The present invention provides novel pyrazolo[4,3-c]quinoline derivatives exhibiting specifically inhibition activity to microbiota &#x3b2;-glucuronidase, whereby providing potent activities to prevent chemotherapy-induced diarrhea (CID) of cancers. Therefore, the compounds of the present invention can be used as (1) chemotherapy-adjuvant to prevent chemotherapy-induced diarrhea (CID) and enhance chemotherapeutic efficiency of cancers; (2) health-food supplement to prevent the carcinogens induced colon carcinoma.

Disclosed herein are compounds of formula (I), and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the same.
