A display panel includes a color filter (CF) substrate including first support structures, a thin film transistor (TFT) substrate including second support structures, and a liquid crystal layer. Each of the first support structures resists against the TFT substrate, and each of the second support structures resists against the CF substrate to form a receiving space between the CF substrate and the TFT substrate, the receiving space contains the liquid crystal layer. The TFT substrate applies driving signals to the liquid crystal layer to modulate backlight received by the liquid crystal layer from a backlight source. The CF substrate allows light to be emitted as images by filtering the modulated backlight.

Display panel and liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display panel which is viewable from a greater range of oblique viewing angles without apparent loss of contrast or color intensity includes a thin film transistor substrate, a color filter substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the color filter substrate and the thin film transistor substrate. The color filter substrate includes a glass substrate, a black matrix, and a color filter layer on the glass substrate. A surface of the glass substrate defines a plurality of grooves having different depths. Both the black matrix and the color filter layer are in the grooves. A thickness of the liquid crystal layer changes with depths of the plurality of grooves. A display device and a method for making the liquid crystal display panel are also provided.

Liquid crystal display panel and method for making same, and display device

A liquid crystal display panel defines a display area and a non-display surrounding the display area. The panel includes a color filter substrate and a thin film transistor array substrate opposite to the color filter substrate. The color filter substrate includes a first substrate and a black matrix on the first substrate. The black matrix is in the display area and extending to the non-display area. A gap is defined in the black matrix and in the non-display area. The gap extends to be a circle around the display area and divides the black matrix into two independent parts. The color filter substrate includes a second substrate and a metal ring on a side of the second substrate facing the thin film transistor array substrate. The metal ring surrounds the display area and aligns with the gap.

A polarizer includes a first polarizing layer. The polarizing layer is configured for polarizing light. The first polarizing layer has a first absorption axis. The first absorption axis is a curved line.

Polarizer and LCD device using same

A liquid crystal display (LCD) defines an active area and a surrounding non-display area defined. The LCD includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer, and a temperature controller. The second substrate includes a shading unit corresponding to the active area. The liquid crystal layer is between the first substrate and the second substrate. The temperature controller includes a heater configured to provide heat of the LCD to ensure a satisfactory function of the LCD.

Liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display structure includes a liquid crystal display panel, a backlight assembly arranged on one side of the liquid crystal display panel, and a polarizer arranged on a side of the liquid crystal display panel opposite from the backlight assembly. The liquid crystal display structure includes a display area and a non-display area surrounding the display area. The polarizer includes a first section and a second section, the first section being located in a central portion of the polarizer and corresponding in position to the display area, and the second section surrounding the first section and corresponding to the non-display area. The second section of the polarizer defines at least one through hole between every two adjacent corners of the second section.

Liquid crystal display structure

A color filter substrate includes a substrate, a barrier layer located on the substrate; and a plurality of color filtering units and a plurality of black matrixes located on the barrier layer. The barrier layer includes a plurality of first portions respectively corresponding with the plurality of color filtering units and a plurality of second portions respectively corresponding with the plurality of black matrixes. Each of the second portions defines at least one groove. Each of black matrixes comprises at least one protrusion received in the at least one groove of a corresponding second portion and a base coupled with the at least one protrusion.

Color filter substrate and display panel using same

A liquid crystal display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate parallel to the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer located between the first substrate and the second substrate and parallel to the first substrate and the second substrate, a common electrode layer and a pixel electrode located between the first substrate and the second substrate, and an electrical conducting layer located on a side of the second substrate opposite from the first substrate. The electrical conducting layer is electrically coupled to a common electrode wiring located on an outer peripheral portion of the first substrate. The pixel electrode and the common electrode layer are configured to cooperatively induce an electric field to drive liquid crystals of the liquid crystal layer to rotate.

Liquid crystal display panel structure

A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel is disclosed. The LCD panel includes a first alignment layer formed on a first substrate and a second alignment layer formed on a second substrate. A liquid crystal layer having a plurality of liquid crystal molecules between the first alignment layer and the second alignment layer is exposed using a photomask from a side of the second substrate away from the first substrate. Thus, a portion of the liquid crystal molecules are arranged at a first pre-tilt angle and the other portion of the liquid crystal molecules are arranged at a second pre-tilt angle less than the first pre-tilt angle.

Liquid crystal display panel and method for manufacturing the same

A liquid crystal display includes a first polarizer and a liquid crystal display panel adhered to the first polarizer. The first polarizer includes a first sub-areas and a first center area. An adhesion intensity of the first polarizer and the liquid crystal cell corresponding to the first sub-area is greater than an adhesion intensity of the first polarizer and the liquid crystal cell corresponding to the first center area.
