A fluid flow plate for fuel cells may include a first surface and a second surface. The first surface has a first fluid inlet for receiving a first fluid, a plurality of first flow channels extending substantially along a first direction for transporting the first fluid, and a first fluid outlet for releasing the first fluid. The second surface having a second fluid inlet for receiving a second fluid, a plurality of second flow channels extending substantially along the first direction for transporting the second fluid, and a second fluid outlet for releasing the second fluid. The first fluid inlet and the second fluid outlet each is located near a first side of the fluid flow plate, and the first fluid outlet and second fluid inlet each is located near a second side of the fluid flow plate. The second side of the fluid flow plate is opposite to its first side. Each of the first and second flow channels has substantially the same length.

Fluid flow plate assemblies for use in fuel cells having flow channels with substantially same length

A fuel cell failure prediction apparatus is provided. The prediction apparatus includes upstream and downstream voltage monitoring units, a data processing unit and a system control unit. The upstream and downstream voltages of each single cell may be synchronously monitored by the upstream and downstream voltage monitoring units. According to the monitored upstream and downstream voltages of each single cell, the data processing unit is used to obtain a differential voltage of the upstream and downstream voltages of each single cell. In accordance with the differential voltage, the system control unit performs a correcting control of failure prediction on the fuel cell.

Fuel cell failure prediction apparatus

A fuel cell module may include a membrane electrode assembly, two gas diffusion layers, two current collectors, two sealing members, a fluid flow plate assembly. The fluid flow plate assembly may include a first manifold, a second manifold, and a fluid flow channel. The membrane electrode assembly may include at least one membrane for fuel cell reactions. The two gas diffusion layers may be respectively coupled with two opposite sides of the membrane electrode assembly. The two current collectors respectively coupled with the two gas diffusion layers, and the two sealing members respectively coupled with the two current collectors. The fluid flow plate assembly may be coupled with the membrane electrode assembly at a first side of the two opposite sides of the membrane electrode assembly, with at least a corresponding one of the two gas diffusion layers, at least a corresponding one of the two current collectors, and at least a corresponding one of the two sealing members coupled between the fluid flow plate assembly and the first side of the membrane electrode.

A fuel cell module may include a membrane electrode assembly two gas diffusion layers, two current collectors, two sealing members, and a fluid flow plate assembly. The membrane electrode assembly may include at least one membrane for fuel cell reactions, and the two gas diffusion layers may be respectively coupled with the two opposite sides of the membrane electrode assembly. The fluid flow plate assembly is coupled with the membrane electrode assembly at a first side of the two opposite sides of the membrane electrode assembly. At least one of the membrane electrode assembly, the two gas diffusion layers, the two current collectors, and the two sealing members has a non-planar surface prior to an assembly of the membrane electrode assembly, the two gas diffusion layers, the two current collectors, and the two sealing members, and the non-planar surface is at least partially flattened when the assembly occurs.

According to embodiments of the invention, a fuel cell fluid flow field plate is provided. The fuel cell fluid flow field plate includes a flexible substrate including a fluid distribution zone having at least one flow channel, a manifold penetrating the flexible substrate and next to the fluid distribution zone, an upward extending portion extending upward at a position near an interface between the manifold and the fluid distribution zone, wherein a bend angle is between the upward extending portion and the fluid distribution zone, and the upward extending portion has at least one through-hole penetrating through the flexible substrate to expose the manifold, and a cover extending portion linking with the upward extending portion and covering a portion of the fluid distribution zone.

A fluid flow plate of a fuel cell includes a main body and a supporting frame. The main body includes a plurality of fluid channels and an opening, wherein the fluid channels converge at the opening. The supporting frame, mounted on the periphery of the opening, is annular shaped and frames the fluid channels. The supporting frame includes a pair of supporting walls respectively disposed on two sides of the fluid channels.

A fuel cell stack including a first end plate, a second end plate, at least a fuel cell, a first current collector and a second current collector is provided. The first end plate includes a first end plate structure component, which is combined with a first end plate manifold component. The second end plate includes a second end plate structure component, which is combined with a second end plate manifold component. The first and the second end plate manifold components are placed between the first and the second end plate structure components, while the fuel cell is disposed between the first and the second end plate manifold components. The first current collector is disposed between the first end plate manifold component and the fuel cell. The second current collector is disposed between the second end plate manifold component and the fuel cell.

A fluid cell fluid flow plate comprises: a fluid flow plate, having one face being a fluid flow face for receiving a reactive fluid and the other face being a non-active surface, provided with a first manifold, a second manifold, and a flow channel disposed on the fluid flow face; and a shell passageway piece, configured with parallel-disposed first face and second face that are connected to each other through a connecting face with at least one through hole provided thereon; wherein the flow channel being respectively connected to the first manifold through a first opening and to the second manifold through a second opening; and when the shell passageway piece and the fluid flow plate are combined, the first face contacts the fluid flow face, the second face contacts the non-active surface, and the first manifold communicates with the first opening by the through hole.

An adapter for connecting a first low bit rate transmission link and a second high bit rate transmission link is disclosed. The adapter receives frames transmitted via the first link. The frames are of variable length and include a flag, an address field, a control field, a variable length data field and a frame check sequence. Each frame also includes after the flag a length code indicative of the frame length, which length code does not alter a frame check sequence of the frame. The adapter includes a processor which determines for each frame in response to the length code a specific time at which the adapter begins transmitting the frame out onto the second transmission link. The specific time is chosen for each frame so that the completion of the transmitting of the frame out on the second link substantially coincides with the completion of the receiving of the frame from the first transmission link. The length code of each frame is removed when it is transmitted out over the second transmission link. The inventive adapter is especially useful is certain kinds of ISDN networks. For example, a fractional terminal equipment (F-TE) may generate the frames with the length codes and transmit these frames in a sub-B channel which runs on an ISDN S/T interface bus at a rate of 64/N kbps, where N is an integer greater than two. The adapter forms part of a fractional network terminator (F-NT) which adapts the frames for transmission on a 64 kbps link, for example, to a central office.

A system and method are disclosed for adapting the rate of a data terminal equipment having a V-series type interface connected to an integrated services digital network which supports more than two simultaneous communications. A V.110 rate adapter is provided which receives user data at a user data rate from the data terminal equipment and outputs a bitstream containing the user data at a B-channel data rate. A fractional rate adapter is also provided which receives this bitstream and outputs a second bitstream at a lower subchannel data rate using a bit discarding technique.

A system is disclosed which permits simultaneous multiple switched type communications on a basic access integrated services digital network (ISDN) without changing the standard frame format for transmission on the S/T interface. Simultaneous communication by up to 2N terminal equipments is achieved by defining a multiframe of N subframes, and separately allocating each of the 2N time slots of the B-channels within the N subframes to up to 2N terminal equipments for simultaneous communication over a single S interface bus.

The plastic lens composition of the present invention exhibits high refractive index, low shrinkage factor, low specific gravity, low water absorption rate, excellent impact resistance and cutting and grinding processability, and can be polymerized using an injection molding process with substantially reduced reaction time.
