The present invention discloses a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel and method for forming the same. In the LCD panel, the TFT includes a source and a drain formed by a transparent conducting layer, and a gate formed by a metal layer. The source is electrically connected with a data line through a via hole over the data line. The source connects to the drain via an active layer. Whatever the number of data lines are, each pixel corresponds to an associated via hole, so the number of via holes does not increase, and not reduce the aperture ratio. Therefore, the present invention is very proper to a design using more data lines and working in a high frequency. Moreover, the matrix circuitry of LCD of the present invention is well applied in a display which not only increases a density of data lines to raise the frame rate, but also maintains the aperture ratio and brightness.

LCD panel and method for forming the same

An LCD panel and method for forming the same are proposed. In the LCD panel, the TFT includes a source and a drain formed by a transparent conducting layer, and a gate formed by a metal layer. The source is electrically connected with a data line through a via hole over the data line. The source connects to the drain via an active layer. Whatever the number of data lines are, each pixel corresponds to an associated via hole, so the number of via holes does not increase, and not reduce the aperture ratio. Therefore, the present invention is proper to a design using more data lines and working in a high frequency. Moreover, the matrix circuitry of LCD is well applied in a display which not only increases a density of data lines to raise the frame rate, but also maintains the aperture ratio and brightness.

The present invention provides methods for manufacturing a passivation layer and a thin film transistor (TFT) array substrate. The method for manufacturing the passivation layer comprises the following steps: placing a substrate in a vacuum process chamber; providing an ammonia gas and a nitrogen gas into the vacuum process chamber; forming plasma and evaporating water vapor; and forming the passivation layer on the substrate. The method for manufacturing the passivation layer can be applicable to the method for manufacturing the TFT array substrate. The present invention can enhance the quality of the passivation layer.

Methods for manufacturing passivation layer and thin film transistor array substrate

A liquid crystal display (LCD) device is disclosed. The LCD device comprises a plurality of pixel units arranged in the form of a matrix. Each of the pixel units comprises: a scan line; a data line; a first storage capacitor; a liquid crystal capacitor; and a first TFT, having a source electrically connected to the data line, a gate electrically connected to the scan line, and a drain electrically connected to the first storage capacitor. Each of the pixel units further comprises a second TFT, having a gate, a source electrically connected to the drain of the first TFT, and a drain electrically connected to the liquid crystal capacitor. The gates of the second TFTs are electrically connected with each other to control the second TFTs to be turned on simultaneously so as to tilt the liquid crystal molecules. Because this shortens the time to wait for scanning of the gates is shortened and increases the time duration in which the backlight can emit light, the number of LEDs can be reduced to lower the cost.

Liquid crystal display device having a second scan line for turning on all second thin film transistors simultaneously

A liquid crystal display (LCD) drive circuit and a driving method thereof are disclosed. The driving method comprises: a. dividing scan lines into a plurality of groups each comprising a plurality of scan lines; b. during displaying of a current image frame, using a scan driver to scan each group of scan lines sequentially, c. during displaying of a next image frame, using the scan driver to scan each group of scan lines sequentially; and d. if each scan line in the group has been scanned once simultaneously with an adjacent scan line within a predetermined time interval, then the step b is executed; otherwise, the step c is executed. The LCD drive circuit and the driving method thereof according to the present disclosure can increase an average charging time of pixel units without compromising the accuracy of image frames.

LCD drive circuit and driving method for scanning at least two adjacent scan lines simultaneously

Disclosed are a 3D image system and 3D glasses. The 3D image system includes a liquid crystal display monitor and the 3D glasses. The liquid crystal display monitor includes a backlight module and a &#xbd;&#x3bb; wave plate. The &#xbd;&#x3bb; wave plate converts lights from by the backlight module into linear polarized lights. The 3D glasses includes a first &#xbc;&#x3bb; wave plate for receiving and converting the linear polarized lights from the &#xbd;&#x3bb; wave plate into circular polarized lights, a second &#xbc;&#x3bb; wave plate for converting the circular polarized lights from the first &#xbc;&#x3bb; wave plate into linear polarized lights, and a second &#xbc;&#x3bb; wave plate for filtering the linear polarized lights from the second &#xbc;&#x3bb; wave plate and transmitting the filtered lights to left and right eyes correspondingly. The present invention saves the cost and decreases the maintaining expense.

3D image system and 3D glasses

A backlight module and a liquid crystal display (LCD) device thereof are proposed. The backlight module includes a DC/DC converter producing a positive/negative voltage level. The backlight module can output the positive and negative levels of driving voltage from an output end of the inverter to drive LEDs through alternately switching. Besides, a constant current can be obtained with designs of power on/off periods and energy-storing inductors to prevent LEDs employing current limiting resistors from having too low current efficiency and from being burnt out.

The present invention discloses a method of splicing polarized films. The method includes steps of providing a substrate; attaching a first polarized film to the substrate; attaching a second polarized film to the substrate so that a side portion of the second polarized film is correspondingly overlapped with a side portion of the first polarized film; correspondingly cutting off the overlapped side portions of the first polarized film and the second polarized film; removing separated parts of the side portions from the first polarized film and the second polarized film; and performing a flatten treatment to the cut side portions of the first polarized film and the second polarized film. A stereoscopic display device and a control method thereof are disclosed. A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel of the stereoscopic display device is configured to display left-eye frames and right-eye frames alternately. Each of the left-eye frames includes a left-eye sub-frame and a black sub-frame that are displayed by a first display region and a second display region alternatively. Each of the right-eye frames includes a right-eye sub-frame and a black sub-frame that are displayed by the first display region and the second display region alternately. The backlight module includes a first backlight and a second backlight. The first backlight and the second backlight are turned on alternately in such a way that the first backlight illuminates the first display region when the first display region displays one of the left-eye sub-frames and the right-eye sub-frames and the second backlight illuminates the second display region when the second display region displays one of the left-eye sub-frames and the right-eye sub-frames. In this way, uniformity in brightness of the stereoscopic display device can be improved.

Stereoscopic display device and control method thereof

A backlight module detecting abnormal lamp tubes and an LCD employing such a backlight module are proposed. The LCD includes a voltage calculator for detecting voltage applied on ends of a lamp tube to monitor the lamp tube. Once the lamp tube becomes abnormal, the voltage varies accordingly. The voltage calculator calculates a voltage signal from a plurality of lamp tubes and produces a voltage value. A protection circuit regards the voltage value as a feedback signal to decide if there are any abnormalities. Once any of the lamp tubes is abnormal, the protection circuit transmits the voltage signal to a pulse-width modulated integrated circuit (PWM IC) to activate a protective function. The protection circuit of the present invention obtains the protection signal by sampling the voltage signal of the ends of the lamp tube and then gets the control signal by means of the calculation of the voltage calculator. Thus, voltage level retrieved from the protection signal are less easily affected by dimming and temperature.

The present invention provides a thin film transistor (TFT) manufacturing method and a TFT, a source electrode or drain electrode of the TFT is electrically connected to a data line directly during a forming process by providing a through hole in a surface above the data line of the TFT, so as to save the process cost. Further, the source electrode and drain electrode of the TFT are also manufactured with poly-silicon rather than metal material used in prior art, processing steps are simplified, thereby further saving the process cost.
