Disclosed herein is the novel use of use of aspp. extract, which may upregulate neprilysin, induce autophagy, protect neuron from amyloidopathy or tauopathy, and/or promote neurite outgrowth, thus thespp. extract of the present disclosure may be used as a dietary supplement for the prophylaxis or treatment of amyloid related neurodegenerative diseases so as to ameliorate or alleviate symptoms associated with the amyloid related neurodegenerative diseases.

The promoter includes a nucleotide sequence as set forth in any one of SEQ ID NOs: 1&#x2dc;7, a fragment having at least 10 contiguous bases of any one of SEQ ID NOs: 1&#x2dc;7 or a combination thereof, or a nucleotide sequence having 90% or more identity to the nucleotide sequence as set forth in any one of SEQ ID NOs: 1&#x2dc;7.
