Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), 3D imaging apparatus and operating methods thereof are disclosed. The operating method for the disclosed LCD includes the steps of: driving a pixel array of the LCD to display a frame of data by a first frame scan and a second frame scan; and, controlling a backlight module of the LCD in accordance with the first frame scan and the second frame scan. In the first frame scan, the scan lines of pixel array are driven in groups, wherein, in each group, all rows corresponding thereto are driven by identical data. The rows which have not been driven by correct data in the first frame scan are driven again and corrected in the second frame scan.

Liquid crystal display and 3D imaging apparatus and operating methods thereof

A disclosed apparatus includes a display device having a polarizer, a liquid crystal panel having a first liquid crystal region and a second liquid crystal region of different liquid crystal orientations, and a lenticular lens having a cavity to contain a third liquid crystal region and a fourth liquid crystal region of different liquid crystal orientations, wherein the liquid crystal panel is disposed between the lenticular lens and the display device, and the first liquid crystal region corresponds to the third liquid crystal region, and the second liquid crystal region corresponds to the fourth liquid crystal region.

Image display apparatus and methods for displaying images

A representative display device includes a display module, a polarization controller and a compensator. Each pixel region of the display module has a first sub-pixel region, a second sub-pixel region and a third sub-pixel region respectively providing a first light, a second light and a third light of the same polarization. The polarization controller has control regions that control the polarization of the light passing therethrough. The compensator has first compensating regions, second compensating regions and third compensating regions corresponding to the first sub-pixel regions, the second sub-pixel regions and the third sub-pixel regions, respectively. The compensations of phase retardation of the first light, the second light and the third light generated by passing through the first compensating regions, the second compensating regions and the third compensating regions are different from one another.

Image controllers and display devices

A display apparatus and a method of driving the same are provided. The display apparatus includes a backlight module, a liquid crystal panel and a controller. The backlight module has a plurality of light emitting regions capable of emitting light individually. The liquid crystal panel is disposed at a side of the backlight module. The controller is electrically coupled to the backlight module and the liquid crystal panel. When the liquid crystal panel updates a left-eye image to a right-eye image row by row along a column-direction, the controller sequentially turns on and off the light emitting regions along the column-direction, such that a whole region of the liquid crystal panel lighted by light emitting region displays the left-eye image or the right-eye image.
