A technique for wireless communication of a punctured null data packet with a long training field sequence is disclosed. The long training field (LTF) sequence is generated for the null data packet (NDP) for transmission over a channel having a bandwidth that is an integer multiple of 80 MHz. The LTF sequence is modulated onto a plurality of tones of the channel excluding tones within a punctured subchannel of a plurality of subchannels of the channel. The modulation may be based on a size and location of the punctured subchannel and a symbol duration associated with transmitting the LTF sequence. The NDP is transmitted including the LTF sequence to a second wireless communication device via the channel. A partial bandwidth feedback may be received in response to the LTF in the punctured NDP.

Various examples with respect to visual depth sensing with accurate and full-range depth fusion and sensing are described. A control circuit of an apparatus receives a plurality of sensor signals that are heterogeneous in type from a plurality of sensors. The control circuit generates first depth-related information of a scene and second depth-related information of the scene based on the plurality of sensor signals. The control circuit then fuses the first depth-related information and the second depth-related information to generate a fused depth map of the scene.

Method and apparatus of depth fusion

Various examples with respect to infrared (IR) patter characteristics for stereo matching are described. A control circuit of an apparatus controls an IR projector to project a patterned IR light. In response, the control circuit receives first data of a left image of a scene from a first camera and second data of a right image of the scene from a second camera. The control circuit then performs stereo matching of the left image and the right image to generate a depth map of the scene. The patterned IR light satisfies one or more characteristic requirements.

In a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication system, there is provided a method for error correction. The method includes receiving an original signal in an initial MIMO format, detecting an error in the original signal, and notifying a transmitter of the error detected in the original signal. The method also includes receiving a new retransmitted signal in a first retransmitted MIMO format, different from the initial MIMO format, the new retransmitted signal including at least a fraction of encoded bits of the original signal. The method also includes correcting the original signal by applying the new retransmitted signal to the original signal.

Method and apparatus for spatial mapping matrix searching

Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure propose multiple codebook searching methods for a receiver in a communication system, wherein the communication system uses a codebook having L pre-coding matrices. First, L matrices are calculated according to the L pre-coding matrices, and the L matrices are inversed mean square error matrices of the L pre-encoding matrices. Then, diagonal cofactors or determinants of at least S matrices of the L matrices are calculated, and a pre-coding matrix used by the receiver is found according to the maximum cofactors of the diagonal of the at least S matrices or ratios between the maximum cofactors of the diagonals and the determinants of the at least S matrices.

Codebook searching apparatus and method thereof

A symbol detector with a sphere decoding method implemented therein. A baseband signal is received to determine a maximum likelihood solution using the sphere decoding algorithm. A QR decomposer performs a QR decomposition process on a channel response matrix to generate a Q matrix and an R matrix. A matrix transformer generates an inner product matrix of the Q matrix and the received signal. A scheduler reorganizes a search tree, and takes a search mission apart into a plurality of independent branch missions, wherein the search tree defines a full search depth N. A plurality of Euclidean distance calculators are controlled by the scheduler to operate in parallel, wherein each has a plurality of calculation units cascaded in a pipeline structure to search for the maximum likelihood solution based on the R matrix and the inner product matrix.
