A scanning circuit having rearranged circuit modules at each end of a flat cable. After the rearrangement, the flat cable carries scanning control signals produced by a conventional IC communication interface instead of timing signals and carries digital image data instead of easily distorted and interfered analog image signals.

Scanning circuit structure

A full-zone optical image addressing apparatus, including an addressing device, an image extraction converter, a comparator, an AND gate and a counter. The addressing device is located at the enclosure of the scanner and includes a plurality of geometric patterns. Each of the geometric patterns includes a plurality of rows of pixels. While receiving an exposure signal, the image extraction converter extracts one row of pixels from the addressing device, such that a series of analog signals is obtained and output to the comparator. The comparator then compares the series of analog signals to an analog critical voltage to output a series of analog comparison signals to the AND gate. The AND gate synchronously processes the series of analog comparison signals and a pixel rate clock to output the pixel data corresponding to the extracted row of pixels to the counter. After receiving the synchronously processed pixel value from the AND gate, the counter calculates and outputs the extracted row of pixels, including the amount of pixels and the geometric patterns in the row of pixels.

Full-zone optical image addressing apparatus and method

A technique for transferring image information from scanning apparatus includes adjusting the period of a shift signal according to the speed of reading data from a scan line by a computer instead of using a memory buffer. Therefore, correct data transmission between the image extraction device and the computer can be achieved with the result of reducing the cost of the scanning apparatus.

A method for correcting magnification in a photographic device is disclosed in this present invention. The point of this invention is that the magnification ratio of a photographic device is saved into a nonvolatile memory and read out for correcting the magnification in the photographic device, so that the image with correct dimension can be output from the photographic device. Therefore, this invention can provide a more efficient method for correcting magnification in a photographic device, and the quality of the image captured by the photographic device can be improved thereby.

A scan method comprising a sensing photo module applicable in a scan apparatus for scanning a document is disclosed. The sensing photo module is equipped with photo sensors parallel to each other and detects the photo signal at every collection distance. The photo sensors extend horizontally and are positioned a line distance between the adjacent photo sensors. Under low operating resolution, the vertical resolution is increased by making the line ratio an integer, in order to solve the problem of color-quality loss due to a non-integer line ratio.

A circuit apparatus of extending General Purpose Input Output pins, which includes a control processing unit, a memory, and a buffer. Wherein, data pins of the control processing unit is coupled to memory pins of the memory and those in the buffer. Input signals can be temporarily stored in the buffer when the buffer is used as a buffer for inputting signals. And the buffer can feed input signals into the control processing unit while the memory is being recharged. Likewise, if the buffer is used as a buffer for outputting signals, the buffer can receive output signals (So) from the control processing unit and output those signals while the memory is being refreshed.

A light-emitting diode (LED) light source control method is disclosed. The light-emitting diode light source control method is used for controlling a composite and a single color LED light source. The composite color LED light source can provide two of the three original red, green and blue color lights and the single color LED light source provides the third original color. The composite and the single color LED light sources provide illuminations sequentially so that the light sources need not to be turned on continually and the data generated by the composite and the single color lights on the red, green and blue channels of image sensors can be processed sequentially.

Light-emitting diode light source control method

A method of generating timing signals for a charge-coupled device. A plurality of input timing signals produced by an application specific integrated circuit according to a system clock is transmitted to the charge-coupled device. The programmable timing signals for the charge-coupled device are produced by determining the position of each cycle for these input timing signal, adjusting each cycle of the input timing signals in each system clock cycle and downloading their relationship into the application specific integrated circuit by programming.

The present invention is characterized in calculating excess control pulses sent to a stepping motor resulting from accumulated pixels during respective exposure times at different scanning resolutions, and accordingly determining the number of control pulses required to send to the stepping motor for a normal scan for scanning a predetermined range selected under preview, so as to exactly map the scanning range of the normal scan to the predetermined range.

A scanner motor acceleration method that uses a software driver and a flexible process method to enable a scanner to perform fast scanning operation without increasing motor cost or complex hardware design. Motor acceleration and deceleration may be done through software control on existing scanner hardware which do not support acceleration and deceleration function. Through positioning and speeding mechanisms of existing scanner hardware, and software which may be changed flexibly, scanner positioning function may be accurately performed without deviations.

Scanner motor acceleration method

An automatic image calibration method is provided for a contact type scanner. The inventive method involves in first reading an image of a test chart that consists of at least a horizontal line and a plurality of slanting lines. Then, compute the calibration parameters according to the image of the test chart. The calibration parameters include a vertical displacement value, a horizontal displacement value, and a slope value. After obtaining the calibration parameters for each sensor chip, the initialization step is complete. The calibration parameters must be stored in a memory device for an application program to read. Later on, for each image read by the contact type scanner, the application program can automatically calibrate the image according to the calibration parameters stored in the memory device.
