The present invention discloses a decoding path selection device for decoding codewords generated by convolutional codes or turbo codes encoders in error correction codes, the decoding path selection device comprising: a branch metrics calculation unit for receiving incoming signals and calculating branch metrics values; a programmable generalized trellis router for generating a decoding path control signal according to the turbo code or convolutional code specification employed by one of communications standards; a multiplexer for receiving the branch metrics values from the branch metrics calculation unit and the decoding path control signal from the programmable generalized trellis router and selecting a corresponding branch metrics value; a recursive calculation unit, connected after the multiplexer and for receiving the corresponding branch metrics value from the multiplexer; and an a-posteriori probability calculation unit, connected after the recursive calculation unit and for calculating a final decoding result.

Decoding path selection device and method

A method for determining a layer stoppage in LDPC decoding is provided. The method may include determining the occurrence of the layer stoppage to detect and record a convergence of a layer arithmetic unit after the performance of a layer decoding operation using LDPC decoding, and in a subsequent iteration operation stopping an operation of the layer arithmetic unit that has converged and repeating determining the layer stoppage for the layer arithmetic unit that has not yet converged. An output of the non-convergent layer may be diverted to the next non-convergent layer while bypassing the convergent layer without interrupting the subsequent iteration operation while maintaining the overall error correction capability.

Method for determining layer stoppage in LDPC decoding

A connection port module is mounted to a side wall of a housing of an electronic device. The electronic device includes a control circuit. The connection port module includes a rotating box, a circuit board, and at least one connection port. The rotating box is formed with at least one opening. The circuit board is electrically coupled to the control circuit. The connection port corresponds in number to the opening and is electrically coupled to the circuit board. The connection port is disposed correspondingly to the opening. The rotating box is pivotable relative to the housing between a first position and a second position.

Connection port module and an electronic device incorporating the same

The present invention provides a removable speaker structure for electronic device, which uses the space for the optical disk drives in electronic devices such as notebook computers or in docking stations. After removing the optical disk drive, the removable speaker can be placed. The removable speaker comprises a main module and a speaker module. The speaker module can be removed form the main module for playing multimedia data and enhancing its sound effects.

An electronic device includes a casing and a battery module removably locked to the casing. The casing includes a connecting wall, two inner side walls connected to opposite ends of the connecting wall and having pillars protruding therefrom, and a first magnetic member disposed at the connecting wall. The battery module includes a first side wall to abut against the connecting wall, and two second side walls connected to two opposite ends of the first sidewall. A second magnetic member is disposed at the first side wall and has a magnetic attraction force with the first magnetic member. Each second side wall is formed with a guiding groove extending along an insertion direction of the battery module for engaging a corresponding pillar.

Electronic device

A monitor opening mechanism includes a first rotating shaft rotatably connected to a host and having a first toothed portion. A stepper motor is disposed in the host and includes a second rotating shaft having a second toothed portion engaging the first toothed portion. A fine-tuning control circuit board is electrically connected to the stepper motor. A first fine-tuning key is electrically connected to the fine-tuning control circuit board. When the first fine-tuning key is operated, the fine-tuning control circuit board drives the second rotating shaft to rotate, forcing the monitor to rotate with respect to the host in a first direction. A second fine-tuning key is electrically connected to the fine-tuning control circuit board. When the second fine-tuning key is operated, the fine-tuning control circuit board drives the second rotating shaft to rotate, forcing the monitor to rotate with respect to the host in a second direction.

A package socket system includes a positioning frame positioned on a circuit board. The positioning frame has an interior space defined between four side walls for receiving and accommodating a BGA socket that retains an array of contacts therein. The contacts have a lower ball end in contact engagement with and supported on conductive pads of the circuit board. A BGA package having an array of solder balls is received in the positioning frame and supported on the socket with the solder balls received in flared upper ends of the contacts of the socket. A heat sink has a flat base supported on the positioning frame and secured to the substrate to establish a firm contact engagement with the package thereby securely maintaining the package and the socket in position on the substrate. The positioning frame has a chamfered section and the socket and the package each have a corresponding chamfered corner for positioning purposes.

Package socket system

A board adapter for electrically connecting an electrical card connector to a mother board, comprises 68 signal holes, 100 conductive pads, a plurality of signal traces, a first grounding means, a transforming unit and a second grounding contact. The first grounding contact surrounds the signal holes and is electrically connected with a corresponding grounding contact of the electrical connector, for providing the signal holes and the electrical connector with grounding protection. The second grounding contact is alternately juxtaposed with every two of the signal traces for providing grounding protection. The conductive pads are electrically connected with either the signal traces or the grounding contacts. The transforming unit includes two power traces to separately bear two different strength voltage induced currents. When either of the traces bears a corresponding voltage induced current, the other trace can be transformed into a grounding trace to protect the bearing trace.

Board adapter

A socket connector (10) includes an housing (12) including a pair of side walls (14) and a pair of end walls (16) commonly defining a cavity (18) for receiving a chip carrier therein. A plurality of passageways (20) are disposed in two side walls (14) of the housing (12) for receiving a corresponding number of contacts (22) therein. A bottom surface (36) is provided with the housing (12) for supportably receiving the chip carrier in the cavity. A plurality of openings (38) are provided in the bottom surface (36) along two opposite sides thereof wherein each opening (38) corresponds to every two adjacent passageways (20). A dividing bar (40) of the bottom surface (36) is provided between every two adjacent openings (38). A pair of shortened abutment wings (42) extend laterally by two sides of the dividing bar (40) and on the under-surface (44) of the bottom surface (36) whereby the surface-mounting contact tails (34) of two adjacent contacts (22) by two sides of every dividing bar (40) can be engageably aligned with the corresponding abutment wings (42), respectively, for maintaining the contact tails (34) in the same plane.
