A driving device for quickly changing the gray level of the liquid crystal display and its driving method are disclosed. The driving device includes a group of thin film transistors with matrix array, a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines. The driving method for the thedriving device includes: two gate lines in the liquid crystal display are simultaneously or synchronously turned on according to in the bright period or in the black period, the voltage for displaying the present frame interval data or the voltage for displaying black image is given to the thin film transistors connected with the gate lines, and scanning continues in turn. The present invention is suitable for the picture treatment of various liquid crystal displays, organic light emitting diode (OLED) display or plasma display panel (PDP).

The object of quickly changing the gray level of the LCD can be accomplished by the different arrangement of the gate lines and the data lines and the different connection of the thin film transistors with the gate lines and the data lines. A method of increasing image gray-scale response speed comprising the following steps: to divide plural driven gate lines of an LCD into plural areas; to divide the frame interval time relative to the plural areas into plural sub-intervals, and to sequentially activate each first gate line of these areas during a time period of synchronized signals, then to sequentially activate the next gate lines of these areas, the operation is repeated; to apply an advance voltage to at least a gate line to overdrive frames, and to apply an image data voltage to at least a gate line; to repeat the above steps until the end of the entire frame interval time and to enter the next frame interval. The LCD can be fast driven by dividing of time and space. The method suits for treatment of frames of displays of various LCD's and organic light emitting diodes (OLED's).

Method of increasing image gray-scale response speed

Method and device for simulating an impulse-type CRT display is provided, in which the device has first and second input control lines, first and second input data lines, first and second capacitors, a driving voltage output line, and a first transistor having a gate connected to the first input control line, a source connected to the first input data line, and a drain connected to the driving voltage output line, the first capacitor and the drain of a second transistor that is similarly connected to various elements as in the first transistor. The two capacitors are connected to ground respectively, and the driving voltage output line is to output the simulation driving voltage to the pixels of an LCD panel. The first and second input control lines are connected to a first and second gate driver, and the first and second data lines are connected to a data driver respectively.

Method and device for simulating an impulse-type CRT display

A method for luminance compensation of liquid crystal display includes: measuring the original gamma curve of the panel, setting a target gamma curve, inputting an initial gray level to obtain a luminance corresponding to the target gamma curve, finding the adjusted gray level for expressing the luminance from the original gamma curve, repeating the steps stated above to make a lookup table containing plural groups of proportion array. Then calculating the quantity distribution of input gray levels of images, selecting a corresponding proportion array from the lookup table according to the proportion value between dark level and bright level, substituting the adjusted gray levels in the proportion array for the input gray levels, outputting the adjusted gray levels for adjusting the signal intensity can improve the image quality. The method and the device for luminance compensation can adjust the intensity of input signals to obtain better image quality and suit for the image adjustment of various liquid crystal displays or similar displays.

A driving method for LCD panels is disclosed, wherein the driver circuit includes multiple data line drivers and at least two gate line drivers, and the first gate line driver produces a normal image with sequential line scanning starting from the beginning of a frame, and the second gate line driver produces a dimmed image starting from a predetermined number of lines below at the same time to emulate one full sweep across a CRT. Therefore, a dimmed image is inserted into every digitized image, where a dimmed image is defined to be a digitized image with each pixel having a fraction 1/N of the original pixel value. The LCD panel drive using this driving method achieves performance closer to the impulse approach used in CRT displays, and the flickering phenomenon can be significantly rectified.

A method and device for overdriving a liquid crystal display is provided, which overcomes the limitations and disadvantages of prior arts. The invention can reduce the optical response time of liquid crystal to the driving voltage so that dynamic images can be displayed with superior quality. To achieve the objective of accelerating liquid crystal optical response, the basic pixel structure of the overdrive device provided by the invention contains a first gate line, a second gate line, a first data line, a second data line, a first capacitor, a second capacitor, an output line, a first transistor, and a second transistor. The first transistor has its gate connected to the first gate line, its source connected to the first data line, and its drain connected to the output line, the first capacitor, and the second transistor's drain. The second transistor has its gate connected to the second gate line, its source connected to the second data line, and its drain connected to the output line, the second capacitor, and the first transistor's drain. The first and second capacitors are also connected to the ground. The output line delivers the driving voltage to the corresponding pixel of the LCD display. The first and second gate lines are connected to a gate driver. The first and second data lines are connected to a data driver. The invention also provides a method for overdriving a liquid crystal display.

Method and device for driving liquid crystal display

The present invention relates to a driving circuit of a liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof. The method includes receiving a M-bit image data from an image data input terminal and extracting N most significant bits (MSB)of the M-bit image data to form a N-bit image data. The N-bit image data is delayed by one frame period to form a N-bit delayed image data. The N-bit delayed image data is compared with P MSB of a current M-bit image data to determine whether to generate a first data voltage according to a first image value selected from a reference table, or to generate a second data voltage according to the current M-bit image data.

A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a driving method thereof are disclosed. In order to obtain high-quality images, a signal preprocessor is incorporated in the gray signal modulator of conventional LCDs. The signal preprocessor can be specifically designed as a noise-reduction preprocessor for suppressing the noise induced from the input gray signals, or designed for detecting a certain character of input gray signals for further processes. After be processed by the signal preprocessor, optimized modified gray signals can be obtained from the signal converter for driving the LCD, thereby producing high-quality images.
