Outcomes from a patient plan of care are provided in conjunction with documentation of patient assessment items to assist clinicians in the healthcare process. A documentation area for documenting assessment items for a patient and having areas for entering patient assessment information is presented. Additionally, an outcome icon is presented in conjunction with at least one assessment item. The outcome icon relates to at least one outcome corresponding with the assessment item and is based on the patient plan of care. In response to receiving a user selection of the outcome icon, information associated with the outcome is presented in context of the documentation area.

Patient outcomes in context of documentation

Document of medication administration is provided by a clinician acknowledging previous clinical results such that the previous clinical results are used for documentation purposes. A command is received to document the administration of a medication to patient. Based on the command, it is determined that documentation of the medication administration requires entry of information regarding at least one clinical result for the patient. Additionally, it is determined that a previous clinical result is available for documentation. The medication administration is then documented using the previous clinical result.

Management of patient activities for a clinician is provided via a patient activity list. The patient activity list includes a timeline view comprising a two-dimensional representation in which a first dimension corresponds with one or more patients assigned to the clinician and a second dimension corresponds with time periods. The timeline view includes one or more scheduled clinical activities, each scheduled clinical activity being presented in the timeline view based on a scheduled time and a corresponding patient. In response to a user selection of a time period in the timeline view, details of scheduled clinical activities corresponding with the selected time period are provided within the timeline view.

Viewing clinical activity details within a selected time period

Management of patient activities for a clinician is provided by a patient activity list the may present the clinician's role relevant activities in conjunction with multidisciplinary activities to be performed for a patient. A timeline view area is presented having role relevant scheduled activities for one or more patients assigned to the clinician. Each role relevant scheduled activity comprises an activity to be performed by the clinician and is presented in the timeline view area based on a scheduled time and in association with a corresponding patient. When a user selection of at least one of the patients is received, one or more multidisciplinary activities for the patient are presented within the timeline view area. The multidisciplinary activities include activities scheduled to be performed by other clinicians, and each multidisciplinary activity is presented in the timeline view area based on a scheduled time.

Providing multidisciplinary activities in context of clinician's role relevant activities

Management of patient activities for a clinician is described herein. A patient activity list provides a common view of activities for patients assigned to a clinician for a given time period, such as a shift. The patient activity list provides a simplified view with critical indicators providing critical patient information. Patient activities may include ad hoc activities and scheduled activities presented in a timeline view based on the scheduled time period for each respective activity. Only activities relevant to the clinicians role are included and each activity is represented as a graphical icon representative of the type of activity. The patient activity list is fully navigable to allow the clinician to access further information and complete activities within context of the clinician's activities.

Patient activity coordinator

A clinical activity navigator facilitates documentation of multiple clinical activities. When a plurality of clinical activities are selected for document, an activity navigator user interface may be presented that includes an indication for each of the clinical activities. The indication for each clinical activity includes a link to documentation for the corresponding clinical activity. A user selection of an indication for one of the clinical activities is received via the activity navigator user interface. In response to the user selection, a documentation user interface for that clinical activity is presented that allows entry of information associated with that clinical activity.
