A MSIM UE may perform network operations for each network subscription. However, if the MSIM UE employs subscriptions for the same network, these operations may be performed redundantly. By notifying the network of multiple subscriptions at the UE and associating the multiple subscriptions at the network, the present invention provides power-saving at the UE and reduces network signaling overhead by optimizing communication for MSIM UE. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be configured to indicate to a network that the UE is associated with a plurality of network subscriptions, the plurality of network subscriptions including at least a first network subscription and a second network subscription, transmit location information using the first network subscription to the network, wherein the location information corresponds to a UE location, and receive data associated with the second subscription from the network.

Location update optimizations for intra-PLMN multi-SIM UEs

A MSIM UE may perform various network operations for each network subscription. However, if the MSIM UE employs subscriptions for different network operators, the UE may need to periodically tune away for an active data transmission. Such tune-away may cause the UE to miss scheduled communications from the network. Aspects of the present invention are directed to a mechanism by which a UE can notify a base station of the MSIM state, and thereby allow the network to improve scheduling for the UE to allow for periodic tune-away by the UE with minimal impact on scheduled communications. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may by a UE, such as MSIM UE. The apparatus may be configured to determine that the UE is associated with one or more network subscriptions, and transmit a subscription indication to a network device, wherein the subscription indication identifies a subscription state of the UE to the network.

Methods, systems, and devices are described for enhanced power savings in wireless devices through mobile initiated dormancy procedure. A user equipment (UE) may establish radio resource control (RRC) connectivity with a base station of the network, and transmit and receive one or more distinct signaling messages for dormancy state initialization and suspension at the UE. Dormancy state implementation at the UE may conserve available power resources at the UE during periods of inactive data transaction. The one or more signaling messages may contain a single or multi-bit indication for the receiving device, and may be transmitted via direct signaling on upper layer protocols of the data network or mapped to allocated resources of a data transmission. The signaling messages may sustain synchronization between the interpreted functional mode of the UE at the base station and the implemented mode at the UE.

The UE associated with multiple network subscriptions may determine a first timing of a first set of paging occasions associated with a first network subscription of the multiple network subscriptions, wherein the first network subscription is associated with a first network; determine a second timing of a second set of paging occasions associated with a second network subscription of the multiple network subscriptions, wherein the second network subscription is associated with a second network; compare the first timing and the second timing; detect a paging time adjustment condition based on the comparing; and transmit, based on detecting the paging time adjustment condition, a paging frame offset adjustment request to the first network, the second network or both.

A multi-SIM UE may perform network SIB acquisition for each network subscription. By identifying that the UE is employing multiple subscriptions, the UE and network can perform a single SIB acquisition for multiple subscriptions, which reduces power consumption and optimize network signaling overhead. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for call continuity following radio link failure (RLF) through re-establishment of a voice call using a same or different radio access technology (RAT) before the call is dropped. Upon detection of RLF on a connection supporting a voice call, a UE may initiate a drop call timer and scan for available connections. The voice call may be attempted to be re-established if a connection is available on using a RAT of an existing connection. The voice call in such cases may continue without the call being dropped. Upon expiration of the drop call timer, the UE may attempt to establish a connection using a RAT identified during the duration of the drop call timer.

Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication. The disclosure provides for a user equipment (UE) detecting an indication of an application-specific latency reduction triggering condition that may trigger switching of a communication state of the UE. For example, the UE may be in an initial state. The UE may transition into a different state that is associated with lower latency for data transfer. In an aspect, the UE may trigger the indication for latency reduction even when the network-configured criteria for the indication has not yet been met. The UE may trigger an application-specific latency reduction triggering condition during the startup of an application, which triggers a resource request message even before the network-configured threshold value for generating such resource request messages is satisfied. The resource request message may cause the network to command the UE to transition to a state that has a latency less than that in the current state.

The disclosure provides for a UE handling messages in wireless communication. The disclosure provides for a UE partially exchanging a first signaling-related message associated with a first UE configuration with a network entity and triggering a state transition message that initiates a change to a second UE configuration different from the first UE configuration. In an aspect, the UE determines that the first message has not been successfully received or successfully transmitted. In an aspect, the UE sends an indication message to coordinate discarding of the first message with the network entity and receives, after sending the indication message, a second signaling-related message associated with the second UE configuration. In another aspect, the UE, after partially sending a signaling-related message, receives a reconfiguration request associated with a second UE configuration. In an aspect, the UE determines that the message has not been successfully transmitted and causes a reconfiguration failure.

The present aspects relate to enabling a user equipment (UE) to operate in Dual Carrier mode during wireless communication, including generating an event trigger to be transmitted to a network entity in response to the UE satisfying a maximum transmit power threshold value, wherein generating the event trigger initiates a trigger timer that controls when to transmit the event trigger to the network. The aspects further include determining whether a plurality of optimization conditions are met, and modifying a transmission scheme based on the determination that the plurality of optimization conditions are met, wherein modifying the transmission scheme prevents the transmission of the event trigger to the network entity and resets the trigger timer.

Aspects related to allocating transmission power in wireless communications are described. It can be determined whether data is to be transmitted on an uplink control channel in one or more upcoming transmission time intervals (TTIs). Based on this determination, transmission power is allocated to an uplink enhanced dedicated channel in the one or more upcoming TTIs. Where uplink control channel data is not to be transmitted in the one or more upcoming TTIs, transmission power that would have been used for the uplink control channels can instead be allocated to the enhanced dedicated channel.
