An adhesive composition is provided. The adhesive composition for zipper bag application, comprising the following components: (a) a mixture of a polyurethane dispersion with acrylic emulsion, wherein the polyurethane dispersion comprises a reaction product of by dry weight based on total dry weight of the polyurethane dispersion, from 30% to 50% of a monomeric diisocyanate, from 45% to 69% of a polymeric polyol and from 1% to 15% of ionic surfactant, the polyurethane dispersion has a Tg of −15° C. to 15° C., and the acrylic emulsion has a Tg of −10° C. to 25° C., and wherein the ratio by weight of the polyurethane dispersion and the acrylic emulsion is from 15:85 to 85:15, (b) a polyisocyanate.

Adhesive composition

A process comprises (i) providing an isocyanate component A that is a reaction product of an aliphatic polyisocyanate, an aromatic polyisocyanate, an aliphatic polyester polyol, and a polyether polyol; (ii) providing a polyol component B comprising an aliphatic polyester polyol and a polyether polyol; (iii) mixing A and B to form a solventless adhesive (SLA) composition component A and component B each comprises an aliphatic polyester polyol having a viscosity from 800 to 6000 mPa·s at 25° C. and a hydroxyl number from 60 to 180 mg KOH/g; the SLA composition has (a) an initial viscosity at 40° C. from 500 to 1600 mPa·s, (b) an increasing viscosity ratio from 100% to 112% of the initial viscosity after the SLA composition stands at 40° C. for 10 min, and (c) an end viscosity at 40° C. from 120% to 210% of the initial viscosity at 40 min after forming the SLA composition.

Solventless adhesive composition process and laminate with same

An adhesive composition including a reaction mixture of: (A) at least one isocyanate-containing compound; (B) at least one polyol compound; and (C) a copolymerized crystalline latent catalyst; a process for making the above adhesive composition; and a laminate structure made using the above adhesive composition.

A solventless adhesive composition is provided. The solventless adhesive composition comprises (A) an isocyanate prepolymer having a side chains represented by —R—(O—R—O)—Rand (B) an isocyanate-reactive component, and exhibits improved bond strength, heat seal strength, adhesive COF property and optical appearance. Solventless adhesive composition and method for preparing the same

Water-based adhesive composition are disclosed, the compositions comprising an acrylic dispersion, an epoxy-terminated polyester incorporated into the acrylic dispersion, and a water-dispersible isocyanate. Methods for laminating a first substrate to a second substrate are also disclosed, the methods comprising (a) providing an acrylic dispersion, (b) providing an epoxy-terminated polyester, (c) mixing the acrylic dispersion and the epoxy-terminated polyester, (d) mixing the mixture of (c) with a water-dispersible isocyanate to form an adhesive composition, (e) coating the adhesive composition of (d) on a surface of the first substrate, (f) drying the adhesive compositions on the first substrate to remove water, and (g) bringing the adhesive composition on the surface of the first substrate into contact with a surface of a second substrate, thereby laminating the first substrate to the second substrate. Laminates prepared comprising the water-based adhesives and according to the disclosed methods are also disclosed.

Water-based adhesive compositions

The present disclosure provides a two-component solventless adhesive composition comprising a polyol component and an isocyanate component. The polyol component comprises a phosphate functional compound, and at least one polyol selected from polyester, polyether, and the combination thereof; and the isocyanate component comprises isocyanate prepolymer that is the reaction product of at least one isocyanate monomer and at least one polyol selected from polyester, polyether, and the combination thereof.

Aqueous polyurethane dispersion

An aqueous polyurethane dispersion compositions are disclosed. The compositions include a polyurethane prepolymer dispersed in an aqueous medium, the polyurethane prepolymer comprising an isocyanate and a crystalline polyester polyol having a hydroxyl content of 20 to 150 mg KOH/g and a melt temperature of less than or equal to 90&#xb0; C. Methods of forming a laminate are also disclosed. The methods include providing an aqueous polyurethane dispersion, applying the polyurethane dispersion to a surface of the first substrate, bringing the side of the first substrate into contract with a surface of the second substrate, and curing the aqueous dispersion, thereby laminating the first substrate to the second substrate. Laminates formed by the methods and including the compositions are also disclosed.

Aqueous polyurethane dispersion adhesive compositions

A two-component solventless adhesive composition is disclosed, the composition comprising an isocyanate component comprising an isocyanate prepolymer that is the reaction product of reactants comprising at least one polyisocyanate, at least one polyester polyol, at least one polyether polyol, and at least one polyol comprising a hydroxyl and COOH acid functionality. The adhesive composition further comprises a polyol component comprising at least one polyester polyol, at least one polyether polyol, or a combination thereof. A method for forming a laminate using the adhesive composition and a laminate itself are also disclosed. The method comprises forming a solventless adhesive composition, applying a layer of the adhesive composition to a surface of a film, bringing the layer into contact with a surface of another film to form a laminate, and curing the adhesive composition. A laminate made according to the method is further disclosed.

Provided is an aqueous polyurethane dispersion comprising (a) dispersed particles of said polyurethane, wherein said polyurethane is the reaction product of polyurethane formation reactants comprising (i) one or more polyisocyanate, (ii) a polyol component comprising one or more polyol, and (iv) one or more organometallic compound having the structure wherein n is 0 or 1, t is 0 or 1, r is 0 or 1, p is 0 to 2, q is 0 to 13, at least one of p and q is not zero, M is a metal that is not silicon, &#x2014;Xis &#x2014;NHor &#x2014;OH; and &#x2014;X2 is selected from the group consisting of &#x2014;SH, &#x2014;NH, &#x2014;COOH, and and (b) one or more isocyanate crosslinker having two or more isocyanate groups per molecule.
