for deep biological tissue imaging with a large FOV of more than one square millimeter, up to 1.6&#xd7;1.6 mm, while simultaneously maintaining a sub-femtoliter effective 3D resolution by means of a high-NA and low magnification objective lens and further maintaining a high acquisition speed with synchronized sampling, limited by the repetition rate of a high repetition rate pulsed laser source, thereby exceeding Nyquist Criterion for resolving micro-optical resolution throughout a horizontal FOV of more than one millimeter.

Large-angle optical raster scanning system for deep tissue imaging

This invention relates to a vacuum-pump sucker for high-resolution microscopy comprising a sucker body and a transparent plate. The vacuum-pump sucker is designed as a stabilizer for sample stabilization in a clinical optical virtual biopsy system with sub-micron resolution. The sucker is connected with a vacuum pump. As the vacuum pump pumps out air or gas, tissues around the imaged area will be sucked by the sucker and the distance between objective lens and the imaged tissue can be stabilized. In this way, the stability and resolution of the clinical biopsy system can be greatly improved.

The present application discloses optical microscopy systems and related method that use modulation techniques and contrast agents to enable the systems to detect nonlinear photoacoustic signals with high spectrum sensitivity and frequency selectivity for imaging. A laser beam is amplitude modulated for pure sinusoidal modulation using either the loss modulation technique or the single light amplitude modulation technique. The sample used in the invention is an endogenous contrast agent by itself or is treated by at least one exogenous contrast agent to produce or enhance photoacoustic effect induced by multi-photon absorption. The modulated laser beam is focused via a focusing device onto a sample which absorbs multiple photons simultaneously and generates ultrasonic (acoustic) waves via nonlinear photoacoustic effect. The ultrasonic waves are received and transformed into electrical signals and the frequency signals within the electrical signals are detected and recorded to create images.

Optical microscopy systems based on photoacoustic imaging

A method and non-transitory computer readable medium for processing an oversampled image is disclosed. Filters are applied to an oversampled image to obtain a filtered image. The image filters are Gabor filter, cosine filter, laplacian of Gaussian filter, and radial filter. The filtered image can be turned into a displayed image that is displayed. The displayed image can be a 3D image. The displayed image can be refreshed at a rate of about one frame per second.

Virtual spatial overlap modulation microscopy for resolution improvement

The present invention provides a plural third harmonic generation (THG) microscopic system and method. The system includes a laser device, a microscopic device, a beam splitter device and a photodetective device. By utilizing lasers with different central wavelengths or a broad band light source to simultaneously analyze THG response with respect to different wavelengths, a plurality of THG images and THG spectrum of the material or bio-tissue under stimulation of different wavelengths are obtained, thereby retrieving distributed microscopic images and resonant characteristics of the observational material or bio-molecules.

The present invention discloses microwave resonant absorption (MRA) of viruses through dipolar coupling to viral confined acoustic modes. The unique geometrical and mechanical properties of viruses can be reflected by the MRA frequencies, MRA linewidth, and the absorption selection rules of high-order acoustic modes. Combined these spectral characteristics with the mature microwave technology, this invention provides a novel physical mechanism to develop non-affinity-based rapid detection and identification of viruses. It can be applied in preliminary characterization on unknown or mutant viruses.

Detect and identify virus by the microwave absorption spectroscopy

The invention discloses a plastic waveguide for guiding terahertz (THz) wave with a wavelength ranging from 30 to 3000 &#x3bc;m. The plastic waveguide includes a core and a cladding layer. At least part of the core is made of a first plastic medium having a first refractive index, and the maximum length of a cross-section of the core is smaller than the wavelength of the guided terahertz wave. The cladding layer surrounds the core and has a second refractive index lower than the first refractive index. In the invention, only one wave mode is propagated in the plastic waveguide, and a first attenuation constant of the core for the guided terahertz wave is higher than a second attenuation constant of the cladding layer for the guided terahertz wave.
