A communication connector capable of sustaining Category 6 performance when subjected to physical stress in an operating environment. The connector includes a connector housing, and a wire board with contact wires extending over a top surface of the board to establish points of electrical contact with terminals of a mating connector when the latter is inserted in the connector housing. A terminal housing is fixed on the top surface of the wire board, for supporting a number of connector terminals which are mounted on the board. The terminal housing and the connector housing are constructed and arranged to engage one another when the wire board is inserted with its contact wires in the connector housing, so that displacement of the points of contact between the contact wires and the terminals of the mating connector, is restrained during use of the communication connector.

High performance communication connector construction

An adjustable cable egress mechanism for cable connectors. The mechanism includes a protective hood, and a hub mounted inside the hood for rotation about a hub axis. The hub has a cable passage, and the hood has an outside wall with an elongated cable egress slot. The egress slot opens into the cable passage in the hub over a predetermined range of angular positions of the hub. Thus, a cable whose conductors terminate in an associated connector can be routed through the egress slot in the hood and the cable passage in the hub, and the cable rotated with the hub to a desired egress angle within the predetermined range. In the illustrated embodiment, the finger hub is engaged by latch formed on part of the hood to hold the cable at the desired egress angle.

Adjustable cable egress mechanism for cable connectors

An electrical connector, comprising an insulating housing, a plurality of conductors mounted within the insulating housing in at least two rows of aligned pairs, a first compensation section which provides a first crosstalk compensation, and a second compensation section which provides a second crosstalk compensation. A first end portion of each conductor is adapted to electrically connect with contacts of another connector while a second end portion of each conductor is adapted to electrically connect with an electrical device such as a printed circuit board. The first compensation section is located within the insulating housing with the conductors being arranged therein in an orientation to provide the first crosstalk compensation. The second compensation section further is located within the connector and typically comprises a multi-layered circuit board.

A cable strain relief connector has a generally rectangular, elongated connector body with a terminal face at a front side of the body for engaging terminals of a mating connector, and a cable end face at a rear side of the body. The connector body has mounting fastener openings at each end of the length of the body for receiving fasteners for mounting the connector body in electrical connecting relation the mating connector. A cable strain relief clamp is seated on the cable end face of the connector body and extends over the cable end face between the fastener openings at each end of the connector body.

Apparatus for rapid interchanging of different ramping mechanisms for capping equipment. When capping equipment is to be changed from providing roll-on closures to glass bottles to providing threaded plastic closures to plastic bottles, the positions of the bottles relative to the capping turret mechanism must be altered by changing the ramping mechanisms guiding the bottles. The ramping mechanism is maintained in position by a locking plate engaging a resilient connection connected to the ramping mechanism. The apparatus is designed so that when the locking plate is slightly rotated, the ramping mechanism can be readily removed and a different one inserted. Rotation of the locking plate in the other direction locks the new ramping mechanism in place.
