An ultrasound transducer includes a transducer array having a plurality of transducer elements. The transducer array has a first side and a second side. Further, one or more ground electrodes are disposed on the first side of the transducer array, and one or more signal electrodes are disposed on the second side of the transducer array. Moreover, an acoustic backing structure is operatively coupled to the plurality of transducer elements of the transducer array. Also, a plurality of electrical traces is routed on a surface of the acoustic backing structure and operatively coupled to at least one of the one or more signal electrodes and one or more ground electrodes.

An ultrasound system is provided for imaging an object. The ultrasound system includes an ultrasound probe for acquiring ultrasound data and a cooling subsystem for actively removing heat from the ultrasound probe. The cooling subsystem includes a pump disposed within a reservoir containing a coolant and configured to circulate the coolant through the ultrasound probe via a conduit.

A low noise, multiple output power supply circuit featuring a plurality of efficient linear regulators comprises a transformer having a primary circuit with a primary transformer input winding and a plurality of secondary circuits. Each secondary circuit has a secondary transformer output winding having the same number of turns of secondary windings. A saturable reactor core is placed in series with at least one selected output winding of at least one selected secondary circuit to subtract a small amount of average voltage, volt-seconds, from the output voltage of the selected output winding to allow different rectified DC voltages to be obtained from different output windings which have the same number of turns.

Low-noise multi-output power supply circuit featuring efficient linear regulators and method of design

A filament-heater power supply includes a combination forward and flyback power converter for supplying electronically variable, isolated voltages to dimmable discharge lamp filaments while supplying a fixed dc output voltage to a ballast control circuit. Hence, only a single ballast power supply is needed. The control circuit controls the level of filament voltage to operate the lamp filaments at an optimum temperature, even during dimming operation, thereby substantially extending lamp life. The filament-heater power supply provides a high degree of isolation among filament voltages while regulating and tracking the voltage across each filament. The filament-heater power supply can preheat the filaments to aid lamp starting, thereby extending the useful life of the lamp, and is also structured to sense when a lamp is not present in a fixture so that high voltage starting pulses are not applied to the terminals of an empty fixture.
