A disposable cup lid for use with a beverage container can include a base, an annular rim, a crown, and a dispensing section having a drinking aperture. The annular rim can be disposed about the base and can be configured to engage the beverage container. The crown can extend upward from the base and can include an upper surface, one or more inner sidewalls, and one or more outer sidewalls. The dispensing section can be located within a portion of the crown and can include an upper surface, one or more inner sidewalls, and one or more outer sidewalls. The dispensing section can include at least one generally straight portion of the inner sidewall that is directly opposed to at least one generally straight portion of the outer sidewall. The drinking aperture can be formed through the upper surface of the dispensing section for allowing the passage of fluid therethrough.

Methods for securing a shrinkable film to a paperboard substrate and methods for making paperboard containers therefrom. In one or more embodiments, a band of adhesive may be applied about a perimeter of a paperboard substrate having a first edge and a second edge opposed to one another and a third edge and a fourth edge opposed to one another. The band of adhesive may at least partially surround a first area that is substantially free from the adhesive. A second area that may be substantially free from the adhesive may be located between the third edge and the first area. The first area and the second area may be separated by the band of adhesive. A shrinkable film may be secured to the paperboard substrate with the adhesive to produce a paperboard blank. The third edge and the fourth edge may be overlapped to form a sidewall. A bottom panel may be secured to the sidewall at or adjacent the second edge. The first edge may be curled to form a brim.

A personal care absorbent article such as a disposable diaper, sanitary pad or tampon, wound dressing or bandage which includes a nonwoven web material made from a plurality of polymeric fibers having at least one treatment chemistry suitable for modifying at least one characteristic of a high viscoelasticity fluid upon contact with the high viscoelasticity fluid. In accordance with one particularly preferred embodiment, the treatment chemistry is suitable for immobilizing the high viscoelasticity fluid within the nonwoven web material.

An absorbent article includes an odor control agent deposited in a visible pattern on a material layer of the article. The odor control agent has a color so as to present a distinguishable pattern against a contrasting colored background defined by the material layer. The article includes a top cover defining a bodyfacing surface of the absorbent article, and the odor control agent is disposed beneath the bodyfacing surface and is visible through the top cover, or may be deposited directly on the bodyfacing surface of the top cover.

A personal care absorbent article, such as a sanitary pad or napkin, wound dressing, and the like having one or more layers of absorbent material treated with a red blood cell lysing agent and a gelling agent. The effect of combining a lysing agent that thins menses or other blood-containing bodily fluids with a gelling agent that thickens menses or other blood-containing bodily fluids is enhanced agglomeration and increased viscosity of the blood-containing bodily fluids that come in contact with the treated material.

A wet-formed composite defining latent voids and macro-cavities, the wet-formed composite having a basis weight greater than about 100 grams per square meter and a density of about 0.06 grams per cubic centimeter or more. The wet-formed composite comprises fibers and superabsorbent material, with the superabsorbent material present in an amount of about 10 dry weight percent or less, specifically about 5 dry weight percent or less, and particularly about 2 dry weight percent or less, but more than 0, based on the total dry weight of fibers and superabsorbent material present in the wet-formed composite. By virtue of the superabsorbent material having been allowed to swell and then shrink during the making of the wet-formed composite, macro-cavities are created. Densification compresses the macro-cavities. The resulting composite expands upon wetting and exhibits good absorbency properties.

An absorbent article includes a vapor permeable backsheet, a liquid permeable topsheet positioned in facing relation with the backsheet; and an absorbent body located between the backsheet and the topsheet. The absorbent body may include multiple zones of high air permeability or may include materials which provide improved air exchange after being wetted. The absorbent article may also include a ventilation layer between the absorbent body and the backsheet and a surge management layer between the absorbent body and the topsheet. The article exhibits improved air exchange within the article during use. As a result, the article exhibits substantially reduced levels of hydration of the wearer's skin when in use which renders the skin less susceptible to the viability of microorganisms.

Absorbent article with increased wet breathability

Disclosed herein is a combination apertured film and lofty fibrous nonwoven web separation layer which is particularly well suited for use as, among other things, a body side liner for personal care absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins and the like. When used in such applications, the material of the present invention has excellent liquid penetration rates and it resists rewet of the surface of the material.
