Provided is a display device including a display panel including a sub-pixel connected to a data line and a reference line, a driving circuit configured to supply a data voltage to the display panel through the data line, and a sensing circuit including a sampling circuit for sensing the display panel through the reference line, wherein the sampling circuit includes a sampling switch having a turn-on state within an image display period of the display panel to acquire a sensing voltage by sensing the reference line and determine presence or absence of a defect based on the sensing voltage.

An organic light emitting display device includes an organic light emitting element emitting light, a driving transistor configured to control a driving current supplied to the organic light emitting element, a first switch transistor configured to transfer a voltage input through a data line to a first node of the driving transistor, a second switch transistor turned on/off simultaneously with the first switch transistor to connect a second node of the driving transistor and a sensing line, a sensing capacitor connected to the sensing line to store a sensing voltage during an organic light emitting element threshold voltage sensing period, and a first switch configured to disconnect the sensing capacitor from the sensing line during a period in which sensing data for sensing a threshold voltage of the organic light emitting element is input to the data line and to connect the sensing capacitor to the sensing line during the organic light emitting element threshold voltage sensing period.

Organic light emitting display device and driving method thereof

The present disclosure relates to a display device and a driving method thereof. The display device includes a sensing unit configured to sense electrical properties of each of pixels; a timing controller including a compensation unit configured to modulate pixel data to be written to the pixels based on sensed data from the sensing unit, a sensing error processing unit configured to analyze the sensed data to detect a sensing error, and a gate control unit configured to output a gate timing control signal; a level shifter configured to receive the gate timing control signal and output a clock; and a gate driver configured to receive the clock from the level shifter and supplying a gate signal to the gate lines, wherein the sensing error processing unit resets the timing controller when the sensing error is detected.
