A sampling phase adjustment device and an adjusting method thereof are disclosed. Sampling phase adjustment device includes feedback summer, adaptive equalizer unit, clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit, data slicer, error slicer, sample calculator unit and enable circuit. The adjusting method is as follows: the data slicer and error slicer receive a sum value generated from the feedback summer, and generate a data signal and an error signal, respectively. The adaptive equalizer unit provides an equalizing signal to the feedback summer and a reference signal to the error slicer. The sample calculator unit generates a sampling adjustment signal based on the data signal and error signal. The CDR circuit is configured to output and adjust a clock signal based on the sampling adjustment signal and data signal. The enable circuit enables the adaptive equalizer unit and the sample calculator unit alternatively.

Sampling phase adjustment device and adjusting method thereof

An adjustable signal equalization device includes an equalizer circuitry, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a calculation circuitry, and a comparator circuitry. The equalizer circuitry has a transfer function, and processes an input signal based on the transfer function to generate an output signal. The ADC generates a digital signal according to the output signal. The calculation circuitry performs an accumulation according to the first digital signal to generate a first accumulated value and a second accumulated value, and generates a first detection signal and a second detection signal according to the first accumulated value and the second accumulated value. The comparator circuitry compares the first detection signal with the second detection signal to output a control signal to the equalizer circuit if the first detection signal is different from the second detection signal, in order to adjust the transfer function.

Adjustable signal equalization device and adjustment method thereof

A clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit is provided, and includes a sampling circuit, an error sampler, a phase detect circuit, and a phase adjust circuit. The sampling circuit generates a data signal according to an input data and a first clock signal, and generates an edge signal according to the input data and a second clock signal. The error sampler compares the input data with a reference voltage according to the first clock signal to generate a control signal. The phase detect circuit receives the control signal and generates a corrective signal according to the data signal and the edge signal. When the values of the control signal and the data signal are different, the phase detect circuit stops transmitting the corrective signal. The phase adjust circuit generates and adjusts the first and the second clock signal according to the corrective signal.

Clock and data recovery circuit and method

A clock and data recovery device includes a data sampling module, a phase detection circuit, a frequency estimator, a clock generation module, and a data recovery module. The data sampling module samples input data according to first clock signals to generate data values, in which phases of the first clock signals are different from one another. The phase detection circuit detects a phase error of the input data according to at least one second clock signal, to generate an error signal. The frequency estimator generates an adjustment signal according to the error signal, a phase threshold value, and a frequency threshold value. The clock generation module generates the first clock signals and the at least one second clock signal according to the adjustment signal and a reference clock signal. The data recovery module generates recovered data corresponding to the input data according to the data values.

Device and method for recovering clock and data

A voltage mode transmitter is provided. The voltage mode transmitter includes a control unit and a resistor ladder circuit. The control unit receives a first signal and delays an inverse of the first signal for a time period to obtain a second signal. The resistor ladder circuit is configured to sum up products of the first signal or the second signal and a plurality of weights, thereby generating an output signal. The resistor ladder circuit includes an input terminal, multiple first resistors and a second resistor. The output terminal is configured to output the output signal. Each of the first resistors is coupled between the output terminal and the control unit and receives the first signal or the second signal. The resistances of the first resistors are 2R, 4R . . . and 2R respectively, where R is a reference resistance. The resistance of the second resistor is 2R.

Voltage mode transmitter

A voltage mode transmitter includes a resistive network and a de-emphasis value controller. The resistive network receives plural input voltages and provides plural weighting values corresponding to respective input voltages. A sum of the products of the plural input voltages and the corresponding weighting values is equal to an output voltage. The de-emphasis value controller receives a first signal. After the first signal is inverted as an inverted first signal and the inverted first signal is delayed for a time period, the de-emphasis value controller generates a second signal. The de-emphasis value controller further receives a value control signal. At least one of the plural input signals is provided by the first signal and at least one of the plural input signals is provided by the second signal according to the value control signal.

A clock data recovery system is provided. A CTLE generates a first equalized signal. An adder superposes the first equalized signal and a feedback equalization signal and generates a superposed signal. A first error slicer slices the superposed signal according to a clock signal and a reference voltage and generates a first error signal. A second error slicer slices the superposed signal according to the clock signal and a second slicing voltage. A data slicer slices the superposed signal according to the clock signal and a third slicing voltage and generates a data signal. A CDR circuit generates the clock signal. An adaptive filter receives the data signal and the first error signal, and generates the reference voltage and a DFE coefficient set. A DFE receives the data signal and the DFE coefficient set, and generates the feedback equalization signal.

Clock data recovery system for Serdes

An apparatus is provided. A first adder generates a first superposed signal in response to a first feedback equalization signal and an input signal. A second adder generates a second superposed signal in response to a second feedback equalization signal and the first superposed signal. An edge slicer generates an edge signal by slicing the first superposed signal. A data slicer generates a data signal by slicing the second superposed signal. An error slicer generates an error signal by slicing the second superposed signal. A CDR circuit generates a first and second clock signal in response to the data signal and the edge signal. An adaptive filter generates the reference signal and equalizer coefficients in response to data signal and the error signal. An equalizing unit generates the first feedback equalization signal and the second feedback equalization signal in response to the data signal and the equalizer coefficients.

Apparatus for clock and data recovery

A method and associated processing module for an interconnection system, providing a pre-tap tuning directing and a post-tap tuning directing. The interconnection system includes a transmitter filter and a receiver equalizer; the transmitter filter performs filtering according to a pre-tap and a post-tap, and the receiver equalizer performs equalization according to an equalizer tap. The pre-tap tuning directing includes: forming an indicative pattern with a plurality of data samples and a transition sample from an equalized signal, comparing if the indicative pattern matches predetermined pattern(s), and accordingly directing whether the pre-tap is incremented/decremented. The post-tap tuning directing selects whether the post-tap is incremented/decremented according to a positive/negative sign of the equalizer tap.

Method and associated processing module for interconnection system

Phase offset cancellation circuit and associated clock generator, include a first modifying phase interpolator and a second modifying phase interpolator, and provide a first modified clock and a second modified clock according to a first to a fourth input clocks; wherein the first and the third clocks are of opposite phases. The first modifying phase interpolator performs equal phase interpolation between the first and the second input clocks to generate the first modified clock, and the second modifying phase interpolator performs equal phase interpolation between the third and the fourth input clocks to generate the second modified clock, such that a phase difference between the first modified clock and the second modified clock is of substantially 90 degrees, against phase offsets between the first to the fourth input clocks.
